New Year - New Goals (Jan.1, 2022)

It's the first day of a new year.

I love a fresh start whether it's a new day or a new week or a new month but there is just something extra special about a new year.

Here's hoping that this is the year that Covid goes away (as much as it can anyway).

Even though it isn't my regular weigh in day, I wanted to see where I was starting for the year so I weighed in this morning.

196.8 lbs

I can't believe how close I am to 200 but starting today, I'm tracking again and eating properly and I am never going to let myself see 200 lbs again.

Only way to go from here is down!

I was 202.6 lbs on Jan.1, 2021 so I haven't made a whole lot of weight loss progress in 2021 but that's going to change this year.
I feel a renewed energy and desire to really get to my goal and this is the year I'm going to do it.

My little miss spent the night with me - she's wearing her new rainbow jammies we got her for Christmas.

We did lots of snuggling this morning.

There is nobody that I would rather spend my first day of the year with (or any other day for that matter).

Kody came over and visited a bit before he took her home.

After he left, I went out and shoveled the driveway.
I wish it would just stop snowing already.

I spent the afternoon coming up with some goals for 2022.

I added them to the back of  my 50x50 book which I am still working on but these are just some extra things I want to try to do this year.

I left some space between each of them so I could add some updates or comments when I get the items done.

Some of them are similar to my 50x50 goals but it's just extra incentive in my eyes to get them done.

I feel like they are all doable and I'll check back here and there as I get them done.

I had a space for some extra stuff as I think of it, I'll just add them here.

These are the goals I had for myself for 2021.
Thought I would be interesting to look back and see which ones I accomplished.

First off, I did get in 12,000+ steps in EVERY SINGLE DAY and I'm super proud of that.
I almost missed a couple times just not paying attention but at the last minute either remembered or was reminded by Jason in time to get in the steps I needed.

I took lots of selfies but not every single day - this year, I think I'll just try to take them weekly or monthly, just so I have some comparison photos but I don't think every day is necessary.

I didn't reach my goal weight but I am done a bit from where I started last year and that is a win.
Just keeping the weight off and still being in a place where I'm working toward the goal and haven't slid back into old routines feels like progress to me.

I did pay off more debt, I'm not sure how much though because I don't know where I was at the beginning of 2021.

It's gone down though and not up so I'm headed in the right direction and I'm really going to focus on it again this year.

I didn't get any of the projects I had listed completed, not even one.
I'm kind of disappointed in that but there is always this year.

I'd still like to do all of those projects and now the basement bathroom has been added to the list.
Hopefully this is the year for getting these accomplished.

I decided that one of my goals for this year was to run at least 1 mile every single day.
I think it's doable.
I am going to try to take a picture at the 1 mile mark too everyday so I can see my progress by the end of the year.
I'm starting of at 14.49 minutes to run a mile, we'll see what I can get that down to.

Then I just kept running because I also had to get all my steps in, I've also bumped up my daily step goal from 12,000 to 13,000.

I got it done!

Back to following WW and eating well so I had frozen veggies, salad and shrimp for supper.
Barely any points at all!

I'll need to get to Costco and load back up on Boom Chicka Pop - my go to snack.

I had a bath after my workout and was just kind of looking at memes and these are a few that I liked that I figured I would share.

Great idea!

I'm a total believer that having gratitude and a great attitude are so important to being happy and successful in life.

Absolutely!

Well that's all for today, until next time, be happy!

New Years Eve (Dec.31, 2021)

Once I finally fell asleep this morning, I had a pretty good snooze, woke up around 10 am.

After my coffee, I went out and did some more shoveling.

I'll sure be glad when the snow stops!

Kody was working and Haylee had to go decorate the bar for New Years Eve tonight so I picked up Freya and she spent the afternoon with me, she's going to spend the night too.

Bonnie called me to see if I wanted to go out to dinner then over to her place to play games.

I couldn't do the games but I did join them for supper.

They made a reservation for us at Mr. Mike's in Whitecourt and all travelled down there together.

Nadine and Karl.

