Craft Room Re-Org is Finally in Progress Again (July 27, 2022)

It is rest day today and I am so going to soak it in!

Morgan sent out a cake this morning on OMG - it looks delicious.

It looks so professional too - she's getting so good.

It was a quiet day at work today again - the summer is always quiet.

Bonnie was at a meeting in the city so that left only Bob, Calvin, Tom and I and Calvin is out in the field most of the day.

At lunch, I took a bunch of my fall things that I had made and put them on my shelf at the hardware store.

I just paid for three months of having that shelf and I didn't have a thing on it so I figured it would better to have something out of season on it as opposed to nothing at all.

I'm really in the mood for crafting lately so I really want to get my craft room organized and my desk finished up.

I had enough time at lunch to get out the saw and cut all the pieces for my desk so my plan it to put it together after work.

I got the legs all put on this one part of the table and Jason helped me move it into the craft room.

I'm thinking now that it might be a bit short so I think I might add to the bottom of each leg to raise it up a bit.

My plan is to make another section just like this but with shorter legs that will sit on top.

While I was putting the legs on the first part, Kody called to see if we were still having Freya over.
She is going away with Crystal for 4 days to a family reunion so we wanted her to spend the night

He didn't have a vehicle so I went down and got her and Hunter saw us going so he asked to come too and then Kody also came - I wanted him to help me start the lawn mower because I thought I could fit that in too tonight - boy was I wrong.

He helped me with the table then Nadine dropped by so I could cut her out a stencil so Kody took over and started building the frame of the second table and I made the stencil.

I had computer trouble so it took longer than expected but I got it done.

Kody got the frame on the table done too but it was very warped so I didn't screw the top down.

I wasn't sure if I needed to change out some of the wood or if it would adjust once I did screw the top down and I wanted Jason's opinion.

Nadine offered to give Kody a ride home when she left and Hunter went too and Jason got home right around the same time.

He took the frame outside that Kody had built, straightened it out a bit (I'm not sure how) and then screwed the top down.

It's looking pretty good.

It was quite late by then so I didn't get much else done but I'm hoping to finish it up tomorrow.

I think I'll bring it in to the house after work and put a coat of paint on it then I'll mow the lawn, that's my plan right now anyway.

Kody is off to work early in the morning so he dropped back over to say Good Night to Freya and she ended up wanting to go home with him which is just as well.

It might have been rough getting her ready in the morning and dropping her off before I headed to work and now I won't need too.

I still got to spend the evening with her although I was really busy so I didn't really get to give her my full focus and attention but it was still good to see her.

My sister posted some pictures so I figured I'd share.
She doesn't very often so I love it when she does.
I like seeing what they are up to.

My sister and the boys planted a little mini garden.

Looks like it's coming along great.

The got harnesses for the cats and took them for a walk.

Ha ha - love it.

I think the cats really enjoyed it.

Haylee posted another cute picture of her and Freya.

Loved having my rest day today!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Marathon is Getting Real and Power Tool Lesson (July 26, 2022)

It's pretty quiet at the office this week, there are only a couple of us in there.

Work has been slow too but like I said a couple days ago - it's giving me the opportunity to get some projects finished up that I've set aside for months.

I was able to get another one off my plate this morning and what a great feeling!

I headed out on my lunch break and got my run done for the day.

I had to run 8k.
I'm kind of liking this new route I've been doing - saves me from having to run down the highway.

My exercise details and stats.

My average pace and splits.
7.30 is pretty good.

I was feeling good at the end and tried bumping up my speed a little bit.

It's a nice change because normally I'm just dragging by the end, I'm often struggling just to finish so feeling like I have some juice left is awesome.

My video check in for today.

I had a look at the website for the marathon that we are running in Iceland.
Read the rules, looked at the map of the route, the details.

Looks like there are lots of porta potties along the run route, bananas and drinks every 4 km.

It starts at 8:30 and you have to complete it within 7.5 hours to get an official time.
That doesn't mean you can't still finish it if it takes you longer, your time just won't be official.

I'm thinking I'm going to be somewhere in the 5 - 6 hour range.

The count down is on on the website, it's 24 days away which really makes it feel more real somehow.

That's just over 3 weeks away.

I'm nervous, but excited too.

It also makes me feel like I want to try to put my all into the training runs that I have left since I don't really have that many of them.

I've got this!

After work, I had an appointment for a massage.
It's been awhile and let me tell you - I needed it.

