Las Vegas Day 6 - Shopping, Swimming, Momofuku (Mar.18, 2023)

Finally, we woke up to sunshine.

It was so lovely to look out and finally see some nice weather.

Jason went out for a run but it was a rest day for me so I got ready, got a coffee for myself and went for a little mini walk just to keep busy until Jason got back.

We walked over to Viva las Arepas to have another Cachapa then we also tried the chicharon or pork fried rinds and fried yucca root.

It was good.

When he got back to the hotel, we went to check out the pool area.

It wasn't open the last time that we were here, they were doing renovations and it just opened for the season this weekend.

It is a good size pool with some shaded areas.

There is a bar area.

Some big round seats around the pool but I think you have to reserve them.
It was nice and I think we may come back later this afternoon for a swim.

I wanted to get our grand-daughters each a little something so we went shopping off strip for a bit.

Jason got this cute little dress for Freya.

We also called her for a little video chat - we are really missing her.

She was making faces.

Showing us her tongue.

She's always being a little goofball.

There was a little ice cream shop in the shopping area we were at so we went in to get a treat and it was all themed with 80's and 90's pop culture paraphernalia.
It was really neat, brought back some memories for sure.

Han Solo

R2D2 with the Princess Leia hologram.

Wrestlemania poster, Prince.

The villains from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I forgot their names.

Orko from the He-Man Masters of the Universe cartoon.
I used to watch it with my brothers & sisters when we were young.

Jason got a banana split.

We found each of the girls a little outfit, picked up a few other things then we headed back to the Strat and spent a couple hours at the pool.
It was a little chilly getting in and took some time but once I was in I was fine.
We stayed there right until it closed.

Then since it was our last night we decided to take the monorail down to the other end of the strip then just spend the rest of the evening walking back.

The Sphere was looking particularly beautiful when we passed it.

So lovely.

We got off the monorail at Bally's/Paris since we'd not gotten off at that station before.

The Paris is really beautiful inside (and out).

The sky was looking so gorgeous.

We decided to take in the fountains one more time.

My handsome honey.

We got to see an evening show with all the lights so that was nice.

We decided to pop into the food court at the Cosmopolitan.

I went to Momfuke and got noodles and chicken - it was really good but I couldn't eat it all.

When we came out, we caught another fountain show.

The Eiffel Tower was looking so nice all lit up.

The lights everywhere are nice.

I'm glad we got at least one nice evening while we were here.

The Sphere was looking cool as always.

Everyone checking out the Sphere.

When we got back to the hotel, we did a bit of gambling and Jason ended up winning 200 and so did I so that was a nice cap to the trip.

It wasn't the best weather but it's still been a nice trip but we are also looking forward to seeing Freya.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