June, Bonnie and I.
I'm feeling so big - I've just been eating whatever I want and lots of it and I can feel it.
I gave myself permission to do so and I'm trying not to feel guilty about it but I do a little.
It's back to tracking tomorrow though and so I'm going to eat my heart out tonight.

We got lots of appetizers, wings, shrimp.

Bruschetta, stuffed mushrooms and lobster dip.
We were all hungry and devoured these appetizers in no time.

I got the Oscar Sirloin with garlic parmesan fries and it was fantastic.
It actually had real lobster.

They had sticky toffee pudding on the menu so you know I had to have that.
The whole meal was delicious and I was stuffed but it was totally worth it.

I would have liked to go to Bonnie's to play games but I'd promised Freya she could spend the night and Jason was home so I wanted to spend some time with him.

Kody brought her over as soon as I told him we were home and she was so happy to see Papa.
She had been asking about him earlier while she was here.

They went downstairs and made these garbage bag outfits, ha ha.

She decided that she wanted to get it off.

So Papa helped her.

We went to bed at 10:30 so were fast asleep when the New Year arrived and I'm not one bit sorry to have missed it.

Just a little giggle to end the year on.

I think everyone was hoping that 2021 would turn out to be a much better year than 2020 as far as the whole Covid situation goes and here we are, still kind of in the same spot but you know, regardless of all that, there was plenty good to celebrate in the year and I know this year will be a good one too.

Tomorrow when I post, I'm going to list some of my goals for the upcoming year and look back and my New Years post from last year to see how I did on the goals I made for myself for this year.

One goal I know I met for sure was getting in my 12,000+ steps per day.
I did not miss a day and I'm super proud of that.

Next year, I'm bumping up to 13,000+ steps per day and I'm also adding on a goal of running at least 1 mile every single day.

I'll list more tomorrow.

To new beginnings!

That's it for today, until next time, be happy!

Hanging with Hunter (Dec.30, 2021)

I got up this morning, made a coffee and found myself a movie to watch.

I settled on this one

Mix Tape
It was really cute, I quite enjoyed it.

After the movie, I went outdoors and did some shoveling.
It's good exercise for sure but I do wish it would stop snowing.

When I came back in, I ran myself a nice hot bath and started a new book.

Adrien's renter moved out of his house and they decided to move back into it, currently they are renting from her father, but their place needs so work so they were going over there to do some painting and tear up the floors.
Hunter didn't want to go with them so they dropped him off and he spent the day with me.

We went to the store so he could get a treat and he really likes the bacon and eggers at Subway so we went down there too and got a couple.

I was working on blogging and was uploading some videos on YouTube and he was watching.
We rewatched the one where he showed me the Distraction Dance and he said that wasn't actually right so he had to show me again.

So here it is, the REAL Distraction Dance.

After Adrien came and picked Hunter up, I had to pop onto the treadmill for just a little while to get the rest of my steps in.

We went to bed around 10:30 and I had a really hard time falling to sleep for some reason.
At midnight, I finally just got back up and figured I'd read for a bit, see if that made me sleepy.

Around 2 am, Jason got a call, the whole field was down so he ended up having to go out to work.
I hate it when he has to go out in the night like that.

I ended up reading until 4 am, finished my book actually.
I didn't really like how the story turned out.

I wasn't sure that I'd be able to fall asleep because Jason hadn't gotten home from work yet but I did amazingly.

He did pop home around 7 am to get some food and a coffee then he headed back out.
Poor guy, he'll have to work right through until 7pm tonight and I'm sure he's going to be exhausted.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Shoveling, Shoveling! (Dec.29, 2021)

Freya and I slept in pretty good this morning.

When she got up, she requested an egg.
She didn't eat that much of it but she did eat some.

She and I hung out until her dad came and picked her up at 3.
After they left, I went out and shoveled.

It had warmed up to a balmy -23C out there which felt much nicer than it has been lately.
I hadn't shoveled for days so I had a lot to catch up on - there was a lot of packed snow and it took me a couple hours but I got it all done and it felt good.

