Girls, Blogging, Painting and Memorial Service (Nov.15, 2025)

The girls woke up early this morning but we turned on the projector and let them watch shows on the big screen in the bedroom and they ended up staying in bed for a couple more hours.

That allowed me to have a coffee and get a good chunk of blogging done.

I had a funeral to go to today and a few other things to do so I got the girls ready and was taking them home to Kody.

I just got their jackets on them, took a couple pictures and was about to head out the door when Kody called back to say that he'd been called to work.

I did have to go to the store and since they were all bundled up, I loaded them up into the car and off we went.

Kody made arrangements for Crystal to watch them.
She was going to the Santa Clause parade in Whitecourt and was taking them with her.
I would have liked to go too but I had a memorial service to go to here in town.

I gave the girls a bath and I washed Eden's hair against her will and she was so upset.
Freya was upset too and told me to stop hurting her.
It's sweet that she was sticking up for her sister.
I wasn't hurting her of course, kids just don't like getting their hair washed.

I got it done as quickly as I could then asked if she wanted a bubba afterwards to settle her.
She said yes, Baby Bubba.

It's so cute, she calls herself Baby especially when she's tired or upset.
Anyway, I gave her the bubba and she laid down and promptly fell asleep.

She got a bit of a nap in before Crystal came for them
I felt bad that I had to wake her up and get her dressed - she didn't want to at first but after a few minutes of coaxing she was excited to be going with Crystal and Zepplyn and Freya too of course.

After they left, I hopped in the shower and got ready for the memorial.

Larry was a co-worker of mine when I first started working at my current job.
He was so welcoming and made me feel like part of the family right from the get go.

He was quite the jokester/prankster but he was never mean spirited, he just really enjoyed a good laugh and having fun and sharing that.

I really liked him.
I also curled with his wife for a few years and she was such a nice lady.

Larry retired quite a few years ago, Jason actually took over his job when he left.

Bonnie picked me up and we went together.
The memorial was nice as memorials go.
Larry's nephew did a very nice eulogy.

Some old co-workers that I haven't seen in awhile were there like Sharon, Barb, Dan and a few others and it was nice to see them.

When I got home, I got straight to work.
I put a coat of green paint around the edges.

Then I got painting the shiplap.

I got it all painted so now the last step will be to put it up on the wall.
Jason was going to do it for me tonight but he wasn't feeling the best.
He said he'd put it up tomorrow but I think if he can just get it up on his days off that will be fine.

I spent the rest of the evening working on my blog.
I've made a lot of progress this weekend but I'm still way behind.
I think this is the farthest behind I've ever let myself get.

Crystal posted some pictures of her and the girls at the parade.

Looks like they were dressed all toasty and warm.

Eden was pretty excited when Santa went by.
I wish I could have been there, it would have been fun to see her enjoy herself so much.

I had told Crystal she could bring them back to me but Kody ended up meeting her at McDonald's when he got off work and he took the girls home.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
