Change of Plans (July 21, 2022)

Welcome to my world where I have Fridays off so Thursdays are the beginning of my weekend and it is absolutely marvelous!

I got out on my lunch hour to get my run done.

I just had 8k to do today and I tried out kind of a new route for me just around the center and bottom of town.
I quite liked it.

My exercise details and average heart rate.

My average pace and splits.
7.26 is pretty good.

Video check in for today.

Jason only has 3 days off this shift, he's going back on shift on Saturday to cover for a few days for his cross shift guy then he'll be back on his own shift so he'll be working 11 days in a row.

We considered going to the city for a movie tonight but decided to stay home instead and just have some alone time.
That didn't last long though.
I had a nice hot bath when I got home from work - just find it soothing to my muscles plus it's relaxing in general to me.
While in there - my brother texted to see if we could watch Hunter for a couple hours and of course I didn't mind.
He was there before I even got out of the tub.

He wanted to go to the store so we hopped on the bikes and headed to Adrien's.
Hunter had to ride in the bike trailer until we got to his place to get his bike.
Kody lives just across the street so I thought Freya might see us and want to come with us and we did see her in the window but her back was too us.

We went to the store and picked up a few treats.

My Honey and I.
Just after this, Crystal pulled into the parking lot of the store with Zepplyn and Freya.
Of course the girls wanted to come with us so the got in the bike trailer and we biked them over to Crystal's.
Freya wanted to come to our house though and of course I can't say no to her so over she came.

I had decided at that point to let the kids spend the night but Adrien came to pick up Hunter.
They were heading out for the weekend camping tomorrow and needed to get ready so Hunter couldn't stay but Freya did.
So much for our alone time but we don't mind - we love spending time with the kids and know they are going to grow up so fast - we enjoy every moment we get to have with them.

We spent the evening just chilling out watching some tv.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Bike Ride and Ice Cream (July 20, 2022)

Jason is off today so Freya spent the night.

She woke up when I was leaving for work but she was happy to stay with Jason.

I texted him just before lunch to see how things were going and he sent me a few pictures.

He said they'd gotten up and worked out.

They'd spend some time chilling in the backyard.

Now they were out for a walk.

She was coming up with all kinds of games for them to play.

She was coming up with all kinds of games for them to play.

She's a little dare devil and loves jumping off things.

Doing her Spiderman pose - note the fingers.

Climbing a pole.
She's such a little climber.

He said she wanted to go to Swan Palace for lunch so I said I'd meet them there.

She had some soup and I had a club sandwich.
It was really good.

Jason.

After she ate, she wanted to sit beside Jason.

After lunch I was heading back to the office and Jason & Freya were going to the store.
She said she wanted slime and I said absolutely no more slime was coming into my house.

Later in the afternoon, Jason sent me this picture of him and Freya making slime at the house.

😮😮😮😮😮

She just loves pouring things into a bowl and mixing them up.
Doesn't matter what it is really, the messier the better.

She just loves getting her hands in there too.
Unfortunately (or not) it didn't turn out.

She picked out some make up (for kids) for her treat at the store and after slime, she put her make up on.

Checking in the mirror to see how pretty she looks.

She is beautiful, make up or no.

When I got home from work, she'd just woken up from a nap and Kody was there to pick her up.
She didn't want to go until he told her that Haylee had ball and she could go with and play with the other kids there - then she was excited to go.

I had some leftovers for supper and Jason was going for a bike ride.
At first I didn't want to go - I'm still feeling really tired and I truly wanted this to be a rest day.
It was nice out though that I reconsidered and said I'd go along, at least for a short ride.

This is only the second time I've been out on my bike this year but I'm really glad I went.
It was a nice evening for a bike ride.

I was craving ice cream again so we stopped and had one.
It was good but I can't make this a nightly habit.
That will through WW right out the window for sure!

When Dad passed away, we all ordered these pendants with his ashes in them.
Mine was on back order - Adrien picked it up for me when he was just in Nfld getting dad's car so I just went and picked it up yesterday.

It's just a simple circle but I really like it.

Mel stopped at the store while we were sitting there eating our ice creams and we chatted with her for quite a while.
There was a drug bust/raid in town this morning so lots of talk about who was involved, what happened, what didn't happen.

One of the people we figured was involved drove by in his truck while we were sitting there so must not have been too bad.

We headed back home after that - Jason went out and biked 10k more and I got another blog post completed.
I'm getting so close to being caught up!

Today was my Grandmother's birthday so Mom and her sister, two brothers and niece dropped by her grave site to have a 'visit'.

Rhonda, Betty, Wade, Mom and Gerald.

