Weigh In Day (Feb.12, 2018)

I did not want to get up and go to work today, but I did.
It was busy as usual.

Weigh in didn't go well.
257.6 lbs
That is up and that was disheartening.
I just wanted to give up and start eating everything in sight right there but I didn't.
Last week's huge loss was more than I expected and I ate late last night so those are likely factors.
Lunch was the other half of my sub from last night.
I left work a bit early to go to WCT again and pick up a form I had to get mom's doctor to fill out for her insurance.
We also dropped by the second hand store to drop off a bunch of stuff.
Purging feels so good!
I just want to do more, more, more.

My Honey was hard at work today tearing out a closet.
We are closing it up from the living room side and then extending the closet in my office to include that space.
I think we may have to come up with a cabinet of some sort to house jackets maybe for our back door.
Will have to think about that some more.
I have a whole closet of coats that I don't even wear so I see more purging going on with that.

He never ceases to amaze me with all of his hidden talents!
My Honey's work truck is acting up so we called AMA to have it towed to Canadian Tire for them to look at.
I was on hold with them for awhile but eventually got through so all was good.
Supper was an egg sandwich then I headed out to curling.
It will be my last game before play offs because next Monday is a holiday then the following Monday I will be in MIAMI!!!
Can't wait.
It was a pretty close game but we pulled out a win in the end.
We were ahead and got 3 points in the seventh end so the other team folded.
I finished watching Mykelti's wedding episode of Sister Wives when I got home then we watched another episode of GOT.
Only a couple more seasons to go.
I could have easily watched a few more but got to bed much later than I wanted.
I will pay for that in the morning.

I had quite a few points left so I had some cereal and raspberries for a snack before bed.

More From Texas Trip 2016

I think it was around day 4 when we hit Austin.
It was my favorite of the places we stayed in Texas, it just had a really great vibe to it.
We liked it so much we ended up staying there for two nights.

We checked out the pink capitol building.
It was a really beautiful spot.

Then we went on a bus tour and I am so glad or we might have missed out on seeing these graffiti walls.

They have this set up specifically for anyone to paint.
Then once a year, they go in and paint everything over and start with a new blank slate again.

What a great message!
We are the authors of our own stories after all so why not live a great one!

The tour bus driver snapped this picture for us.

Giant tinfoil statue - kind of cool.
(I don't think it was actually made out of tinfoil, it just looked like it was).

We've heard lots about Voodoo Doughnuts in Portland, Oregon and they just opened one here in Austin so we were pretty stoked to check it out.

They have lots of interesting looking doughnuts.

These are the four we went with.
I am sorry to say that we were a little disappointed.
I am not a huge doughnut lover anyway so maybe that was part of why I wasn't overly impressed?

This sign cracked me up.
Some people are just so clever.

My Honey!

We hit up Torchy's Tacos.
I guess even President Obama likes this place.

The tacos were delicious.

This looked like a cool place to check out but it was closed so I was kind of bummed.
If we are ever in Austin again though, I will be heading here.
One thing I really liked about Austin is that they really encourage local business as opposed to big box stores or franchise stores which is awesome.

Another clever sign in front of a construction sight!

We found this funky place to have lunch/supper.
Casino El Camino
It had been featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.

They had a really cool outdoor seating area and we were the only ones that took advantage and sat out there.

The place is know for having awesome burgers and it did not disappoint.
They were scrumptious!

Memories of Las Vegas Trip 2014 Continued

I got to see the Grand Canyon in person for the first time.
(I was no where near the edge so I was not in danger of falling at any time.)

You just can't even begin to imagine how breathtaking the views are here.
Standing there taking it all in is quite amazing.

Handsome dude!

Grand Canyon selfie!

Just more of the awesome views.
I was so surprised that there weren't any railings or anything (of course now I realize that that would just be impossible).
I was a little nervous while I was there and know I would never be able to relax if I took younger kids there.
I would be totally stressed the whole time.
I used to be a crazy worry wart and I've learned to relax a bit over the last few years but I could feel that side of me coming out a little while we were here.

We also checked out Hoover Dam.

I was feeling good about myself here - I was working out hard and eating right and it was paying off.

The state line goes right through it so here in this photo, Jason is in Nevada and I am in Arizona.
Kind of neat.

This bridge that goes over it is awesome as well.
I've never driven over it and I am not sure yet if I want to.
Maybe some day!

When you look at it and think about the people that actually built it and what a feat they accomplished it is just incredible.

Just look at all that sunshine in the picture with us.
Coming from northern Alberta, this weather in February is just wonderful in our eyes!

This Mexican place was featured on Diners, Drive Ins and Dives so we drove out there to try it.
They had the best refried beans that I have ever had in my whole life.
They gave it to us with tortilla chips while we were waiting for our food and I couldn't get enough of it.

The pozole was yummy.
I am a big fan of pozole in general and this one was delicious.

We tried churros for desert with a couple of different dipping sauces.

My Honey - maybe he is still in awe of those amazing refried beans.

This is random but I saw it on Facebook today and I just thought it was so cute.

I also saw this on Facebook today and I am totally going to do it.
I told My Honey that he is going to do it with me - he was down for that.

Used one of my weekly points today - pretty darn good.
I have to admit, I was feeling defeated a little today after my weigh in and I contemplated going on a binge or giving up but I didn't.
Huge Non Scale Victory (NSV) in my eyes!

Curling helped bump me up over the 10,000 step mark!
It felt good when my fitbit started vibrating on my arm to let me know I reached that goal.
Need to get back to feeling it every day!

That is all for today,
Until next time, be happy!
