Shaw's Landing, Peggy's Cove, Stone Pizza (Oct.10, 2025)

Jason was up early and out for a run.

It was such a nice morning that Freya and I got ready and headed out for a walk down to the beach.

The ocean is on one side then there is a bay or inlet type thing on the other side.

Some very nice houses.

Look at this one, it's huge.

There are houses all around the inlet thing.

I love this shape of house

We had the whole beach to ourselves.

I love it when the sun is sparkling on the water.

Me and my girl.

Dressed for the beach?

How have I never been to this beach before?

She found a maple leaf to take home for mom.

She found a few other little things too.

How is this October?

We walked over to the rocky section of the beach.

We took a walk over by the houses around the inlet.

It was quite uphill which I was not expecting.

I love the sunshine sparkling on the water.

We met up with Jason finishing his run.

He still carries Freya around when she wants.

We walked back over to the airbnb.

Orange tree alert.

I can't believe this is October, it looks like a beautiful summer day.

We hadn't heard from Tori but we did make a plan to meet Ronnie (Kody's dad) at Peggy's Cove.
He was going to take Freya with him to hang out for the day.
It was a bit of a drive for both of us and he said he'd call when he was leaving but we were ready so we just headed out.

Stopped in at a bakery we saw along the way.

When we got to Peggy's Cove, Ronnie wasn't there yet so we decided to get some lunch at Shaw's Landing.

It had a huge outdoor seating area.

With really great views of the water.

But we decided to eat inside.

Freya and I.

We had the chowder - DELICIOUS!

Pan fried haddock.

And a lobster roll.

Checking out the merchandise.

Freya liked this waiter statue.

Then we headed back to Peggy's Cove - Ronnie had made it there so we handed off Freya to him and we went for a walk around Peggy's Cove.

It's quite beautiful here but in a different kind of way.

It's a little village where people actually live.

And work - it's a fishing village.

I love the old buildings.

We stopped into a few of the shops.

This one had this really cool wooden bird on the deck outside.

It still seems strange to me to see these square shaped lobster traps.
My Mom's family back in PEI are all fisherman and I grew up seeing the lobster traps with the rounded tops.
They've since changed the shape of the ones they use too.

There is the lighthouse.

I've been here before but I think it was quite a long time ago.

So many people go out onto these rocks too close to the edge.

Several people have been swept off of the rocks over the years believe it or not.

You would think this would deter people but not everyone.

My honey and I.

I don't remember this boardwalk being here before but it may have been.

Yet another warning.
They actually even have security guards out on the rocks telling people to stay away from the edge now.
That's definitely new since I was last here.

This guys was playing this big long pipe thing.

He had these little characters set up in the water by his feet.
This was just a puddle in the rocks.

We walked right up to the lighthouse and it actually had a sticker wall.
We still haven't made Freya's drawings into stickers to take with us and add to sticker walls like this.
One of these days I'll get to it.

We walked around on the rocks a bit - we stayed well away from the edge.

Just another view of the rocks by the light house.

There's one of the security guards I was talking about.

We walked back to the car then headed back to the city.

Ronnie sent me this picture - Freya fell asleep on the drive back to the city.

We went to this Montreal style bagel place that we like right by the bridge in Dartmouth.

Tori had picked Freya up by this time and she took her to Build-a-Bear.

We went to the Sportsplex in Dartmouth so Jason could go lift some weights in the gym and I walked around the indoor track.

We went to the Mic Mac Mall and did

We went to downtown Dartmouth to look for a place to have some supper.

There are some really cool murals downtown.
The place we wanted to eat at had a waiting list so we put our names down then went for a bit of a walk.

We ended up coming across this pizza place that had good reviews so we decided to just eat there instead.

The pizza was really good, I especially liked the crust.
We chatted to the owner for a while too - he was a really nice guy.

Tori and her boyfriend met us there and dropped Freya back off to us.
She had some pizza with us then we drove back to our airbnb where Freya had another bath in the giant tub.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
