Birthday Dinner City Trip (Apr.20, 2024)

Bonnie, Nadine and I headed to the city today for my birthday dinner trip.

We left town about 8:30 am, made a stop at Michael's and Homesense then headed to the movie.

We saw Wicked Little Letters.

It was a cute, quirky movie and we all really enjoyed it.

The Landmark theater has reclining seats - they are the best.

I was going to be 'good' as far as my eating goes today but that totally went out the window, I had popcorn with the buttery topping and lots of seasonings, then I had sour candies too.

After the movie, we did a bit more shopping.

I bought a couple new tops at Walmart.

A long sleeve that I found that I liked, I got it in a blue and a cream color.

We hit up Crumbl cookies and I got a chocolate chip cookie and a maple cookie.

I only ate half of them, saved the rest to take home for Jason.

For supper we went to dinner at Brown's Social.
Nadine and I.

Bonnie and I.

I had the Sante Fe salad and it was really good.

I was too full at that point for dessert but on the way home we stopped at DQ in Westlock and I had a blizzard.

Meanwhile, at work today, Jason made a chocolate peanut butter mousse pie for the guys for tomorrow.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Dance, Sheep & Virtual Reality (Apr.19, 2024)

I had a very busy day at work today trying to play catch up with all my emails and other work I missed from being in meetings all week long so the day just flew by.

Alivia has dance competition in the city this weekend.
They did one dance today and her group did great, they got gold.

I stopped at the fabric store yesterday before I left the city and got this quilted fabric and this black fabric (for a really great deal) because I had this idea that I wanted to make this sheep that Linda DIY by Design made out of wood.
I think it turned out super cute, I wish I stuffed the feet/legs a bit more so they didn't bend but all in all I was really happy with it.

Mel and Alivia are in the city for the weekend for Alivia's dance and Adrien has to go to work super early tomorrow morning so he asked if Hunter could spend the night.
He brought him over later in the evening, around 9:30.

He brought over his virtual reality headset with him and he played that for a bit before he went to bed.
It's pretty funny listening to him play.

Back Home I Go (Apr. 18, 2024)

We finished up our team meetings yesterday but I still went in to the St Albert office to work this morning.
It's payroll week so I wanted to get that done and catch on some emails that I wasn't able to get to this week.
I finished up around noon, made a couple of stops in town then headed home.

Today was Crystal's birthday - they were in the city to watch Zepplyn in her dance competition then they went back to Rita's for the night and celebrated with cake.
Eden looks excited about the candle.

When I got home, I unpacked then just chilled for the evening.
I started reading this book I picked up at Costco that Shennelle had highly recommended to me and so far, it's very, very good.
I'm hooked.

Jason got home from work around 7:30 and I was so happy to see him - I missed him.
Jason's birthday is coming up soon and I'm trying to think of ideas of things to get him, I thought he would like this shirt.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Meetings are Done (Apr.17, 2024)

When I looked out the window this morning I was surprised to see a layer of snow/ice over everything - I thought we were done with winter.

The drive to the office was a bit nerve wracking.

I slid a little in the car so after that, I made sure to drive super slow and keep lots of distance between myself and the cars around me.

Everyone else was being extra careful too - for the most part.

Our meetings went well this morning then for lunch, we all went to The Cajun House for lunch.

I got the shrimp bisque and a simon salad which had butter lettuce, peppers, chicken, alfalfa sprouts and a vinaigrette - it was really good.

We finished the rest of our meetings early, around 3 pm, so I just found an office to work in and finished out the afternoon catching up on some of my regular stuff.

I likely could have gone home as I'm not needed for the meetings tomorrow but I had a few things I needed to do so I decided I'd stay the last night, go what I needed to do, work half a day at the St Albert office tomorrow then head back to Swan Hills.

After work, I popped over to Costco to pick a few things up for Mom and grabbed myself a Subway sub for supper then headed back to my room.

I got my blog all caught up and had an early night to try to catch up on some of that sleep I missed out on last night.

Jason sent me some pictures from yesterday when Freya was hanging out.

She loves making things and here they made 'pregnant' bananas.
They performed surgery on a banana, cut out a section in the center then put in a baby.

Then she also took some selfies.

She looks like a wild child here.

(April 16, 2024)

I got to the office early so I could do some work before our meetings.

We went to Smash Burger for lunch - I had the chicken breast sandwich and it was really good - the bun was so soft.

We were supposed to all go out together for supper but everyone said they were full so we'll go tomorrow night instead so we were all on our own for supper.

