Lunch with Baby F (Oct.29, 2020)

I really would have liked to stay home today with My Honey.
He suggested I call work and tell them I couldn't come in because I didn't have any socks that matched.
Ha Ha
I didn't really think that would fly though!
So off to work I went.

My Honey walked down and met me for a walk this morning.
I was in a rush to get back for a meeting so no pictures.

On his way home he stopped in to visit Baby F.
He sent me this picture and said he was over there visiting so I should stop by when I went to lunch.

So I did.

Trying to get her to take a selfie.

She wouldn't look at first.

She ducked out of the picture the last second before I snapped it, little turkey.

Got some side eye and a smile.

She and My Honey were running around chasing each other but this was the 'Safe Zone' - he couldn't get her here.

She's keeping a close eye on him too to make sure he complies.

I just love it when she shakes her little finger at him and gives him 'the look'.

Our plan was to leave there, go to the store then for me to drop off My Honey and head back to work.
But Baby F did not want Papa to leave.
As soon as she saw him with his coat and shoes on she ran over and was saying firmly, "Couch" and "Shoes Off Papa".
So he stayed of course.
He is wrapped around that little finger of hers for sure.

I stayed for a while longer, made a puzzle then I stopped at the store for some shaved deli turkey which I took back to the office with me and had for lunch.

Miss Z in her Halloween costume today for school.
She wanted to be Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas.

She looks so good.

Later in the afternoon, My Honey sent me these.
He ended up taking Baby F over to our place for a visit.
They colored.

They danced.

Then when I got home, she wanted to play with my jewelry.

So we put them all on the bed for her to try on.

"Trying On" Grandma's jewelry.

My Honey made hamburger soup for supper.
I loved it, Baby F didn't eat much.

He said he wasn't going to fall asleep.
I needed proof!

My Honey found some goat cheese in the fridge so he made goat cheese pie.

I had to have a bite to try it even though it sounded weird.
It was very similar to cheesecake and it was delicious.

Uphill through 2 feet of snow both ways right?

That is all for today, until next time, be happy.

Scary News with a Happy Outcome! (Oct.29, 2020)

I was feeling really good today so I had to take some selfies.

This is another new top I picked up for under $10.00.
My plan was to wear it to BH's birthday celebration but my niece, Miss M, thought it would look better with leggings than with jeans so I took her advice and wore another shirt.

I also picked up some leggings and I think they look not too bad.

Bathroom selfies are kind of awkward but whatever.
It will be good to have some more comparison pictures.

My Honey weighed in this morning, Wednesday's are his weigh in days, and he was down .5 lbs.
We are both doing so well and we feel awesome!

I noticed that my niece commented on this post her friend made that she's been wanting these forever.
So I checked them out on Amazon to see if I could maybe order them for her for Christmas.
They are pretty far out of my budget range for now but maybe sometime down the road I'll surprise her with them!

I had a busy morning full of meetings again.
While in one of my meetings, I saw that my Aunt B was trying to call.
Then she sent a message for me to call her asap.
As soon as I saw that my heart sank because I knew something must have happened to someone.

I called as soon as my meeting was over and sure enough, my Uncle G had been in a car accident.
She didn't know much but that he was in rough shape and they weren't sure if he was going to be ok or not.

I asked her to get back to me as soon as they knew anything else.
I planned on letting my mom know at lunch time and hoped I'd be able to give her some better news.

She did call me back just before lunch to let me know that he was going to be ok.
He was really sore but nothing broken so that was good news.
I told her she should call my Mom since she'd likely be up now and let her know so she did.

I ended up working partially into my lunch hour and I had another meeting booked right after lunch so instead of going home, I went to the store to grab something to eat.

Then, because it had turned into such a beautiful day and I didn't want to miss out on that, I stopped at the park and did a few laps around the pathway there.
I was the first one to tread on the freshly fallen snow.

It was +6 out and everything was just melting away which was music to my ears.

Even my shadow is happy!

