A Paint Project and Picture Reflection (Jan.28, 2021)

So, quick one today, here goes....

It was a regular day at the office, a few meetings, a few phone calls.

We had MORE SNOW so I spent my lunch hour shoveling.

Shennelle dropped by my place after lunch to drop off a parcel to me.

(She commented on how nice my driveway looked).

Tomorrow is her birthday and I so wish we could all go out to lunch to celebrate like we normally do but it will have to wait.

After work, I went to the store to get water and a prescription for mom.

It was -20 out there today but I didn't feel like getting on the treadmill so I went out for a walk to get the rest of my steps in.

It was a chilly walk but I enjoyed it.

I've been wanting to give these tables a coat of paint so I got after that when I got back from my walk.
Hopefully some of the Covid restrictions will lift soon and we will be able to have our Christmas party and I want them to be ready to go.

I had wanted to use a chalk paint but this was on sale so I thought I'd give it a try.

I got a coat on anyway.
I had a wide brush so there were a few little spots I couldn't reach but I'll flip them over and fill those spots in with a smaller brush.
I don't want it to be a full even coat anyway because I want to sand some of it back off.
I'm going for the rustic look.

Got my selfies in - boy I just can't seem to keep that mirror clean!

We have lots of leftovers in the fridge so that's all we had for supper - want to get them eaten up.
I spent the evening looking through old pictures on my phone.
Sometimes when I feel like I'm not getting anywhere with the weight loss, it helps to look at old pictures to see how far I've come.

Here are a few examples of pictures from really great events that happened that I did enjoy but was kind of embarrassed to share the pictures of because of how fat I looked.

Meeting my favorite Princess, Cinderella, at Disney.

Taking a private tour of Roloff Farms and meeting Amy and Zach Roloff.

Having the opportunity to go inside the gates of Buckingham Palace to watch my sister participating in the Changing of the Guard.

I didn't let my weight stop me from enjoying these things thankfully.
At least going forward now, if we ever get to travel again, I will enjoy sharing the pictures.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Testing Out Camo for the First Time (Jan.27, 2021)

Our local paper recently changed from a hard copy to a digital version to be able to keep going.

I got the latest update today and Alivia was on the front cover.

She's part of the School Safety Patrol - good for her.
(She's second from the left)
It's too bad that years from now, all these pictures for this past year will have people wearing face masks.

We had more snow so I spent my lunch hour shoveling.
I've done more shoveling this year alone than I've done all together in my whole life prior.
It's good exercise so I'm not complaining!

I had to drop down to the actual office today so I got 'dressed up' which basically means I put on something other than leggings.
So I figured it would be a good time to get my selfies taken.

I had a parcel at the office - It was my new camo leggings - I couldn't wait to get home and try them on.

Kind of hard to see the pattern but I'm digging them.
I'm not going to turn into a camo girl or anything but these I do like.

I was catching up on a blog that I like to read Runs for Cookies and she had some training programs on their that she had done up so I checked out her 5km to marathon in 6 months one.
I printed it off and I think I'm actually going to try to follow it.
It says that you should be running 4-5 times per week about 30-40 minutes each time.
For some reason I thought it said you should be doing 5k 4-5 times per week so that was going to be my goal.
I still think I'll go with that.

So I went down and hopped on the treadmill.
My goal was to run 5k and of course to get the rest of my steps in.
I ran for 40 minutes straight today and did some extra warm up and cool down.
My treadmill is in miles so 3.2 miles is 5k and I reached that right at the 46 minute mark which is not bad considering the first 6 minutes were warm up.

I was even able to run for 4 whole songs at 4.5 so I felt great about that!

I cooked up halibut, roasted vegetables and instant mashed potatoes for supper for Jason and I.
We watched some more One Bite Pizza reviews while we ate.

These were made by the lady at Sentimental Salvage & Design and they are so cute.
I always forget about the clay and the molds that I have - this is something that I might actually like to do with them.

A facebook memory popped up that I thought I would share.
This was from our company Christmas party 12 years ago.
My word, does time ever fly.
It's Sharon, Bonnie and I.
(My hair looked so good!)

