Chick-fil-A, Cust Roux and Home We Go, Until Next Time Vegas! (April 17, 2023)

It's our last morning here in Vegas.
We had to be checked out by 11 but we still manage to get out this morning and go for a bit of a run.

I just ran 2k but that's better than not running at all!

My exercise details.

Average pace and splits.

Run done, waiting to meet up with Jason.

We decided to make a quick stop back to Arepa's to for another Passionfruit drink and we shared a Cheese Arepa while we were there.
It was super good.

We went back, showered, packed up and checked out.
We both really liked staying at this end of the Strip and I think we will most definitely be staying at the Strat again in the future.

A couple last shots of the Strip.

Jason did a panoramic view.

We wanted to go to this bagel place we drove by yesterday while we were in the Tesla and the driver really highly recommended it.
Einstein Bros Bagels.
It is right near the Las Vegas Convention Center and it was crazy busy.
They had valet parking in their parking lot.

We went in, saw the line and immediately left - we'll have to come back and try it another time.

Instead Jason found another kind of deli place that was off strip.
They weren't making breakfast anymore so Jason got a smoked meat sandwich and I just had toast.
The food was ok.

Next we found a Chick-fil-A so Jason could have one more of their watermelon mint frozen lemonade.
I was still hungry so I tried their chicken tenders - they were yummy and their sauce is so good too.

They had cookies that looked really good so we had one of those too and it was just as good as it looked.

We were kind of just driving around wasting time before we had to head to the airport.
We did some shopping then we decided to get a bit to eat.

We found this restaurant - Crust Roux.
They had pizzas and their specialty was chicken pot pie.

I got the pot pie and it was a bit of a wait because they cooked it from scratch but it was oh so good.

We also tried their pizza - it was ok.

They had Maple Bourbon Pecan Pie so we shared a slice of that and it was fantastic.

We thought we flew out at 9 pm so we still had quite a bit of time to fill and there was a TJ Maxx near by so we went there to do more shopping.
I had a few things picked out for Rob and Freya and myself and was in line waiting to pay when Jason realized that we actually fly out at 7:20 and it was 5:45.
We still needed to fill up our rental and return it then catch the shuttle over to the airport.
We have never gone to the airport that late so we were worried.
I just dropped all of my stuff and we skedaddled out of there.

We decided we didn't have time to fill up the rental with fuel and just dropped it off and figured we'd bit the bullet and pay what they charge to fill it.
Whatever it was it would be less than having to buy new plane tickets home.

We amazingly got that done, got over to the airport and through security and were sitting at our gate ready to go by 7 pm.

We flew Swoop this trip - I thought the flight was good, not bumpy at all thank goodness.

It was quite late when we got into Edmonton and we kind of went back and forth on whether we should stay there or head home and ultimately decided to drive home.

Jason said he was feeling good and could do it - I knew there was no way I'd be able to stay asleep the whole way but Jason got a drive and off we went.

It was 3:30 am when we got to the house.
We took our luggage in and went straight to bed.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
