Queen Of Staple Guns No, Soup, Maybe! (Nov.23, 2019)

I got up when My Honey left for work.
He made me a coffee before he left - what a sweetheart he is!

I settle on the couch and found myself a Christmas movie to watch.
Write Before Christmas.
I thought it was pretty good.

Meanwhile, at work, My Honey was preparing ribs for the smoker.
He is doing ribs & shrimp for his work bbq tomorrow.
He sure feeds those guys well.

After my movie, I got to work.

I wanted to put this swag I have up over my curtains.
Last year I just kind of hung it over the top of the curtains but it didn't look that great.

So this year, I screwed some stake posts together, enough to make it longer than my curtain rod.

Then I unearthed our staple gun so I could staple the swag to the stakes.
I just could not get the staple gun to work.
I was about to go buy a new one when it dawned on me that I had put the staples in wrong.
Ha ha.
It worked pretty good after that.

My niece came over to do crafts.
She brought along the Halloween sign that she'd made so she could paint 'Home Sweet Home' on the back.
She had to put a coat of stain on it first and I got busy making the stencil.
She wanted the 'O' in home to be replace with a dog paw.

We got the stencil all ready to go but it wouldn't stick to the sign because it wasn't dry enough yet so we'll have to finish it another time.

She left not long after so we didn't get a whole lot accomplished but we made plans to do it again next week.
Her sign should be good and dry by then.

My Honey sent me this picture of some spools they have at work and asked if I wanted him to bring a couple home.

I'm not sure exactly what we can make with them yet but of course I told him to bring them.
I hate to see things go to waste and we'll come up with something to do with them.

After my niece left, I finished up a few details with the decorations then I just sat and enjoyed them.

I picked up this little owl chair for Baby F yesterday, her mom loves owls and I couldn't resist.

I haven't gotten around to painting a design on the mini table My Honey made but I did set it up next to ours and I love it.

Excuse the dishes in the sink - aside from that, it's looking festive in here.

I'm still loving the wreaths on the cupboards.
They were a lot less work this year seeing as the ribbon was already cut for each one.

I love the giant gingerbread cookie cutter I got.
Not sure if we'll use it but it looks good as a decoration.

I thought of going to the store to pick up something for supper but then decided I should just make something with ingredients that I already had here.
I started by cooking up some ground beef we had then I just kept adding things and it turned into soup.

Pretty darn good soup too if I do say so myself.

My Honey liked it too, even though he did have to wait a little bit for it to cook after he got home.
Notice the swag on the curtains in the background - I think it turned out great.
I might dress it up with some snowflakes (or maybe not, we'll see).

We watched some 'bad lip syncing' videos on YouTube before calling it a night.

Another of those cat memes going around, this one struck me funny too.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Old Pictures (Nov.22, 2019)

Tonight was our work Christmas party.
It is held at the casino in the city and normally we leave at lunch time to head in there.
None of us are going this year and I'm still torn a bit about my decision not to attend but I'd have to come home tomorrow then turn around and head back to the city on Sunday and I just didn't want to do all that driving.

I was hoping that we might get to leave work early anyway but that didn't happen.

We did our first 50/50 draw today and I won!
I got $90.00 - not too shabby!

After work, I picked up mom and we headed to WCT to do a bit of shopping.
We made a stop at Walmart.
Then we headed over to the Dollar Store.
I ordered take out pizza from Panago and we headed back home.
It was a pretty quick in and out trip.

SV was at the office late picking up some stuff and sent me this picture of how the snowflake looks at night.
You can't really see the lights on it because of the lights at the office but it does look nice.

When I got home, we had pizza and My Honey & I watched some YouTube videos before hitting the hay.

This was posted on a Facebook page for the community that my dad grew up in.
I just love all the old pictures that get posted on there.
The lady in the front is my Aunt GS.
She doesn't look very impressed, ha ha!

Light Up! (Nov.21, 2019)

The morning flew by at work, guess that's what happens when you are having fun!

Lunch was a salad with chicken breast and chia seeds.
It was yummy!

I took the snowflake I made to the office today and put a set of lights on it.
We thought it would look good hanging outside the office so we decided to hang it up.

I love this picture of SG, she looks like she's up to no good!

The girls gave direction and held the ladder for me (SV was the photographer).

We hung it with big magnets that SG's hubby made.
I knocked them down about three times before we finally got it up.

Looks pretty good.
I can't wait to see it with the lights on.

Light up in town was tonight so mom & I headed down there around 6 pm.
It was a lovely evening for it.

My son and family were out having dinner first so we stopped in there to see them.

Mom & I wore our giant Christmas hats, Miss Z just had to try it on.

She wanted her sissy to try one on too.

As soon as Baby F saw my phone she just had to have it and take some pictures.

She wanted to try the hat on too.

Peek-a-boo!

Awww, I love this one.

Miss Z had to try mom's hat on too.

She was having a grand old time switching back and forth between hats.

She made sure my son tried one on too.

They hadn't even ordered yet (it was super busy in there) and mom and I weren't staying to eat so we headed out to the festivities to see what was going on out there.

MY SIL showed up with the kiddos.

Mr H was being very shy - he does that a lot when he hasn't seen us in a bit.
It doesn't take him long to get over it though.

My brother and niece were there as well.
Santa showed up and all the kids waited in line to see him.

It was quite a long line so mom and I headed to the grocery store to get sandwiches for supper.

We thought we had plenty of time but got back just was the kids were getting to see Santa.

Miss A letting Santa giving her list to Santa.

Mr H was listening patiently.

There was a big bonfire and because of the nice evening, lots of the town was out.

The Firemen had a firetruck there for the kids to look at and Mr H was right in there.

The volunteer fire fighter took him around the whole truck and showed him everything.

He was enthralled.

He must have spent a good hour going around the truck looking at every single thing.

There was lots to see too.

This was what he really wanted, to get right up there on the truck.

He had lots of questions to ask.
I think this was the highlight of the evening for him.

My son & family had to wait a long time for their supper but they finally made it over to the line up to see Santa.

Baby F was NOT impressed.

She didn't have a full on melt down.

But she was trying to get away.

Mom thought if she got close that maybe they could get a good picture but Baby F was not staying on that lap one second longer.

I asked Miss Z what she was going to ask Santa for and she said she didn't know but she'd figure it out when she got on his lap.
I wonder what she picked?

Mom's friends, L & LD were volunteering as Santa's helpers and giving treat bags to the kiddos after their visit with Santa.
They do a lot of volunteering in the community.
The photographer that took this picture was volunteering his time as well and taking pictures of all the kids with Santa.
So nice to have so much community spirit.

Much happier now that she's back with mommy.

The fireworks started right at that time and we had a perfect view.
Baby F wasn't frightened by the noise they made at all.

My son & his family.

I love that we live in a small community that puts on events like this.

The volunteer fire fighters and the local RCMP come out too and it's good that the community gets a chance to interact with them.

Went to get a hot chocolate but shop was all closed up.
We finished watching the fireworks then we headed home.

My Christmas decorating is pretty much done.

I love how it looks in the evening with all the Christmas lights on.

I had a lot of decorations that I didn't put up this year.
I love how it all turned out though.

My handsome honey!
I saw this before and I think it's so funny.

This article was posted on Facebook today.
It's my great grandfather so I thought it was very interesting.
He lived to be 103 and he was active right up until he passed away.
Good genes to have!