After I finished, I decided I wanted a Newfie Poutine so I ordered one and went to pick it up.
It wasn't the best I've ever had but it hit the spot and satisfied my craving.

I was thinking of watching a movie but I had a chill from being out in the cold for so long today and I couldn't quite shake it so I figured the only thing to do was have a bath.

I ran myself a nice bubble bath and soaked in there until Jason got home.

Then we watched Little Women.
I didn't think I'd seen it before but then as I was watching it, it did seem familiar.

Either way, I enjoyed it.

Another pretty chill day in the books.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In Day (Dec.28, 2021)

I completely forgot about weighing in yesterday so I'm doing it today.

I know it's going to be up, I can feel that I've gained.

1934. lbs.

That's up 2.4lbs since last week.
I'm not ready to give up with the treats yet though.

I am going to get back on track here and I was thinking about when.
I was thinking on Monday, after the weekend but that is Jan.3 and on further thought, I decided that I wanted to get started on Jan.1 so I think that is what I am going to do.

That means a couple more days of eating junk and upsetting my belly but I'll get in the few little treats that I've been wanting than I'll be refreshed and ready to start anew.

I am going to reach my weight loss goals in 2022, my 50th year.
I am absolutely determined and I won't give up.

Jason and I watched the 3 final episodes of The Witcher this morning.
I quite enjoyed it actually.

After that, Jason worked on a goals book he started for himself and I watched some of the latest season of Sister Wives.
It's hard to watch, the family is just fracturing and I feel so bad for them.

Freya came over for a visit and wanted to stay the night so of course we kept her.
She and Jason played all evening and then when she was ready to settle down, I got to cuddle with her.

She's such a pro at side eyes - ha ha!

I had picked up a couple of gingerbread house kits thinking we could do them but we never did.
Well Freya got her hands on one tonight and was insisting on doing it, she would not take no for an answer.
So she opened it up and we didn't build the house but I let her decorate it and she was good with that.
Her finished work.

It's been so cold that we've been pretty much stuck inside.
Still -31C and that's not taking into account the wind chill factor - kind of a bummer because we could have been going out for walks and things but at least we have a nice house to stay cozy and warm in.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Chill Day (Dec.27, 2021)

It is super cold out there, -31C and that's without the wind chill factored in so we decided to skip the city.

Just too cold - we haven't even been outside in two days.

It was ok with me, I was thinking about that puzzle all night anyway so as soon as I got up, I was right back at it.

I got it all done.
I was shocked to see that it was 4pm when I finished.
The time just flew by!

Paddington is enjoying Freya's new chair.

The new season of The Witcher is streaming now so Jason and I started watching it.
We got five episodes in before calling it a night.
It was a pretty chill day.

I did do lots of pacing in front of the tv while watching so I could get all my steps in and I did it.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Jigsaw Puzzle Day (Dec.26, 2021)

I had planned on heading to the city to do some Boxing Day shopping this year - mainly for Christmas stuff and craft supplies and we were going to stay the night and go see Spiderman.

However, the kids spent the night last night and it was nearly lunch time by the time they headed home so we decided to go to the city tomorrow instead.

We did watch Encanto with them before they went home and it was a really cute little movie.
I really enjoyed it.

After the kids left, I broke out a puzzle.

Trying to do it on that patterned tablecloth was difficult.
I am terrible with puzzles, once I start them, I get totally obsessed and can't do anything else until they are done, literally!

I figured this would be a good time though since I'm on vacation so if I focus on the puzzle and nothing else until it's done, it would be totally ok.

I spent pretty much the whole evening working on and I got quite a bit done.

It meant that I barely moved at all though so I had to go down at 10:30 and spend quite some time on the treadmill in order to make my 12,000 steps for the day.
Did it though!

I was glad I got it done and my body probably was happy to get some movement in!

I worked on the puzzle a bit more afterwards - I probably could have stayed up all night working on it but my eyes needed a break.

Crystal posted some pictures from their Christmas - Zepplyn got an oodie - looks real comfy too.

Freya opening one of her gifts.

She got new troll pj's too - they are pretty cute.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
