Jason is still not feeling well so we had another lazy morning.
Kody, Haylee and the girls set off for Lunenburg and I just chilled with my coffee while Jason slept in.
We had a little visitor on the deck this morning.
When Jason did get up, we decided to go for a drive to Wolfville.
It was raining in Mount Uniacke and Halifax, very grey and dreary too but right after we passed Windsor on the way to Wolfville, the sun came out and it was a glorious day over that way.
Our first order of business when we got there was to find a place to eat.
We parked, walked around a little and found this place.
Pizza Lupa
I didn't realize the picture turned out so blurry but you can see that they had a few appetizers, a few salads, several pizzas and then some desserts.
It was really nice inside.
Not very busy at all but it was randomly in the middle of the afternoon so not during lunch or supper.
We ordered two pizzas, one pepperoni with olives.
Then a funghi one.
Jason likes to check the under carriage - this one looks good.
We had dessert too.
It was Torta Caprese which is chocolate almond cake with espresso whipped cream.
It was ok.
We noticed some trails by the Wolfville sign where we'd parked so we headed over there to go for a walk.
This looks out into the Minas Basin which is at the end of the Bay of Fundy.
They were really nice trails made on an old railway track.
I'm so glad we decided to come here - it was a gorgeous day.
There were lots of trees along the path for shade.
But the sun could get in too.
This would be a lovely place to go for a bike ride.
Along the one side, there were some residences and a couple paths that led to wineries.
Then the other side was farm fields and beyond that, the water.
After our walk - we made a stop at Walmart then headed back to the cottage eventually.
As we were approaching Windsor, we could see the dark clouds off in the distance.
I didn't want to leave the sunshine but we kind of had to.
Jason got this little cloche and some fairy lights and put this in a tree for Freya (from Ivy).
She was just thrilled when she found it.
The kids made it back before we did - they really enjoyed their day.
Kody ended up going to Halifax for the evening to visit his friend Derek and took Freya with him.
Eden and Haylee stayed at the cottage.
Jen flew in today and she'd going to spend the evening here at the cottage with us tonight.
She will have to sleep on the couch but it's only for one night as we are all heading to PEI tomorrow.
She is very into princess dresses currently.
Jason got the girls some glow sticks so they went outdoors to play with them.
Glow sticks are cheap and so much fun for the kids.
Caught the glowstick in motion.
Trying it out as a hula hoop.
Here you fix it Papa.
Down the stairs it goes.
Haylee posted some of the pictures she's taken of the trip so far - they've been doing lots.
The big 'wave' on the Halifax waterfront.
Ice cream!
On the dock at the cottage.
Family picture.
On the dock again - this was the first night we got here.
Laughing in the truck.
Then Adrien posted this picture today - he and Hunter went fishing and Hunter caught a fish.
He looks pretty pleased about it.
Way to go buddy!
I did manage to get my steps in today.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
