It was a regular day at work today, nothing interesting happened.
I was looking at Instagram and saw this cute idea for Elf on the Shelf.
Cartoons used to be so much more fun.
I planned on finishing up the Christmas tree tonight.
I got everything ready to go and when Jason got home - got started.
I only had a few things put on the tree when my nephew Declan called me and said that Nanny wasn't feeling good and she wanted me to come there.
My sister is away on a course in Ontario so mom has been staying at her place with Declan.
I asked what was wrong, and I could hear her in the background saying 'not well'.
I asked if she thought she was having another stroke and she said yes.
So I told Declan to call 911 and I would head in there right away.
They just moved to the house and Declan didn't know their address so I ended up calling my sister in Ontario and she called 911.
I stopped and picked up my brother Rob and then we headed out,
Jen called to say that the ambulance had come for Mom but Declan didn't know where they were taking her.
We called 911 and they put us through to the ambulance service but they wouldn't give us any details.
Westlock has a stroke department so I figured we'd stop in there to see if she was there and sure enough, she was.
She'd just gotten there and the doctor hadn't even seen her yet.
He came in just after we got there.
Turns out mom had fainted and fallen - she had a cut on her lip and bruises on her head so they were concerned about a brain bleed so they wanted to do a CT scan.
Then they also wanted to do some xrays on her hip and chest and legs to make sure that there were no fractures anywhere.
They had to call in the tech to do the CT Scan so it was going to be a bit.
So Rob decided to take my car and head to the city to stay with Declan who was nervous being on his own and I stayed so that I could talk to the doctor when he came and just to be with mom.
They came and did her scans pretty quickly and they looked at them and said that all looked good but they wanted a specialist to look at them too.
So we got mom settled in and she went to sleep and I just sat on the chair by her bed and played my game.
