Freya and Jason made a new fairy house for Ivy.
Complete with hinged doors and all.
It looks like an invited guest has taken up residency.
A troll named Weevil moved in and made quite a mess.
Jason is pretty excited for Freya to see the note.
That won't happen though until we get back home at the end of the weekend.
I left work a little early, we picked up both girls and headed to the city.
We have some Halloween plans this weekend with Crystal, Zepplyn and the girls.
We had a few things to do first so we did that then headed over to Fort Edmonton Park and we met Crystal and Zepplyn there.
When we first walked in we headed down a path that had a bunch of pumpkin head scarecrows.
There were a bunch of them all down this walkway.
There were piles of carved pumpkins all along the walkway too.
There was a spooky house with bloody laundry hanging on the line then this scene set up in the backyard with a body hanging from the tree.
A vicious looking dog in the dog house.
Someone with an axe through their face.
A cool old car - the lighting on it just elevated the creepy factor immensely.
There was a big giant barn - loved the 'DARK' on it.
There were lots of dressed up characters around, like this guy.
Some of them were really scary and creepy.
A few of them stopped to interact with Eden and I was curious as to what her reaction would be but she wasn't impressed at all.
She just looked at them and smiled a bit and that was it.
It was kind of funny.
Some areas were lit up better - this is the theater - this is where we went and saw Titanic.
There were four different themed haunted houses around the park and we made our way to the first one.
I decided to not go through it with Eden - I wasn't sure how the stroller would work through it and I'm not much of a haunted house person so I didn't mind.
Eden and I walked around a bit then just kind of found a spot to hang out and wait for the others to come out.
There were some food trucks so we got something to eat.
I really wanted to try the smash burger from this food truck with the purple yam bun and I'm so glad I did - it was delicious.
One of the best burgers I've had in a long long time.
We went to another haunted house and it was supposed to be a 45 minute wait so we all got in line.
I waited for about 20 minutes then we came to a point in the line where a Dark staffer was standing directing things and I asked how long of a wait from there - they said about 30 minutes.
Eden was getting restless in her stroller so I decided to leave them and just walk around with her.
I ended up finding spot by a fire - they had a bunch of fires in different spots with benches around them so you could sit and warm up although we lucked out and it was a beautiful evening so not really necessary but still a nice esthetic.
Anyway - Eden and I sat and waited for the others to come out.
She watched videos on my phone and that kept her occupied which was good because it was close to an hour before the others finally came out.
There were still a few more haunted houses the others wanted to go in, I didn't really want to so I said I was going to take Eden and head back to the AirB&B - Jason and Freya would get a drive back to the house with Crystal and Zepplyn.
So we all walked towards the exit and saw this performer along the way.
It looked super cool in person.
So they headed over to Cursery Rhymes and Eden & I headed to the house we rented.
It was dark and I had a heck of a time trying to find the place.
It took me about 5x driving around it to find it then another 5 or so to find where to park.
Meanwhile back at Dark - Freya was having a great time.
They met some more characters there while they were waiting to see the third haunted house.
What a cool costume.
These really tall costumes always look so amazing.
They even got to meet this guy who is on the ad for Dark.
They said the last haunted house they went to was their favorite.
They didn't bother to try to see the last one, the line was very long and they just didn't want to wait.
They got back to the house about an hour after Eden & I did.
We hung out for a bit but then it was time for bed - we have to be up for a run in the morning.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