I had a couple meetings in the afternoon then because I hadn't gotten out this morning for a walk and it was still so nice out, I headed out for another walk.

The snow is going down some - it wouldn't hurt my feelings one bit if it went away entirely!

I noticed this today on our windshield, Bugger!
We had a rock hit the windshield on the other side so I made sure that I got it filled so it wouldn't spread then this appears on the drivers side and I have no idea how it even got started.
It doesn't even look like it was from a rock hit, it's right from the edge of the windshield.

Sentimental Salvage & Design posted a few things they have on sale in their shop and I love this barn so much.
It's in Myrnam, AB and I wish it wasn't so far away - she always has nice stuff!

She also had these cute barn stars.

I stopped by to have a visit with Baby F after work but she was napping.
She did wake up but came out and went right back to sleep on Mommy's lap.
Poor dear isn't feeling well again.
I hate seeing her sick.
Hopefully she is feeling better right away.

I met My Honey at the store and we picked up something for supper.
We had pork chops and an Everything Bagel salad.

I was talking to another Aunt this evening for an update on my Uncle G, Auntie A.
She said that he had actually been sent home from the hospital so that was wonderful news.

She said that his legs have been bothering him for a long time now and it's affecting his sleep.

That reminded me that BH had been talking about this drink she purchased, it had Quinine in it which apparently helps with Restless Leg Syndrome.

She gave some to SV to try since she has that Restless Leg Syndrome so I thought maybe it would help my Uncle.

So I texted BH to find out the actual drink and this is it.
I guess this particular brand has the highest levels of quinine in it that you can get in Tonic Water.
Auntie A is going to let him know about it so hopefully it helps.

I finally finished book 4 in the Harry Potter series tonight.
I might read something else before I start book 5 just to switch things up a bit.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

From A Little Snow To No Snow To Lots Of Snow, What a Day! (Sept.27, 2020)

It was so windy last night, we had to shut the window just to get some sleep.

We had a nice surprise when we woke up though, it had melted all of the snow, yay!

Maybe the kids will have a snow free Halloween for once.

I got out for my walk this morning and it was lovely.
It wasn't even that cold, even though I look like I'm dressed for a blizzard.
You just never know until you get out there.

I had a day full of meetings and my annual performance review this afternoon so I was super busy.
The day just flew by and before I knew it, it was time to go home.

I was so looking forward to my massage tonight.
My plan was to head home, have a quick shower then head on down there.
Then, just as I was leaving work, she texted me to cancel.
It had started snowing again (so much for a snow free Halloween) and it was really coming down and her tires aren't that good so she wanted to get home.

I don't blame her, no massage is worth a possible accident.
I was so looking forward to it but that's ok, we'll just reschedule.

When I got home, I saw that mom's swing had blown upside down in the wind last night.
I had to remove all the snow that had accumulated on it but then I drug it into the garage which I'd been wanting to do anyway.
I didn't want to chance it getting ruined from sitting out in the elements all winter.

I cooked up some chicken thighs for supper and opened up some bean salad to go with it.
Bean salad is a lot of points but I'd forgotten how much I like it.

I watched my TLC shows, Little People Big World and Sweet Home Sextuplets.
I did spend some time cleaning up my office too - It is always my catch all when I'm cleaning else where and things pile up in there quickly.

My Honey got home a bit late and they have a project they are working on at work so he has to go in tomorrow for the day to work.
He'll get overtime for it though so that's good!

That's about all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In Day & Christmas Surprise (Oct.26, 2020)

Weigh in Day!

I was 210.6 lbs today.

That's a loss of 1.4 lbs since last week and 62.4 lbs over all!
Even though I had a few treat days this week and ate over and above my extra weekly point allotment, I was still feeling really good and felt like I was going to see a loss.
Every pound down is a success in my eyes!

I got out for a walk in the cold this morning in my new winter coat I bought over the weekend.
I got it at Costco for under $90.00 and I love it, glad I found it.

