Training Week in Calgary is Done! (May 1, 2026)

Jason was off today so he had the girls sleep over last night.

He made them cheese stuffed waffles on a stick for breakfast. 

They turned out pretty good.

Freya gave them a try - they had good stretching capabilities but she wasn't a fan.

At least she tried it.

Eden randomly started making the peace sign when you take her picture.

So funny!

These kids don't like getting dressed in the morning.

Jason got the bathed.

Eden was being some kind of animal.

What is it with kids licking dirty bath water?

It was my last morning of training.

I walked over to Banker's Hall - it was a gorgeous sunshine filled morning.

It will likely be my last time in the building as our office is moving to the old Devon Tower, I imagine next time I'm back that the move will be completed. It has been going on for several months now but they are getting close to the final stages.

I worked until about 10:45 then headed back to the hotel to pack and check out then I hit the road.

I put my book on to listen to as I was driving - I'm really liking it so far.

I didn't get to listen to as much of it as I thought I would, I ended up calling Jason about 20 minutes out from Gasoline Alley and talked to him the whole rest of the way.

I stopped at Ikea in South Common - got a few frames for Freya's artwork and checked out the beds.

I did some other shopping around then headed to St. Albert.

I had Smash Burger for supper.

I hit up Value Village and Goodwill and got a few puzzles then over to Jen's.

Freya and Zepplyn have a dance competition in St. Albert this weekend so Crystal, Haylee and the girls are coming in to spend the night at a hotel.

I just stayed at Jen's, she and I will go watch Freya dance tomorrow.

Jason made another fairy for Freya.

I've been on the hunt for some sort of shelf to display them on.

Then he also made this house.

He got a few others that he's made for her all set up on the mantle.

Jen and I did one of the puzzles that I picked up today.

It was 500 pieces so it didn't take too long.

It was a fun one.

Carrie posted this cute picture of Whitney wearing Hulk hands.

Got all my steps in.

Spring Has Finally Sprung in the Hills (Apr.30, 2026)

  Another day of training in Calgary.

I went to lunch with some of the other ladies today, it was nice.

After work I went for a walk, looking for a spot to eat.

Saw some murals along the way

I felt like having some pasta and found this little spot, Love Damian.

They just had a small menu.

I got the homemade Focaccia - delicious.

Then I also had the Agnolotti.

It was really good - a small serving but enough.

Back home, Jason picked up the girls and they did some drawing.

She's such a good artist, even on a large scale.

They stopped at the skate park to play.

Still some snow but looks like a lot of it has melted.

Eden is always making friends.

Freya is really good at making friends too.

Spring has finally sprung here in the hills.

Awww, so sweet.

Of course they found the puddles.

Freya loved climbing these rocks when she was younger, now Eden is loving it.

Oh the joy.

Devonian Gardens and Pizza Face (Apr.29, 2026)

I'm currently listening to Volume 7 of Emma M Lion but ran out of Spotify hours last night for this month so I picked a new book to listen to in Audible since I had a credit available.

I've seen some rave reviews for it so I decided to give it a try, Life, & Death, & Giants.

I wasn't sure about it at first but now that I'm a couple chapters in, I think I am really going to like it.

For lunch I went to the Devonian Gardens food court and got Pad Thai from Thai Express.

It's just a very nice food court in the mall across from Bankers Hall where our head office is.

 

We were in a smaller room for a training today but we are moving back to this room that we were in Monday and Tuesday.

It's a much nicer training room, far more spacious.

After work, I went for a walk down 17th and looked for a spot to have some supper.

I happened upon a pizza place, Pizza Face.

It had a good vibe and good reviews so I gave it a go!

There was this really funky wallpaper in the ceiling - I loved it.

I didn't want a whole pizza so I just got a couple of slices, one dill pickle slice and a pepperoni slice.

The crust was fantastic - it could have used a bit more toppings.

Freya had dance in the city tonight so she and Haylee & Kody headed there with Crystal and Zepplyn who also had dance.

So Jason was picking Eden up from the sitters (Morgan), he stopped to grab new bubbas because we had none.

We have boughten so many of these and for some reason they all just disappear.

Look what My got grandma.

I love how she says 'my' instead of 'I' - it's so cute.

She immediately had a bubba of milk.

Then it was nice out so Jason got her geared up and took her bike out.

The biking didn't last long - they traded in for the bike trailer and went for a walk.

They stopped for a treat - ice cream with sprinkles!

Tuckered out after their excursion.

Kody and Haylee were getting home really late so Eden ended up spending the night with Papa - she was pretty excited about that!
