Jason had to be to the start line for 7:30 so we were up super early and headed in to Wolfville.
The starting line was in front of the bleachers in the football field at Acadia - we found a parking spot and headed over there.
Everybody was doing their stretches and getting warmed up and ready to go.
Jason's number, 2088
Jason was ready to go!
He went and got lined up at the starting line and Freya and I found a spot to watch him go by.
And they are off...
Jason was literally the last one to cross the starting line.
After we saw Jason off, we were walking back to the car and the runners all started passing us so we stopped to see if we would see Jason.
We did see him go by, he was making some ground already.
Pretty orange tree - it's lost most of it's leaves.
Wolfville is a really pretty university town.
This time of year it just shines with all of the gorgeous fall colors.
It's got that small town feel.
We went to Starbucks, I got coffee and Freya got some cake pops then we went and found a spot on the marathon route where we could watch Jason go by.
The sun was out and shining by now - it was shaping up to be another beautiful day.
There comes Jason.
He grabbed a water at the water station then carried on.
Freya and I were cheering him on (he later told me that he didn't even see us).
These are some pictures Jason took himself on the run.
He said the route was really pretty.
The sky was looking extra gorgeous.
Some of the views he was treated to.
We left there and went back to find a place to park so we could go wait at the finish line to see Jason finish.
I had to park kind of far away so I took a picture of the streets where I parked so I'd be able to find it later.
So many pretty trees.
These were just walking down to the main street.
We popped into a store and got some bristol board and markers so we could make some signs for Jason.
I don't really know how the route went but we came across some runners again.
Jason wasn't in the pack.
I was still anxious to get over to the finish line though, I wanted to be there when he went through.
There were lots of people gathering over by the finish line.
We found a spot in the bleachers to watch for Jason.
Papa's cheering squad.
She went to the top of the bleachers so she could see better.
I last minute decided to move right down onto the track so I could see better.
Jason came so fast I didn't have time to get my camera out, just caught a couple shots of him heading into the finish line.
Just about there.
He did it.
I'm so proud of him!
It took us a few minutes to find Jason after he went through the finish line.
Running to congratulate Papa after his run.
The sign Freya made for Jason.
He thought it was pretty funny.
This is the one I made for him.
We walked back towards the car - Jason wanted to stretch his legs out.
We found a spot to get something to eat.
They had outdoor seating and it was a nice day so we sat out there.
Jason made Freya a sign on his napkin.
The restaurant was called the Kings Arms Commons
We have been blessed with the weather this trip.
Another beautiful tree - I couldn't resist.
Kentville always does these pumpkin displays this time of year so we went to have a look at them.
This years theme was Hollywood.
There was a camera man.
Freya's new friend.
The red carpet.
Jason and Freya were running up and down the hill.
Riding the horse.
This horse had a pumpkin rider so Freya was the passenger.
Awww, her buddy.
She wanted to roll down the hill.
There she goes.
Freya on the hill.
Some pumpkin faces.
Big smile
There was a big old graveyard across the street so we went over to have a walk through it.
Jason loves graveyards.
He wanted to show Freya how to do etchings or tracings of the markings on the headstones.
It was a nice old cemetery, lots of character.
You can see the Hollywood sign across the road there.
After that, we found a playground back in Wolfville that we took Freya too so she could play.
Jason and Freya played right until it got dark.
There were some nice color trees around the park.
Ha ha - Jason found this funny t-shirt online.
After the park, we drove all the way back to Kentville to go to this restaurant Jason found online with really good reviews.
Maritime Express Cider Company
It was in this old building.
As you can see, the interior was so charming.
Freya.
We had this chips and dip dish and it was fantastic.
Freya had spaghetti.
She was not in the mood for pictures.
Jason and I had burgers - they were quite good.
Back at home, Morgan and Kalem put on a Thanksgiving dinner for everyone.
Kody and Eden went over, so did Mom, Rob, Jen, Declan and Freya.
Looks pretty delicious.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
