The Cast is off For Good (May 15, 2026)

We had a good sleep in then when I did get up, I had some things I wanted to do, like painting the wall to the basement.

While I was at it, I decided to go ahead and paint the front door as well.

I saw a vlogger one time that painted a design on the edge of her door and I liked how whimsical it was so I figured I'd give it a try too.

Eden looking a little feral this morning - she loves the dress and refuses to take it off and will nit let me brush her hair.
She knows what she wants and doesn't want - I just love her confidence.

Jason was heading out for a run and Eden was going with him so she got ready.

He pushed her in the bike trailer.
This thing sure has gotten a lot of use since we bought it a few years back.

It's a day early but I wanted to go to Barrhead to see if I could get my cast off.
We figured Jason could drop me off at the hospital and then he would take the girls swimming.

Our first bear sighting of the season.

Jason got a bit better of a picture than I did.

I had Freya take a final picture of my cast.

Eden and I.

I'm so glad this is finally coming off!

The girl that did it today got me set up much better than the last time.

It's coming off.

It was looking pretty crusty but not as bad as last time.

My hand still looks pretty swollen.

The nurse helped me get it cleaned up and then the doctor came and put it in a splint.
He said I had to keep it in the splint at all times and just take the splint off to shower.
Now that I'm thinking about it, he didn't tell me how long I'd have to leave the splint on so I guess that means another trip to the doctor.

I could barely move my fingers and he said that was because the cast had been covering my knuckles and it should not have been, so to try to start moving them to get them back working like they should.

It was my quickest trip yet, I was in and out in 1.5 hours.
I figured Jason and the girls would still be swimming so I walked over to the pool to meet them.
I figured I'd watch them until they were done but they came walking out as I got there.

It was really quiet in the pool, no other kids for Freya to play with and since Jason had to stick with Eden, that wasn't much fun for Freya.
So after about an hour, they were done.

They wanted to go to the park nearby so we took them to play for a bit.

They had this cool two person swing.

I think Eden really liked that Freya could swing with her.

Can I buy an ice cream miss?

Papa chasing Eden.

Got her!

Freya has recently started wearing giant t-shirts - she says it's her new thing.
She's beautiful no matter what she wears.

Eden is a people person and when she saw these other kids get to the park, she wanted to be right over playing with them.

She has mad monkey bar skills.

Little climber.

After the park, we dropped them off at Rita's for a visit - Crystal and Zepplyn were there.
I thought Kim and Emily were there too but their flight got delayed so they won't be here until tomorrow.
Jason and I went and got some groceries before picking them back up.

Heading home.

The sky was looking beautiful.

Peace.
This is the pose Eden has started making for photos - must have picked it up from sissy.
She slept at Theia's again tonight and Eden stayed with us.

Missed my step goal.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
