Another Paint Color and Craft Show (Nov.13, 2025)

I got thinking about the shiplap and what color I wanted to paint it and I had a bunch of ideas swirling round in my head.

Originally I was going to paint it the same color as the walls in the kitchen but now I've decided that want to do something different.

These are kind of the options I was thinking of:

1) Paint it white

2) Stain it with a medium color stain - like a warm wood tone

3) Choose a darker green color - same family as the green in the kitchen but darker

4) Leave it as is and put the bare pine on the walls

I discussed with Jason - he suggested that I might not like just the stained wood and I actually think he's right.

He thought more of the kitchen green would feel like too much so his choice was for a darker green.

So on my lunch, I went to the hardware and got a new green color mixed up.

I went with the darkest green on the same sample strip as the green I put in the kitchen and I'm kind of excited about it.

The craft show was on in town today so Bonnie went over at lunch and had a look around.

We had lunch there as well, hamburger soup and open face egg salad buns.

The buns were good.

I didn't end up buying anything except Bonnie and I went halves on some chocolates for the office.

After work, I promised Freya I'd take her over to the craft show so I picked her up, Zepplyn was there so she came along as well.

Freya wanted to spend her own money, she had 5 dollars and we must have went around that place 4 or 5 times with her trying to decide what she wanted to buy.

She finally decided on a snowman decoration that a little girl had made.

I also bought her an aquarium toy from a vendor that had stuff made from a 3D printer.

I also thought these little Halloween characters were cute so I picked up 3 of them for Jason.

I thought we could hang them on the Christmas Tree.

Freya wanted to come over but I was anxious to get home and start painting so I dropped her off but said Jason would stop and pick her up on his way home from work so she begrudgingly agreed to that.

As soon as I got home, I got to work painting.

I have 28 pieces to paint all together, I think I got 12 done - I only had the table to put them on to dry so I ran out of room pretty quickly.

So I still have a stack to go through but I'll work on them Saturday morning.

I also went around the edges of the wall with the primer just in case you can see any of it - I'd rather see the white than the blue underneath.
However, not that I'm looking at it, I'm going to go back on Saturday and cover those areas with green instead.
That way if you do see any of the wall behind, it will be green - that's makes far more sense.

I saw these little stars made out of fabric scraps - they seem really easy to make and I have a bunch of fabric scraps to use up so I think I might make some of them.

This is the measurements.

Jason did stop and get Freya on his way home from work so she came over and hung out for a bit.
She wanted to spend the night of course but Jason is working in the morning and I did take the day off but Bonnie, Shennelle and I are heading to the city to do some shopping.

I promised her she could come over tomorrow night for a sleep over.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