Right after work I went to Dollar Tree and got some tablecloths, cutlery and napkins and stuff for Morgan's baby shower.
Then I got myself a chicken shawarma at Pita Bake for my supper.

I stopped at Value Village to have a look around for fabric and craft supplies but the prices they charge for second hand stuff that is donated to them is outrageous and I just think it's awful so I wouldn't buy anything.

I spent the evening hanging out in my hotel room getting caught up on my blog.

I called Jason to see what he was up to, he had a visitor.

She's still super into Pogo sticks and we've been getting into Mustard Art to make it fun for her.
Jason's creation today.

He made bread today and he said it turned out really well.
Glad I'm not there because I would NOT be able to resist freshly baked bread.
I've not been tracking but I've been making very good choices so far this week - I haven't been able to weigh myself each day to see how it's going so far but I feel good.

I had a heck of a time falling asleep tonight, after midnight I was still wide awake.
I'm attributing that to all of the coffee I had today - I normally have only two and never after lunch.
I think I had 5 today, some later in the afternoon (meetings can sometimes be hard, long and boring) so I really paid for that tonight.

Tomorrow I have to keep it to the 2 coffee if I want to get any sleep.

Wednesday 17 April 2024

Off to the City for the Week (April 15, 2024)

Weigh in day - I'm dreading it a bit because I know it's going to be bad.
I ate nuts and bagels and sweets all weekend, not great for weight loss success.

I was 217.4 lbs.

That's up 3.6 from last week - time to crack down, seriously!
Get your sh*t together April!

I had a meeting at the office first thing this morning then I had to hit the road for St. Albert.
I'm going to be in there for meetings with the rest of my LMS team starting this afternoon until Thursday.
We weren't meeting up until 1:30 but I got to the city early so I stopped and grabbed myself a sub from subway then I went to the office early and tried to get some work done.

I did stop and have lunch with the St Albert admins - it's been awhile since I've seen them all so it was nice to catch up.

Then at 1:30 I got together with Mark, Carson, Jason and Pam.
We've been working together as a team for over 5 years now but this is the first time that we've all gotten together for an in person meeting so that was really nice.

After work, we all went out for supper together to Earls (except Mark, he had family he had to meet up with).
I had a Santa Fe salad - I'm really trying to get back on track and make healthier choices.

After supper, I went to Walmart and picked up some stuff to snack on, bananas, apples, oranges, carrots, blueberries and boom chicka pop.
I'm determined to get back down under 200 this year.
I know I can do it.

Then I just checked into the hotel and spent the rest of the evening chilling in my room.

Jason sent me some pictures for my blog that we took on the weekend.
I barely had my phone so I didn't take any myself.

He also sent me some other random pictures he's taken of Freya over the last few weeks so I thought I'd share them here.

Such a cool dudette.

Jason picked this dress out at the second hand store for her and it looks so cute on her.

She is such a great artist - I'm super impressed by her.

She loves having a bath with her bathing suit on and turning on the jets so that the bubbles over flow.

Rosewood Cafe, New Park Friends (April 14, 2024)

Jason was up early and headed out for a run then we got packed up and left the VRBO.

I woke up with a splitting headache and couldn't shake it for most of the day.

Rita, Crystal and Zepplyn headed off to do their thing and Jason, Freya and I went to Rosewood Cafe for breakfast.

Freya took Grandma's picture.

And a selfie.

I got a raspberry cardamon cruller for us to share.

Jason got the cali burrito.

I tried their burger - it was very good and their hash browns/fried potatoes are fantastic.
The food is so good here.

I ordered Freya a fried egg and some bacon.
Testing out the yolk.

She ate it all - loved the bacon.

It was nice out so we found a park to take Freay too just so she could play for awhile and enjoy some of the sunshine before we had to get in the car and head home.

Freya made a friend and Jason chased them around the playground - they thought that was great.

Getting some of the energy used up.

The park had one of those big round swings free so I sat on that for quite a while and just watched them playing - I was still nursing quite a headache.

Jason pushed her on the baby swing.

I don't know what he was saying to her but she thought it was hilarious.

Just spinning around.

After playing for an hour or so, we were ready to head home.

She didn't want to go directly home, she wanted to come to our house of course.
She said she'd go home later but she didn't want me to take her, she wanted Kody to come pick her up.

She always wants to make something so Jason helped her make a dough.

She sprinkled it with poppy seeds and Jason cooked it up.
It looked really good.

I unpacked from our trip then repacked again as I'm heading back to the city in the morning for work and I'll be there until Thursday.