I miss our parties that we used to have here in town - a few years ago when we became part of a new district, we started having a combo party with the rest of the district in Edmonton and while they are fun too, they just aren't the  same.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Baby Giggles and A Great Work Out (Jan.27, 2021)

Freya had a really good sleep last night.

She was still sleeping when I got up to go to work but Jason stayed with her.

It was only an hour or so after I got up that they did too and they stopped by to visit me.
Jason had this mask on and she thought that was hilarious.
Her little laugh is so cute.

Are you scared Grandma?

Checking to make sure it's still Papa under there.

We had a bit of snow so at lunch time I went out and cleared of the driveway, sidewalk and doorstep in the front and back.
It was just like a light dusting so it only took me about 40 minutes.

Haylee got there just as I was finishing up to pick up Freya.
She had picked up some lunch so she brought it in and had lunch with us.

She had picked up a guitar for Zepplyn and so she and Freya headed over there after lunch to give it to her.

Randy shared this picture later - looks like Zepplyn was surprised!

Happy too - her dad loves to play the guitar and I think she is going to follow in his footsteps.

After work, I decided to test out the second pair of sneakers I'd gotten on the weekend.
I only had about 5000 steps so far so I needed to get more and I wanted to get it done.
It was way too cold outside for me, once it hits -20 or below I'm good to stay inside, so treadmill it was.

I did a 6 minute warmup then covered over the display and just jogged.
The new shoes felt tight on the sides of my feet and were bothering me a bit at first but I just kept going and after a bit, they stopped hurting.
I jogged for 60 minutes without stopping and I varied between 4.0 to 4.5.
Then I did a bit of a cool down at the end.

It was a really great workout and I was super proud of myself.
I can tell that my endurance is improving all the time.

Got my selfies out of the way while I was still all sweaty.
These are new leggings I ordered for myself in blue.
I normally stick to black so I wanted something different.
I like them.

Jason had supper ready for us when I got off the treadmill.
He made Everything Bagel Salad and adobe chicken.
So delicious.

I was so cold that I decided to have a bath to warm up.
Just finished a book so I found another one on my book shelf to read.

Might As Well Laugh About It Now by Marie Osmond.
I like reading autobiographies - I think they are really interesting.

I've never been a big Osmond fan - not that I dislike them, I think they were maybe before my time or just not in my radar.
Then when we were in Las Vegas a few years back, we went and saw Donny and Marie's show and I loved it.

Jason and I watched some more One Bite Pizza Reviews before calling it a night.
He's back to work tomorrow so it will be a quiet day at the office for me tomorrow.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In Day and Another Sleep Over (Jan.25, 2021)

Weigh in Day.
I wasn't expecting a big loss but I was just hoping that I didn't have a big gain.

198 lbs it was.

That means I was up .2 lbs from last week which isn't so bad - I can live with that.
Time to buckle up this week though - I'm aiming to have a loss next weigh in and I know I can do it.

Jason went out for a run this morning but it was way too cold out there for me.
So I hopped on the treadmill at lunch time.

I jogged at 4.0+ for 40 minutes straight (would have been even longer if I hadn't had to stop and go to the washroom).

A completed workout always makes me feel so good.

We were sitting around after supper feeling kind of blah and realized it was because we were missing the baby.
So I called to see if she could sleep over.
Jason is back to work on Wednesday so that means he can spend all of tomorrow with her before he heads back to work.

Zepplyn was over there visiting so they brought her over too for a visit.

Freya had on one of the little sweaters I got her for Christmas and it looked so cute.

Playing with Mr Blue the puppet.
Freya has come along way with him - she used to be terrified of the thing.

On a mission.

Her Daddy painted her nails for her before he headed home.

She gave him lots of hugs before he left.

Selfie time.

She wanted to try out my doll chair so the doll got chucked aside.
She likes sitting in it even though she has other little chairs just for her.
Note that she stripped again, Man, we just cannot keep this kid in her clothes.

I was reading my book (which I finished up this evening) and Freya was having a buba and fell asleep on my lap.

Was there ever a more beautiful sight?
I could hold her and stare at her and cuddle her all night long.

We did take her to bed though and she didn't wake up but slept through the night.

Sometimes my heart just swells up when I'm with her from loving her so much!
I think I can speak for Jason and say that he feels the exact same way.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
