We Made it to Halifax (June 25, 2026)

We arrived in Halifax right on time.

Hello Halifax.

We walked over to the car rental area at the airport and picked up our vehicles.
Kody and Haylee took the girls with them as there were going to try to meet up with Kody's dad.

Having snacks in the car.

Happy girl!

She was going to be meeting her Papa Ronnie for the first time.

We aren't able to get into our VRBO until 3 pm so we decided to go for a walk by the lake in Dartmouth.

It was a gorgeous day and all the flowers were out in bloom.

The rhododendron's look so lovely.

The lake was looking so beautiful too.

I always used to walk around this lake when I lived here, I find it so calming and soothing.

I love the shape of this tree.

I couldn't stop taking pictures of all of the flowers.

This makes me want to put a garden in immediately although I don't think it would do well in Swan Hills.

More pretty flowers.

I wish I could do landscaping like this.

This is the duck pond next to the lake that I always walked around as well.

The fountain in it is very pretty.

These were the biggest ducks I've ever seen.

More pretty rhododendrons - I love this color.

And OMG - these trees though!

After our walk, we went to a bagel spot by the bridge that we like.
They do Montreal style bagels and they are really good.

We shared a salmon bagel and a pastrami one.
They were fantastic.

We drove around a bit and did some shopping at the mall but we were both getting really tired by this point.
We decided to head out to our VRBO - it was about 40 minutes away in Mount Uniacke.
We were going to get there around 2.
I was talking to Kody and he said they were already heading there, he said all the girls were sleeping.

When we got there, I thought I'd get in touch with the owner and see if we could get in an hour early but when I went to send them the message, I saw they'd messaged me around 10 to say that the place was ready and we could go in early if we wanted.

Wish I'd seen that sooner but at least we were able to get in.

It was a cabin right on the lake - it was tiny but I loved the deck.

It was a lovely day, we went down and checked out the lake.

Freya found herself a great stick!

I think Eden felt like a big girl walking on the dock.

The water in the lake was so clear and lovely.

After our quick look around, we all went and laid down for naps - we were exhausted.

We slept for several hours then when we got up it was dark but we were all feeling rested so it was good.

The teeny tiny bathroom.

There was a Jessie's Pizza in Mount Uniacke so we ordered some pizza, garlic fingers and donair meat for pick up and that's what we had for supper.

The room was so tiny that we didn't even have enough room to keep our suitcases in there.

Surprise in our suitcase.

Nice - a little Eden - just what I always wanted.

We just chilled for the evening and I think we were all in bed fairly early.

Got all of my steps in.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
