Heading Home with Lots of New Memories (July 4, 2026)

We have made it to the end of another trip.

We have to head back to Dartmouth today as we fly out early in the morning.

So we spent the morning getting ready and packing up.

Kody, Haylee and the girls headed out early as they were going to spend time with Kody's dad but Jason and I had no plans in Dartmouth so we just took our time.

Lisa left first thing in the morning to head to Cape Breton with Pam.

Tricia and Gilles were there working and Gilles ended up in the hospital.

So Pam and Lisa were headed over to help them out as they were there with no vehicle.

They ended up releasing Gilles and so they all came back to the island but we didn't get to see them before we left.

We went to Summerside and stopped in at Water St. Bakery for subs.

I would have got biscuits and ginger cookies too but alas, they did not have any.

We went for one last walk on the water front.

We really lucked out on the weather while we were here.
We had checked earlier in the week and it was supposed to rain all week but thankfully that didn't happen and we had lovely weather.

We stopped and got a gift certificate at a restaurant in Summerside as a thank you to Lisa and Todd for having us then we dropped it back at the house, loaded up and headed to NS.

We stayed at the Halifax Airport Hotel.
It was super expensive but a crappy hotel.

We all shared one room because it was so expensive.

We all crammed into the two double beds - not ideal but we'll manage for one night.
I took our car rental and filled up the gas so we'd be ready to go in the morning.

Haylee posted a bunch more pictures of our trip - here they are.

I love this one of Eden - her big smile just lights up her face.
