Our Sweetie is Leaving us for Three Whole Weeks (July 8, 2023)

I got Freya a little travel pillow yesterday then she picked out a couple stuffies last night and when we got back to the airbnb, she made them a bed.

They do look comfy!

Little angel.

We had to check out by 10 so we were up early getting ready.
I gave her a bath and rebraided her hair - I'm getting better at it, still no pro though that's for sure.

This is the other jumpsuit that I just got Freya - she loves wearing than and they look super cute on her.

Getting some tickles before we head out.

It was a cute little spot - I think we will likely stay here again.

I guess they call it Highland.
It's a nice area.

We would have had an ice cream but it wasn't open yet so instead they just did some fooling around.

Papa has her coloring book, she's trying to get it back.

Got it!

Papa doing his Forrest Gump impression for her.

She thought it was hilarious.

Kody, Haylee, Crystal, Randie, Zepplyn and Crystal's sister Kim and her family are all on their way in from Barrhead.
The plan is for them all to head to Kim's in Regina and spend the night there then they will carry on towards the East Coast.

They texted us when they left Barrhead to let us know where we could meet up so they could get Freya.
It was at a gas station in Sherwood Park and it was only 12 minutes away from where we were so since we had time, we decided to go get some breakfast at Denny's while we waited.

Getting as many cuddles in as I can before they leave.

Ahh our little honey - how are we going to go three weeks without her?

Doing her Wednesday Addams impression, she's good at it!

About 15 minutes before we were supposed to meet up, Kody called to say that his car had broken down.
It happened just as they were getting to Edmonton and he was pulled over on the side of the highway.
Not a great start to a cross country trip.

He called to find a shop he could take the car to but nobody could look at it today for him.
Jason has ama so we headed over there to get him a tow truck.

After some brainstorming, we came up with the idea of him taking Crystal's other vehicle across the country (she just got a new one recently but kept the old one for Randy to use as he does deliveries in town for a pizza place).

We called my brother Rob and he said he'd drive it out from Swan Hills and meet us in Edmonton and my brother Adrien followed him in so he could drive Rob back home.

Crystal's sister had carried on with the kids then Freya hopped in with Crystal and Haylee and they carried on as well.
Randy stayed with Kody so he could keep him company on the drive to Regina once Rob got here with the car.

We waited with them until the tow truck came then followed it to the dealer where they were going to look at it and transferred all the luggage into my vehicle.
We hoped we could just leave it in his car but they had him parked in a fenced in area that was getting locked up soon.

We went over to Walmart and just hung out for a bit waiting for Rob to show up.

It took him a couple hours then we transferred all the luggage again into the white car and Kody and Randy were on there way.
It's a long drive to Regina but at least they are on their way and the trip can still happen.

We had planned on heading to Leduc today to have a look at a car there.
Northside Nissan had promised to call me back yesterday but I never heard from them at all.

They did call me early this afternoon to say that they had no vehicle for me yet but would give me a loaner so I could return my rental but only after they were sure they had a car for me.

We have no idea when that will be so we decided it couldn't hurt to drop by the Nissan in Leduc but they close early today and we aren't going to make it so we decided to stay in the city another night.

We were hungry and we noticed a burger place next to the airbnb we stayed at so we headed back over there to give it a try.

Fox Burger.

They have a rooftop patio so of course that is where we opted to sit.

Jason rocking the shades.

Moi.

It's hard to get selfies sometimes but I got both of us in there.

We ordered the brussels sprouts to start and we shared those.
They were really good.

I had the American Cheeseburger with a side salad.
They burger was seasoned really well and cooked just right, not too much like usually happens here in Canada where you aren't allowed to serve burgers rare.

Jason got the blue cheese burger and he said it was really heavy on the blue cheese, maybe a bit too heavy but he still liked it.

After we ate, we got ice creams at Kind again and just walked around the area while we ate them.
I got the Maple Bourbon Pecan again in a waffle cone and it was melting so fast I couldn't keep up but it was so amazing.
Jason had to help me.

While we were out and about, I had to go to the washroom and it was kind of an emergency.
We found a park and eventually the bathroom but it was kind of touch and go there for a bit.

We walked back to the car then headed to our new hotel for the night - we booked back at the Coast Plaza downtown.

It was so nice out that after we checked in we decided to go for a walk around to enjoy the gorgeous evening and I decided to put my new dress on.

We walked over to this outdoor food truck area we'd seen but the music was just blaring over there so we ended up not even going in.

We stopped in to the casino in the Ice District and we each put 20 in.
I took 40 out so we basically just ended up even which was fine.

It was hot and I wanted a drink so we found this restaurant up the street from out hotel that had a nice outdoor patio area and we decided to stop in there for a virgin Caesar.
I wanted one earlier at Fox but they didn't make them on the patio and then when we got here I ordered one but they were out of Clamato.
Guess it just wasn't meant to be.

Since we were here anyway we decided to go ahead and ger a little bite to eat.

I love summer nights on a patio.

I'm glad I decided to bring my dress.
I was wanting one for sometime and went out of my way to get it while we were in Saskatoon so I better make sure I get some use out of it.

They had a gnocchi dish so that's what I ordered.
It wasn't that good at all, very bland.

Jason ordered a quesadilla and we shared it - it was just ok.
It came with a side of beans and they were so sweet that they were inedible - and that's coming from someone who adds sugar to her canned beans.

Then he also ordered the smoked chicken breast - it was very good, tasty and moist.
I don't know why they add the slice of bread - does anyone eat that?

We felt bad because the food was not very good at all and the waitress was so excited because they'd just revamped their menu and they were having a grand opening next week.
A new concept with different kinds of food - some of which we tried tonight.
I wish them well but I don't have high hopes to be perfectly honest.

We headed back to the room after that.
I would have liked to just walk around all evening because it was so nice but I'm hoping to get out for a run early tomorrow so I need to get some sleep.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
