Amazing Winter Weather (Dec.28, 2023)

I had a really rough time falling asleep last night for some reason.
I was tossing and turning and eventually I just got up and watched the rest of the last season of The Crown.
I think it was after 3 when it finished, I went to bed then and finally fell asleep but because I went to sleep so late, I had a pretty good sleep in this morning.
I think it was close to 10:30 when I got up which is quite late for me.

Jason is working and Freya is gone to Barrhead to visit at Rita and Lloyd's so it's been quiet here.
I worked on some crafting today and then I also worked on my blog.
I'm way behind and I really want to get caught up on the Christmas break here.

I want to do a jigsaw puzzle too on the break and I have been looking forward to it for some time but I won't let myself start one until my blog is caught up.

We have been having such nice weather for this time of year I just had to get out and enjoy it.
I got ready and headed out for a walk.
I wore my running gear thinking that I might try to run in a few spots but it was just too icy out there.

I slipped on the ice a few years ago when we were out walking one lunch hour and I hurt my tailbone so badly, it took close to a year before it was better and I just don't want to have something like that happen again.

So no running out there for me today but I did walk 6k and it was so nice.

I loved getting all the fresh air and as I was finishing up the sun was starting to set and it was just gorgeous out.

This is just a picture of the sidewalk and the road, you can just see that it's all a sheet of ice.
I did wear cleats on my shoes but it was still slippery so I'd walk on the grass where I could to avoid the ice.

Saw this cute idea for old candle jars - think I might actually try this one.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

City Trip Looking for Leftover Boxing Day Deals (Dec.27, 2023)

I had a bit of a sleep in then I got up and watched a couple episodes of The Crown while I had my coffee.

I wanted to work on my blog because I'm way behind but I just couldn't make myself do it.

I did do a bit of cleaning and then I worked on some craft projects.

I had these all started so I wanted to get them completed.

I love how they all turned out.

I especially like this ornament.
This is the second one I made, I'm keeping the first for myself.

I made two of these trees.
I want to give one to my friend Bonnie for Christmas and she had pinks in her Christmas colors which I didn't have so I was trying to keep them more neutral so they would match ok.

This one has a bit of red but I think it's the one I'm going to give her.

I wish I had picked up more of these wooden cut outs, making them is so fun.
Jason can make me some of the triangular trees at least if I can't find anymore - It's a pretty simple shape.

I'm also getting low on Fabri-Tac glue and I thought about maybe making a trip to the city to get a few things tomorrow or Friday but then I thought why not go today?

The weather was gorgeous out and it was around noon by this point but I figured I'd not be long in the city anyway so I just jumped in the car and headed out.

The car was super dirty so I did stop in Barrhead for a car wash.
Everyone else had the same idea so I did have a bit of a wait.
I love when all the different colors get sprayed onto the car.

I didn't find much for deals in the city, the Christmas stuff was really picked over and unfortunately there were no wooden cutouts left at the Dollar Tree.

I did get a few things though then headed back home around 6 pm.

Jason was already home from work when I got to the house, it was right at 8 pm.
He helped me bring in what I bought which wasn't much - I did get myself a keuring machine though, looking forward to trying that out in the morning.

There is a bit of a situation going on at Jason's work so he isn't sure of how stable his job there is which had me kind of nervous but he doesn't seem stressed over it so I'm not going to stress either.

He said if he has to get another job he will and there are jobs around.
Change can be scary but it can also be good so whatever happens happens and we'll just deal with it whatever it is.

Freya went to Barrhead for the night.
Haylee's Auntie and her kiddos are visiting from Regina and Freya just loves hanging out with her cousins so I'm glad she got to go as much as I miss her being around.

Jason and I had a pretty quiet evening which is always nice.
Christmas break is always so chill and I love it.
We've been having amazing weather too.

My eating has been off the rails, chocolate, chips and whatever else I can put in my mouth I have been.
My 13,000 steps per day has gone out the window too unfortunately.
No reason why it should though, tomorrow, I'm going to do some kind of activity.

I don't want to be in the same boat as last year at this time and have an extra 10 pounds to try to get off on top of the pounds I'm already trying to lose.
I was so close to Onederland just earlier in the month - it's slipping further and further away.

I know I'll get back on track in the New Year but I don't want to get too off track before.

I'll just do my best and then see what happens I guess.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Boxing Day with Our Girls (Dec.26, 2023)

Freya spent the night with us last night.

I love spending time with her - she gets into stuff and is so busy but I wouldn't have it any other way.

She still likes to have cuddle time and when she says "Grandma come snuggle me" my heart just melts.