I had her work on my legs and my back.
It was like my body was exhaling a sigh of relief when she was working on me - it felt so good.

When I got home, I made a ham and cheese sandwich for myself for supper and kind of just relaxed and didn't do too much.

When Jason got home, he headed out for a 10 k bike ride and when he got back, I was craving an ice cream so we walked to the store and got one each.
It was yummy too.

When we got back to the house, I got him to show me how to use the saw.

I'm kind of afraid of power tools, well ones that cut anyway, and I don't want to be.

I've been in a crafting mood lately so I really want to get my desk finished so I can get my craft room organized again and ready to do crafts.

If it wasn't so late I probably would have cut all the pieces I needed but it was almost 10 so I thought it would be rude of me to make all that noise.

As soon as I get home from work tomorrow though I'm going to be out there getting them cut.
I'll put it together too then I think I'm going to mow the lawn as long as it doesn't rain.

It is my rest day but I like mowing the lawn and I don't want Jason to have to work a 12 hour shift then come home and do it.

He just worked 4 days for his cross shift guy and tomorrow he'll be starting his own 7 days so it's going to be a while before he has a day off.

I think we may have Freya spend the night tomorrow night too.

She's leaving on Thursday for 4 days to go to a family reunion on Haylee's side so we won't see her all weekend.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In Day - Playing Teeter Totter on the Scale (July 25, 2022)

 Monday = Weigh In Day.

I knew it wasn't going to be good and it wasn't.
I was 199.0 lbs.

That's up 5 lbs since last weigh in.

I can't seem to keep the momentum going, I'm just back and forth and back and forth the same few pounds.

I think I'm just going to be ok with this for now until I get through the marathon.

I'll try to keep it in check as much as possible until then and once I'm back from Iceland, I'll really focus on losing weight again.

It was rainy out at lunch time so I opted to hop on the treadmill when I went home for lunch.
It felt really good - I was able to set the speed at 5.0 and leave it there for the entire run.
I actually even had some fuel left in the tank so I pumped it up to 5.5 for the last mile.

Took me an hour and 32 minutes to run the 12k (7.5 miles) which would have been about the same time had I run it outside so that was nice.

Video check in for today.

The afternoon went by pretty quickly at work.

I stopped and picked up a couple of frozen pizzas on my way home for supper.
Then when I got home, I worked on my blog.
I'm getting so close to being caught up.

I also finally got my taxes done and submitted.
Kind of late but I don't owe any money so no biggie.

I put the pizza on around 7 figuring it would be done right around the time that Jason got home but he ended up having issues out there and didn't get home until close to 9 pm.
At least there was cooked pizza waiting for him when he arrived.

After he ate, we basically went straight to bed.
My right knee is bothering me a little bit - hopefully its nothing and it goes away.

From Interviewed to Interviewer (July 24, 2022)

Freya and I had another late sleep in this morning.

I think it was close to 10 when we got up.

She did wake up when Jason was leaving for work and wanted to get up but I convinced her to stay in bed a bit longer thankfully - I was so tired.

She's getting a bit of a cough again so I figured she could use the rest too.

She wanted to do videos so she got the ring light all set up.

First she interviewed me.

Then I interviewed her.

I convinced her to have a bath and let me brush her hair.
I got this new conditioning milk that seems to work really well at getting all the tangles out which is super awesome!

Haylee texted to see how she was doing and said that she was home and to bring Freya over whenever.
Freya wanted me to read out her mom's texts and when I did, she said she wanted to go home.

On the way home, she said she wanted me to take her to her Auntie Zepplyn's but I said she'd have to ask her mom when we got home.

When we got there, Zepplyn was there so that worked out well.
I love this little headband she has - I think I might try to make one.

Freya was quite happy to be home with her mom and Zepplyn so I headed back home to get ready for my run.

There were dark storm clouds brewing outside and I'd also eaten not long before so I decided to do my work out on the treadmill.
A new season of Virgin River just came out so I put that on and got running.

I was able to keep the speed between 4.0 and 4.5 for the run and it took me 2 hours and 14 minutes to get the 15k (9.3 miles) completed.
I did have to stop a couple times for the washroom so running on the treadmill was a good choice for me today.

Video check in for today.

Jason made pizza for the bbq at work today.
He brought me home a couple slices for my supper.

He went out for a bike ride when he got home and I continued watching Virgin River.
It's really good!

It's back to work for me tomorrow so I had an early night.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Visit to Krause and Trip to Whitecourt (July 23, 2022)

I had a bit of a sleep in again this morning.

