PEI - Shining Waters, Cows Ice Cream and The Deckhouse (July 2, 2026)

We had plans to take the kids to Shining Waters today which is a family amusement park in Cavendish.
We were going to be meeting some of the family there.

We had to make a few stops on the way so got there later than we were hoping but that's ok.

The first ride we saw when we got in the park was this one - perfect for Eden.

It's like she didn't know what to think.

We just got there but we could already feel the heat - it was sweltering.

Around and around she goes.

She and Freya each did one more ride then we headed straight for the splash park area because IT WAS HOT!

We changed into our swim gear then met the family up at the kiddie area.

Alison, Brodie and their girls were there, Danielle and her boys and Jimmy, Kayla and their three girls.

There were little slides and things that sprayed water for the kids.

It was also a shallow pool so you could sit in it and stay cooled off while being close enough to the kids to keep an eye on them.

They had big water slides which is where Jen and the boys headed a soon as they got there.

We spent the first hour or so just hanging out in the shallow pool.

Then we found out that there was actually a real pool so we headed over there.

It was on the other side of the big water slides.
We took the girls and swam in there for another hour or so - maybe even longer.
The water was just the perfect temperature.

We did eventually get out of the pool and get dressed so we could go check out the rest of the park.

Freya wanted to go on the big slide so Haylee took her.

Weeeee!

She went down a couple times then we made our way over to the roller coaster.

Freya wanted to go on so Jen took her, Alison, Leah and Mia all went too.

There they go.

Put your hands up in the air.

Leah with her hands in the air already.

Kody and Freya.

Jen's got her hands up in the air.

Eden wanted to go as well - we weren't sure if they would let her get on but they did.

It was just a small roller coaster but the kids liked it.

Eden loved it, as soon as she got off, she wanted to go right back on.

She went on about four times right in a row, the last time she even put her hands up in the air like the other kids, it was so cute.
She would have went again but a thunder and lightning storm was rolling in so they closed the park down and made everyone leave.

Making our way out of the park.

Jen and her boys.

Brodie ended up heading home early so Alison and the girls stayed and were getting a ride home with us.

Trying to get the kids all arranged to take a picture.

It was like wrangling a herd of monkeys but we did it.

Kody and Haylee and the girls ended up going to Ripley's but the rest of us all headed home.

We did make a pit stop at the boardwalk to get an ice cream at Cows though.

We dropped the kids off to Pam's then decided to go back to Summerside to get some supper.
We went for a walk first along the boardwalk - the rain had passed and it was nice out again.

We found this place, The Deckhouse and decided to go there for supper.

The seating area was upstairs.

Jason

Moi.

We shared some chowder and it was very good.

I had fish tacos.

Jason had a spicy chicken burger.
The food was good.

When we got back to the house, Jason went straight to bed.
He still isn't feeling the best - he keeps saying that he's feeling better but I'm not sure I believe him.
I've never seen him like this before.

I did not reach my step goal.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
