The Pepper Club, E-Bikes, Chick-Fil-A, PinkBox Doughnuts and Jinya Ramen (Apr.14, 2023)

Jason decided to run to the south end of the strip and back again.
Way to go Honey!

I wasn't feeling quite as ambitious and decided I would just do a 5k run.

Heading back towards the Strat.

The front side of the Strat.

The Las Vegas sign over top of the Strip.
All the flowers are in bloom, it is so nice.

However, I only made it to 4k then I had to stop due to a bathroom emergency but that's ok.

The exercise details.

My average pace and splits.

It felt good to get it done even if it was shorter than I'd planned.

Jason took a bit longer than me for his run so while I was waiting for him to get back and get showered, I threw 40 bucks into the piggy game and I lost it all 😭😭😭

When Jason was ready, we headed out to go get some breakfast/brunch at The Pepper Club which is in The Arts District so we just walked down there.
It's by Chef Todd English.

It's a really nice building and it is attached to a hotel.

I love all the flowers.

Love the hanging flowers over the seating areas on the outside.

They were quite busy and we didn't have a reservation so they couldn't seat us at a table but they were able to seat us at the bar.

The menu.
I came for the Ube Stuffed French Toast - I've seen it on a few Tik Toks and Vlogs.

It was superb and I ate every last bit of it.

Jason had their version of chicken and waffles.
The waffle had matcha cooked right into it.
They were really good to but not as good as my french toast.

More pictures of the flowers on the outside of their building.

I love climbing vines anyway but ones that flower are even nicer.

Never noticed this cute fellow before.

From there we drove out to a bike rental shop and rented a couple of bikes for the day.
They had e-bikes and we've never tried them before - the cost to rent them was pretty much the same as the regular bikes so we decided to give them a try.

Got me outfitted with a helmet and off we went.

The guy at the bike rental spot told us to try the trail that runs along the I-15 highway so we did and it was an nice, long, paved trail.

We passed by a Chick-Fil-A so we decided to stop and and grab a bite to eat.

Jason had the chicken sandwich.

I had a chicken sandwich too but my chicken was grilled.
They had a mint watermelon frozen lemonade that I ordered kind of accidentally but it was a lucky accident because it was delicious and very refreshing.

Jason was dreaming about it later and said he needs to get another one before we leave.

After our snack, it was back to the bikes.

The trail we were on was called the Western Highway Trail.

Jason.

Moi.
We had matching helmets - isn't that cute?

Trying to get a picture of the mountains in the background.

We had a good view of the Strip off in the distance so we stopped to take some pictures.

There it is.

Jason got a picture of me.

We went way out past the Red Rock Casino, to West Summerlin and back.
I tried to use the e-assist on the bike as little as possible but I did use it on some of the tough hills and it came in really handy.
I really liked it.

We ended up bkining over 40k.

The exercise details.
We did stop a few times here and there and I didn't pause my fitbit so this is a bit skewed.

After we dropped the bikes off, we went to Hobby Lobby and there was a Pinkbox Doughnuts right around the corner so we went there and checked it out.

So many choices at Pinkbox.

They had some many interesting flavors to chose from we couldn't just get one each.

So we got 6 (between us).
I picked 3 flavors and Jason picked 3.

Our Pinkbox picks.
We got a chocolate doughnut filled with pink cream cheese, a Tres Leches one, a hazelnut cream cronut, a John Lemon wich was filled with a lemon cream and ended up being both of our favorite.
The we got an Ube one (our second favorite) and finally an El Guzman which was guava filled.

We aren't huge doughnut people but they were very good.
We each had one bite of each then threw the rest away.
Wasteful I know but we wanted to try them and there was no way we could finish them all.

I love window shopping at Hobby Lobby and I did find a few deals.
The Easter stuff was 70% off so I did get a few things, not much.

We stopped at a pharmacy to look for motion sickness patches for Bonnie because you can't get them in Canada any more but we had no luck.

Then it was time for supper.
We were both craving ramen and we found a place with good ratings so we headed there.

Jinya ramen.

Yup - it totally is!

Excited for some ramen.

It was a nice place, kind of modern.
Sometimes the old dumpy places have better ramen so we weren't sure what to expect but the reviews were good so we were hopeful.

We shared some tempura brussels sprouts and they were so yummy.

They they had black tonkotsu so Jason ordered that.

I saw they had spicy chicken ramen so I ordered that.

Black Tonkotsu and Chicken Ramen at Jinya Ramen.

Jason's was my favorite but mine was very delicious as well.
I would absolutely recommend this place and next time we are in Vegas, I'm sure we will be back.

We were both kind of tired after supper so we headed back to the hotel.
We put our shopping goodies in the room then headed back to the casino to gamble a bit.
I put the rest of the 100 I'd won yesterday back in the piggy game but I had no luck at all so I gave up and was back in the room before 9 pm.

I got a lot of sun today so I think that was what made me so tired and Jason ran 21k so we had an early night so we could get rested up and head out refreshed tomorrow.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