I had a true rest day today, didn't even make 4000 steps.
I don't feel bad though.
I'm hoping I feel refreshed for this next weeks run now.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Soooooo Tired (July 19, 2022)

I woke up feeling soooo tired this morning.

I went to bed fairly early so I should feel well rested but I just don't.

I headed off to work and it was an uneventful morning which is nice sometimes.

I did have my Tuesday morning meeting with my training team and then aside from that, I just worked on some projects that I've been wanting to get to for a while.

It was nice out today temperature wise, not too hot, not too cold.

Perfect for running actually but it was extremely windy out there.

So much so that I decided to do my run inside on the treadmill.

I just wasn't feeling up to fighting against the wind today.

I knew it was going to take me at least an hour and a half so I started work early this morning just in order to be able to take some extra time at lunch.

I found a movie to watch while I ran thinking I wouldn't get to watch the whole thing (I was wrong) and this one popped up, Hector and the Search for Happiness.
It was a cute movie and it kept my attention so that was a bonus.

I had to stop for the washroom one time and then I also had a phone call appointment with mom's doctor at 1:30 (she called me on Friday to say she has another UTI, she gets them regularly).

Aside from that though, the run was pretty smooth.
I just put the pace at a 4, covered over the display with a towel so I couldn't watch it and ran.

It did take me far longer than I expected to get the 12k (7.5miles) completed.
I was able to watch the whole movie and still had to run a little bit afterwards but I got it done and that's the main thing.

My check in video for today.

The afternoon at work was very quiet - I think Blair and I were the only ones there.

When I got home, I did some laundry, cooked up some supper then got back to blogging.
I'm getting close to being caught up so that's given me some momentum to keep going.

Kody texted to see if Jason could watch Freya tomorrow while he took Haylee to a job interview and since Jason is off tomorrow, we decided to just go pick her up and keep her overnight.

Also - I had a craving for an ice cream.

Hunter was outside when we were picking up Freya so we invited him to come along for ice cream too.
These two play so well together.
She just loves him and he is so kind and gentle with her.
It's so nice to see.

I asked him if he wanted to have a sleepover on the weekend and he's looking forward to it.
We took him back home then tried to get to be early but I think it was midnight before it was finally lights out.
No wonder I'm so tired all the time!

That's it for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In and So Tired (July 18, 2022)

Freya spend the night last night and the idea was that I would drop her off to Kody this morning on my way to work.

Well - she was having none of that.

She did not want me to leave and she was crying and it's so hard for me to just leave her when she is like that.

Haylee was supposed to start a new job today but they texted to say that they didn't need her today so I asked her if she'd come over and lay down with Freya and so she did.

Freya still wasn't crazy about the idea of me leaving - she wanted me to work in my 'office' in the house.

I finally convinced her that I had to go because I had a meeting and she was ok with that.

I know I could just left and let her cry it out but I didn't want to.

I want her to know that I'm always there for her if she needs me - nothing is more important to me than that and making sure she feels safe even though I know perfectly well that she is, you just don't know what is going on in that little brain of hers.

Anyway.....

Today was weigh in day and for once I was actually looking forward to it because I knew I was really careful about what I ate all week and I tracked everything and stayed within my WW points range.

I was 193.8 lbs which was awesome.

That's a drop of 11 lbs since last weigh in which I was really proud of.
However, that being said, I was super tired for my run yesterday so I feel like I'm not eating enough.
I need to find the sweet spot between too little and too much.

I'm going to keep trying though.
I really want to reach my goal of 144 but first I just want to get back to 179.
It may not happen until after the marathon but I'm going to try to stay on track as much as I can until then.

I was feeling really tired when I woke up and I had 8k to run today so I decided that I'd wait and do it after work just to let myself rest up.

Then as lunch time approached, I changed my mind and decided I wanted to get out there and get it done.

I had some macaroni salad for breakfast along with half of a ham and cheese sandwich, an apple, a banana and a couple coffees and that was all around 10 so my belly had 2 hours to settle, I figured I'd be good to go.

This is my 'happy that the run is over for the day' face.

I did a loop kind of around the center of town - I wanted to be near my place in case I needed the washroom.
So I did some overlapping but that's ok.

My exercise details and average heart rate.

My average pace and splits.
It started off ok but you can see that I get progressively slower.
I was just feeling so tired and that last km was tough - I wanted to quit but I didn't.
This marathon training is no joke.

My training check in video for today.

Work is kind of quiet right now, it always seems to be in the summer when everyone is on vacation but it's nice because it gives me a chance to work on things that are not high priority that kind of sit on the back burner until I get a chance to do them.

