Fernie and Family Time (Oct.17, 2025)

We were up this morning and back on the road by 10 am.
We figured there was no sense leaving too much earlier since we can't get into our VRBO until after 4 pm anyway.

Driving through Frank Slide.

The mountains always look so amazing.

You can see them from before Calgary but the closer you get to them the more majestic they become.

We hit a bit of yucky weather going through Crows Nest Pass and that slowed us down a little.

We got to the VRBO after 4 pm, Jen, Rob, Mom, Declan, Adrien, Hunter and Alivia had all just arrived as well.

This is the view of the mountains out of the window.
There were views of the mountains all around.

The house was great - there were these cubbies right when you walked in that were wonderful.

The dining room with a giant table that could almost seat all of us.
It actually probably could have fit all of us if we tried.
This is where we ended up spending most of our time.

Alivia is getting so grown up.

The kitchen area.

The outdoor seating area right outside of the kitchen.

Then upstairs there were two bedrooms, a balcony with seating that looked towards the river in the back with a sauna.
There was also a living room area.
The downstairs had 3 more bedrooms and a big cozy seating area with a giant tv.
I don't know why I didn't take pictures.

The place was great, lots of rooms and space.
I think we might try to rent it again in the summer.

Kody and Haylee got there with the girls a bit later - they stopped in town for supper.
They took the girls out and took some photos.

Freya.

The color of the sky looks so nice.

Contemplating life I guess.

Eden.

She was sitting right in mud and her clothes got so filthy - I don't think they'll ever be clean again.

The girls were all so happy to see Hunter.
Eden took a special liking to him and was walking around all weekend calling out 'Hunter' and following him around.

Adrien was really happy to get to spend some time with his grand-daughter Whitney.
She kept trying to climb the stairs like the other kids so he was kept busy keeping her safe.

Eden can sometimes be a little rough with other kids, she takes stuff from them and hides it but she was good this weekend with Whitney.

It was so sweet, they'd say Hi to each other and just smile and look at each other.

We got a puzzle on the go right away.

They also played a few board games.

I stuck to the puzzles.

Some of them went up and tested out the sauna.

They had my phone most of the time and were taking selfies and taking videos.

I love this picture of Freya.

We ordered pizza in for supper and had lots of snacks.

It was so nice to get to hang out with the family - I can't remember the last time all of us siblings were together.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
