Hap's, Cheesecake Cafe and Swimming (Oct.26, 2025)

We had to be out of our airbnb by 10 so we were up early and getting ready to head out.

Kody was wanting to head back home but we all went to have breakfast first.

We picked the OEB just around the corner from where we were but it was an hour wait so we went over to Hap's instead.

We called ahead and reserved a table just to make sure we wouldn't have to wait.

Car selfie on the way over.

Eden got her own apple juice and drank the whole entire thing.
She watched videos while we were waiting.
It took forever for them to take our orders but once they did, our food was there very quickly.

Freya and Jason.

Crystal and Zepplyn.

After we ate, Kody headed home and took Eden with him.
Freya stayed with us and Zepplyn actually came with us too because Crystal had a funeral to go to in the city.

We made a trip to Costco so I could pick up chocolate bars for Halloween - the girls had fun going around and trying all the samples.

We took the girls swimming at the pool in Spruce Grove for a couple of hours.
It was a nice pool, no waves but the water was warm which I loved.

Then we took the girls to the Cheesecake Cafe for supper.
I had their ginger beef which is actually really good.

After we dropped Zepp off at Leanne's (Crystal's sister) because the funeral had gone on longer than expected and Crystal was going to be awhile yet.

Then we still had to make a stop at Walmart for the essentials.
So it was later than we expected when we finally left the city, close to 7.

About 15 minutes outside of town I started seeing a few flakes in the headlights and within minutes it was full on snowing and I saw that the sides of the road were completely snow covered.
So was town and the yard and everything when we got home.

It was hard to believe as it was so nice when we left the city just 2 hours ago.
I was hoping the snow would hold off until after Halloween for the kids but looks like it is here to stay from this dump.

Jason got Freya a frog dissection kit at Walmart tonight so while I put the groceries away, they played with it together.

She has such a great imagination and Jason is so good at playing with her.
I could here them talking about giving the frog an injection so that it wouldn't hurt then 'Oh no, we gave him the wrong one'.
She talked about giving him the air tube to breathe and all kinds of other stuff she either picked up from movies she's watched or just came up with on her own.

It's very sweet how they interact - he is so patient with her and he treats her like an equal - like her opinions and ideas really matter to him because they really do.

She found her letter from Weevil the Troll too when she got here - she thought it was odd but funny.
She had a letter from Ivy too - she just loves Ivy.

Jason ran her home just before 10.

I ate horribly on the weekend and today - just whatever I wanted really.
I know my weigh in will be bad tomorrow, I almost don't want to weigh in.

I will though and I bought groceries tonight to set myself up for success.
I keep on trying and falling off track but I'm not going to quit trying.

I have a good feeling this time, I feel like I'm really in the right mindset and ready to get to it.

I saw a YouTuber paint this postcard on Instagram and I loved it - so cute and easy to do.
I'm going to give it a try.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