I got a couple projects like that done today and it felt good to get them off my plate finally.

I didn't really follow WW today - I didn't go crazy or anything, I just didn't track, but back at it tomorrow.

When I got home from work I didn't feel like doing much so I just sat and worked on my blog.

I keep notes for the days that I miss and I always seem to get behind when we go on vacation but we were away a LOT over the last couple months so I was super behind.

I got a lot accomplished tonight though and that felt so good.
I made it to July so only 18 days behind now.

I'm getting there!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Today's Run Was Tough (July 17, 2022)

I thought about heading out of town today to find a place to go run the 27k that I had to do but in the end, decided to do it here.

I figured I could kind of split it into 3 portions of 9k each.

I planned to do the first 9k at the top of town, the second at the middle section of town and then the last 9k at the bottom of town.

I was nervous about having to go to the bathroom so I figured if I split it that way, I'd never be too far from a washroom.

I had wanted to get up early and get out there but I was really tired and I sleeping in and getting extra rest was important so I ended up not getting out of bed until 9:30.

I had a coffee, an energy drink and a banana.
I let it settle and set out around 11:15.

I figured it was going to take me about 4 hours to get it done, my plan of action was just to take it slow and steady.

The first 9k were pretty good, I stopped in at the house, used the washroom, had some water and grabbed some energy gummies and gummy bears to munch on if needed and headed back out.

I got about 5k done in the middle section of town and it was feeling pretty tough.
I had to go to the washroom again so I headed back to the house a bit earlier than I wanted but sometimes when you gotta go, you gotta go!

I had eaten the gummies in that 5k, then at home I had lots of water and I also sat down and had a bit of a rest.

That probably wasn't a great idea.

I also changed my shoes because my alphaflys were starting to feel pinchy on my toes and I was starting to get blisters on my insteps.

After a few minutes, I headed out again and from there on, it was just tough.

I ate gummies, went as slow as I could, walked for a few minutes here and there but by the 18k mark, I was really struggling.

My feet were sore, my boobs were chafing underneath, I was exhausted, I was hot.
I was just in a bad place both mentally and physically.

I had to stop and walk then I'd try to run again but I couldn't sustain it.
I tried a couple times but by 18.47k I was just done.

I was pretty far away from home so it was quite a walk to get back there.
The bugs were insane and I was feeling miserable.

I was so disappointed in myself that I couldn't do it.
I feel like if I can't run 27k, how in the heck am I going to be able to run 42k?

So I did 18 out of 27k.
Means I was 9k short of what was scheduled.

Exercise details and average heart rate.

My average pace and splits.
You can see things started out pretty good but then by the end there it was tough.

My first video check in for today.

When I did get home, I had a nice long, hot bath.
It felt good.
Then I went to the store and picked up a few things.

While I was in the bath I was thinking that I hadn't eaten much this morning before heading out so that was likely another contributing factor to my not being able to finish.

I've been following WW really well this week and not eating any extra but I'm running a lot so I really probably should be eating a bit extra.

I also decided that I would hop on the treadmill after to get the other 9k in for today.
It isn't the same as doing it all at once but at least I will have done it and I'll meet the km total for the week.

I had a half of a ham & cheese sandwich and some macaroni salad and just chilled for the afternoon.

Around 6 pm, I went downstairs and hopped on the treadmill.

It took me a lot longer than I thought it would to get the 9k done (5.6 miles) but I did it.
I can't say I felt good when it was done because to be honest, I felt exhausted and sore but I'm glad I did it.

My second check in video for today.

Kody called while I was on the treadmill to see if Freya could come over, she'd been wanting to all day so of course I said to bring her by.
I was still on the treadmill, so she hopped on with me a bit then I got her all situated in mom's chair with a movie and spicy cheesies and she stayed there until Jason came home.

It was late by that point but she really wanted to go to the park so Jason took her.
I couldn't move off the couch so I skipped it.
I took some Tylenol, drank some water and just tried to rest.
I was in actual pain though.

I have one more 27k run on my training schedule and I'm really going to plan for it this time.
I'm going to carb load for a few days beforehand and I'm going to find a place to do it that is fairly flat and has really long trail or at least a 13k stretch where I can do and out and back.

Going to set myself up for success!

Jason posted some pictures of their sunset playdate at the park.
She just loves this little dress - wants to wear it night and day.

Tire swing.

Slide.

When they came home, I was ready for bed.
She wanted to stay so we let her.
I planned on just dropping her off to Kody in the morning before I went to work.

I didn't fall asleep as quickly as I would have liked but it didn't take as long as it normally does.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
