Sunken Escapes, Farmer's Markets, Jessy's Pizza (Oct.13, 2025)

This is our last morning here at Sunken Escapes - I wish we had a few more days, it's so beautiful.

Woke up, opened my eyes and this was my view.

Isn't that so amazing?

Freya was still snoozing away.

The nice thing about this place is that even when I get out of bed, I'm still not very far away from her.
She really doesn't like me to leave her when she's sleeping.

I took some more pictures of the place since we'll be leaving it today.
I like the little seating area in the kitchen - it looks out to the lake.

I like the color of the cabinets and how they are rounded at the top like that.
They are nice cabinets to, the soft closing ones.

This door leads to the bathroom and there are curtains that you can pull up to cover all the windows if you do need privacy.

This is the outdoor area right in front of our pod.
The swing is about the size of a single bed - such a comfy spot to hang out.

I'm going to miss this little place, I really liked staying here.

Freya wanted to pull our luggage back to the truck.
You can't drive right into the sites so they have wagons near the entrance that you can use to haul your luggage over.

She gave it a really good try.

The pod we were in was the only one like it there but there were a couple regular cabins and then 4 of these larger places, 2 on either side of us.

The looked out towards the lake as well, they had nice big decks and I think were much larger.

I think you could open up the sides so you could see out - not the whole thing but like windows.

This is how they are set up, they are all beside each out facing the lake just kind of tucked into there own little spaces between the trees.

She's making progress.

She abandoned the cart so we could go check out the lake before we left.

The lake.
It was nice and calm today, the water was so clean and clear.

There were kayaks and these big floatie mats there to use.
If we had more time I would have loved to go out on a kayak.

There was also another big bed sized swing and a wood stove.

A bench on a platform too.

So beautiful.

Just look at all those fall colors - love it.

Just taking it all in.

This would be an awesome place to come and stay in the summer.
Unfortunately our time there had come to an end so we had to say good bye but I think we will try to come stay here again next time we come to NS.

We were hungry so Jason found us a spot to go and have some breakfast, again in Kentville.

We parked in this town square kind of area and walked over to the restaurant.
It's right in the center of town so it is really convenient.

Just some murals we walked by.

This one looks so real - almost like a billboard photo.

Of course I loved the tree.

We happened upon some random sidewalk drawings too, cute.

Another pretty tree.

Freya had my phone all through breakfast so no pictures.
Jason and I just had the regular, eggs and bacon.
Freya saw they had steak and eggs and wanted it immediately.
She ate all of it too.

We were heading back to Dartmouth today but we stopped at a few Farmer's Markets on our way out.

Guess Freya really liked this turkey.

When you come across a giant turkey I think it's a requirement to take lots of pictures is it not?

They had some hay bales painted up like Jack-o-lanterns.

More pumpkins on display.

I think this was the name of the Farmer's Market we were at.

They had so many apples.
I always get myself some Cortland apples when we are on the East coast because we don't seem to get them out West for whatever reason and I really like them.

I just love a good Farmer's Market - especially in the Fall.

I'm going to miss all the pretty colors of the trees.

I was going to get some russet apples to take home for mom and just figured I'd pick them up at the next market we came across but we didn't come across anymore.

By the time I realized that there likely weren't anymore, we'd driven too far to turn around and go back.

We figured when we got back to Dartmouth we'd just do some shopping but everything, and I do mean everything, was closed for Thanksgiving.
Even Walmart wasn't open.

So we found a play park and we took Freya there to play.
While she & Jason played, I cleaned out the truck as we were planning on dropping it off later tonight.

We went to Dairy Queen for a blizzard then to Jessy's Pizza for some supper.

There used to be a Jessy's Pizza right by where I lived in Dartmouth and Kody used to eat there all the time.
That location is gone now and this is a new location but still the same food.
I wanted a picture of Freya enjoying the pizza to send to Kody.
Doesn't really look like she's enjoying it though, ha ha,

You can just order Donair meat on it's own instead of in the Donair which is what I always used to do.
They have really good Donair meat.
It was so much though, we couldn't finish it.

We had pizza too - it was alright - I prefer a thinner crust pizza now but I did like it.

From there, we went to drop off the truck at the rental place and called an uber to pick us up and take us to the airport.
I realized in the uber that we had forgotten to fill the truck with gas so that is going to cost us.

There was a pool at the hotel so after we checked in, we took Freya for a swim.

It was a weird pool, down in the basement and it was super deep, like 9 feet.
Too deep really, it made me nervous, none of us could touch the bottom so I made Freya stay near the edge.
It was also really cold so we didn't stay in it for long.

The rest of the evening we just hung out in the room, Jason made Freya noodles and I got all the bags packed up and ready to go for tomorrow.

I'm sad our little adventure has come to an end and I'm so going to miss all the gorgeous trees and Fall colors but it was a great trip and I know there are many more adventures to look forward to in the future.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