We had a pretty chill day.

It was nice out so we did go for a walk.

Jason was out for run and I got Freya's trailer out to push her down to the store.

She ended up walking down there and we met up with Jason, got some snacks then headed back up to the house.

She walked most of the way back too until we came upon a dog that was loose.

Jason yelled at it to go home and it kind of did but I think it scared her so she got back in the trailer.

After supper, Kody dropped by with Eden for a visit.

When she's there I just want to hold her and snuggle her the whole time.

Look at that sweet face and those teeny tiny fingers.

Grandma, Papa and their two gorgeous girls.

She's such a proud big sister and just loves holding her so much.
Freya ended up going home for the night with Kody so after they left, Jason and I watched a bit of YouTube before heading to bed.

He is back to work tomorrow so we had an early night.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Christmas Day at Our House (Dec.25, 2023)

It's Christmas but it's also Monday so that means weigh in day.

I was 210.2 lbs today.

That's up 1.8 lbs since last weigh in.

We were up early and Jason headed out for a run - bless his dedicated heart.

I had a bath and then made myself a coffee and just sat in my Christmassy living room and enjoyed the peace and quiet before all the chaos I know will be coming later today.

I just love how my living room looks.

I really enjoy all the Christmas decorations.

I called my sister, they are 3 hour ahead of us so they'd already opened their gifts, the boys and Scott had already headed to PEI and she was heading out shortly herself.
She did send a picture of her and the boys from this morning.

When Jason got back from his run, he had a shower then before everyone came over, we gave each other the gifts that we'd gotten for each other.
I got him a trip to Vegas leaving on Feb.28 for a week and he got me a trip to Vegas leaving on Mar.15 for a week.

Great minds think alike I guess.
We will return one of them because we won't be going on two trips that close together.

Luckily we both got cancellation insurance so we'll figure out which days work best, keep that trip, cancel the other one and then maybe book another trip to somewhere else at another time.

Around 10 I warmed up the oven and put the meat pie in - we always have it for breakfast Christmas morning and then Morgan texted to see if I'd come pick her and Kalem up.
As I was leaving, Kody, Haylee, Freya and Eden were pulling up to the house.
Then shortly after I got back to the house, Rob, Adrien, Hunter and Alivia arrived.

The boys all went downstairs and started bringing up all the presents then the gift opening began.

I like to watch everyone open their gifts but there are so many people that it gets a bit crazy and I can't watch everyone at the same time so I don't get to see everything.
Freya got bored of it several times and kept leaving to play for a bit then she'd come back and open a few more so her presents lasted for a long time.

Rob and Jason.

Mom just watching everything going on.

Jason and I.

Morgan made everyone sweet trays which was so nice of her.

She even included little 'menus' with a list of everything that she made on them which was such a nice touch.

Rob.

Mom spent a lot of time holding Eden and she loved it.

She did put her down for a bit so she could open a few of her gifts.

After the gift opening everyone headed out, some had other places to go, like Morgan and Kalem headed to his dad's place in Barrhead and Alivia and Hunter were heading to Whitecourt with Mel to go to her Aunt's place for Christmas dinner.
Kody, Haylee and the kids headed over to Crystal's to open gifts and Rob and Adrien both just went home to nap.

Jason had been working on Christmas dinner.
He had cooked the turkey yesterday so he sliced that all up then he cooked a beef roast today and he sliced that up too.
We peeled potatoes, carrots and turnips for supper and got everything else ready to go and everyone that didn't have other plans came back around 5ish for supper.
I also invited Crystal, Randie and Zepplyn to join us for supper.

Kody, Haylee and Freya.

Everyone enjoying supper.
Just a few chairs short of everyone being able to sit at the table together.

While everyone ate supper, I sat and visited with Eden.

Paddington getting comfy on Adrien's lap.

After she ate, Zepplyn wanted to hold Eden for a bit.
She just loves her so much.

She brought us a present.

It was a box full of goodies.

After supper (which was delicious by the way), we all sat around in the living room and had a game of Heads Up and just visited.
It was a busy day and everyone was tuckered out so we they all left around 10, except Freya who wanted to spend the night with us.

Freya's favorite Christmas present of 2023

Me and my girl.

Merry Christmas from Grandma and Freya.

Haylee and Crystal posted some of their pictures from Christmas so I thought I'd share some of those here.

This was a picture of Alivia and Hunter that Mel posted from their dinner in Whitecourt.

They are all smiles so I think they were having a great time - Awesome!

It was a great Christmas - spending time with family was my favorite part of course as it always is.