Looking at this on coffee break - gave me a bit of a giggle.

My sister and I spoke on the weekend and we discussed her coming to Alberta for Christmas.
So I had a look at flights and this was the best I could find.
I gave her a call to see if she could come and long story short, its all booked.
I am so excited!
It feels like forever since I've seen her and the boys.

My plan is to not tell anyone and make it a big surprise.
I'm going to pretend like I'm going to work and go pick them up in the city.
Then I plan to invite everyone over for supper that day and have her come in once everyone is there.
I think it will be so much fun.

I want to do a family craft night so I might do it that night and my plan is to make gingerbread houses and salt dough ornaments.
I found this recipe online so I'm going to give it a try.

It seems like a simple recipe so it shouldn't be hard.

I've seen these rolling pins with the designs on them but never purchased one because I wasn't too sure what to do with them.
Now I'm wishing I'd purchased one - next time I see one it's coming home with me.

All day long I thought I had an appointment for a massage tonight.
When I got home, I ran around trying to clean and organize things before I had to go.
It was almost time for my appointment when I realized that my appointment is actually tomorrow night!

I hadn't taken anything out for supper so when My Honey got home I cooked up some turkey bacon and an omelet for us.

Then we went over to visit Baby F.
We haven't seen her for days so we were both missing her a bunch.

She got right on Papa's lap to watch videos.
It was really nice to see her.
Can't wait until the weekend to have her over for the night!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

New Family Member for Miss M (Oct.25, 2020)

I woke up super early so I just laid in bed for a while and looked at Instagram and Facebook.
These memories popped up from a dinner we had at Mom's place back in 2014, so 6 years ago.

My son and I.

My son and I and Miss A.
She was so teeny!

My brother A and SIL M.
My Honey and My Auntie V are in the background too.

Mom and my brother R when he had longer locks.

My niece Miss M and a friend of hers whose name I cannot remember.

My son posted this picture that Baby F drew - pretty amazing work for a 2 year old if you ask me!

Sentimental Salvage & Design posted this picture of a desk she made from an old door.
I love it.

My Honey was at work getting ready for the Sunday bbq.
He made them Turtle Pie.

He also cooked pizza on the bbq.
This is a cheeseburger pizza, one of my faves - kind of wish I was there.

Miss M didn't sleep in very late and everyone else was thinking about going to breakfast but since we wouldn't all be able to sit together anyway, we decided to skip it and just hit the road.

We had a couple of stops we needed to make then we wanted to get home at a decent hour.

On the way, Miss M saw that her SIL was looking for new homes for all of her pets.
She has a pug that Miss M is really close to and loves so Miss M decided to take her.
So when we got home, we stopped and picked her up and she's now at her new home.
Not sure how she will get along with Zeke but hopefully all goes well.

It was around 2 pm when we got home and the first thing I did was get my coat on and head out for a walk.
It was actually kind of nice out and I needed to get some steps.

Then when I got back to the house, I had a bath and did some reading.
I'm getting really close to the end of the latest Harry Potter book I'm reading.
It seems like I've been reading it for a long time and I still have 4 more to go.

When I got out of the tub, it was time for kitty cuddles.
I had Professor Snuggles on my lap.

And Paddington cuddled up beside me.
I'm really missing Baby F and I wanted to go over for a visit but I was feeling like I had a cold coming on so to be on the safe side, I decided not to go around her.

I'm just pumping in the Cold FX.
If I'm feeling better tomorrow, I'll stop by for a visit then.

Miss M and I stopped at Value Village today, I was hoping I could find the piece I needed for the lampshade so it would sit right.
I didn't find that but I did find another lampshade that had the piece built in.
It was 10 for the whole lamp but I asked if I could just buy the shade and leave the lamp as a donation which they let me do.
The shade is a tad big and covers some of the lamp base but I think it looks cool and I'm happy with it.

I was so happy to see My Honey when he got home from work, I really missed him.
We watched some Diners, Drive-In's and Dives then hit the hay.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