Normally I like getting up nice and early on the weekend but lately I just haven't been able to do it.

Guess my body just needs the extra rest.

After I did get up, I had my coffee, let it settle then headed out for my run.

Sweaty selfie.

I had 13k to run today.
I did my 'new' route again today - I'm quite enjoying it.

My exercise details and average heart rate.

My average pace and splits.
A bit higher today but I knew I had longer to run so I tried to pace myself a bit slower.
Ultimately it makes for a more enjoyable run for me.

My video check in for today.
I've enjoyed my last couple runs which is a really nice switch as they've been feeling really tough lately.

After my run, I had a shower then headed over to pick up Freya.
I'd promised her I'd take her out to visit Hunter at Krause where they were camping so that's just what we did.

Freya and I stopped at the store for treats to bring with us.
We knew there were a bunch of kids out there so we brought a box of ice cream sandwiches with us for everyone - they went quickly.

Hunter pouting.
Adrien splashed him with water jokingly but Hunter was not impressed.
He's very sensitive and doesn't take well to pranks.

Freya went in the big round house to play with all the girls.

She was practicing her cartwheels.

She's getting better every time.

We visited for a couple hours then we went back to town to pick up Kody and the three of us headed to Whitecourt.

Kody was our chauffeur.

I sat in the back with Freya.

I just needed a few groceries.
Freya picked out a new dress and we got Hunter a bathing suit and a skimmer for his pool.

Then we took Freya to McDonald's for supper and Kody and I got Edo to take home.

Not long into the drive home Freya looked at me and said she wanted to go to sleep then promptly shut her eyes and went right to sleep.
Little darling.

Jason was home from work by the time that we got home.
Kody helped me unload my groceries then Freya stayed with Jason while I took Kody home.

She'd had a power nap so she was ready to go!
Jason took her for a little walk while I put the groceries away.

We had a bit of a late night, I think it was around midnight when we headed to bed.
Freya spent the night with us.

Ha ha ha.

The Adventures of Jason & Freya and Visit at the Lake (July 22, 2022)

Jason got up early this morning but Freya and I had a pretty good sleep in.

I think it was around 9:30 when we finally got out of bed.

After I had my coffee, I got to work doing laundry, dishes and just cleaning around the house and Jason and Freya when out for a walk.

He sent me this picture, the first place they stopped at was the Swan Palace.
She wanted to go there for something to eat.

She had chicken fingers and fries.

Next they headed over to the hardware store, there is a coffee shop attached and there are some toys there that he takes her there to play with quite often, they hung out there for quite a while.

Kody got called out to work so he walked up to the house to have a little visit with her before he left so he and I drove down to the hardware to see them.

I was going to drive them home but Freya wasn't ready to come home yet so Jason took her to the park.

I went back home, got ready and headed out for my run.

I had to run 10k today.
I changed up the route a little again today.
Same streets I always run on but just in a different order.

My exercise details and average heart rate.

My average pace and splits.

My video check in.
I actually really enjoyed my run today which was nice - it's been awhile.
Mainly I've been dreading them lately.

My friend Nadine called to see if I wanted to go spend the night at the camp and visit with her and Bonnie.

I had a feeling that Freya might spend the night again and Jason is back to work tomorrow so I decided to go up there for a visit but not spend the night.

Bonnie had a really nice set up there.

Nadine and Bonnie.
We spent the evening just hanging out and chatting - it was nice.

I decided that I'm going to spend the night there next Saturday and do my long run there on Sunday morning.

It's pretty flat and I measured of a 6k route - I think it's another 6k to the Park entrance so if I double that it gives me about 24k, shouldn't be hard to tack on another 3k at the highway or something.

I'll measure it out more closely next Saturday when I come back.

Nadine said if I needed to go to the washroom or something she'd come pick me up.
Hopefully that doesn't happen but good to know just in case.

My plan is to head out early, not eat anything before I go but take some water and energy gummies and gu packs with me.

It's my last 27k run and I really want to do it - I think getting it under my belt will be immensely helpful to my mental state during the actual marathon.

Jason was still sending me updates of his and Freya's adventures.
They went for ice cream.

Then they went for ice cream again.

Just owning it!

I left Bonnie's place around 11 pm - we had a nice visit.
It's an hour drive back to my place.
I knew Jason would be in bed already since he has to work in the morning.
I was expecting Freya to be there with him but she wasn't - Kody and Haylee must have picked her up.

I thought this was cute.
