Jasper For The Long Weekend! (April 1, 2021)

I had a busy day with work - lots of meetings and things to try to finish up before the long weekend.

Jason had a busy morning too - he got his run in and a bike ride then he got the bike rack that we put together last night put on the car.

He figured out how to get the bikes on it and we are good to go.

We hit the road late in the afternoon after I finished work and packed up and I was so excited to be going on a road trip.

Kody, Freya and Haylee are also going.
As are Haylee's mom, Crystal, sister, Zepplyn and grandparents, Rita and Lloyd.
They headed out before we did so should all be there when we get there.

Jason's knee has been bothering him a bit when he runs so I called my sister to ask her about the tape she used on hers.
It's KT tape.

This is how it gets put on.
She said she found it really helped her so next time we are in the city, I think I'll pick some up and Jason and I both can give it a try.

We stopped in Whitecourt to pick up a few things then we continued on our way.

It was a gorgeous day for a drive.

It was so bright I had to break out my shades.

Jasper here we come!

It's always so exciting when you start to see the mountains off in the distance.

I always think when we come here that we should take advantage of it being close more often but we don't.

So today when we entered the park, we bought an annual park pass hoping that will motivate us to come more often to make it worth our while.

The pass was $140.00 and it's $20.00 a day to visit the park so we only have to spend 7 days here over the next year to make it worth our while.

(We are already going to be staying 3 just this stay alone so pretty much half way there already).

It clouded over too as we were arriving in Jasper.

You could barely see the mountains anymore because of the clouds.

We checked in to our room (We are staying at The Crimson) then we headed out for a walk.
I still had 6000 steps to go to reach my step goal for the day.
We just walked around the back roads of Jasper for about an hour.
In Jasper, face masks are required every where in public, even outdoors.

Then we went for some supper at Jasper Pizza Place.

Waiting for our meal.

We got the King of New York which was basically meats and basil.

They had one with lox and capers on it so we gave that one a try too.
We both love capers.

Excited about having a treat.
Plus, it was around 9 by this point and we hadn't eaten most of the day so we were hungry.

I was excited too - I love pizza.
It was good - the crust was nice and soft.

Had to get a photo of their grizzly out front.

After we ate, we stopped by to visit Kody and Haylee and Freya.

We brought Freya back to our room to spend the night with us.

She just loved running through the hotel hallway.

We got all snuggled in bed with a milk bubba and a water one - she even had both of them in her mouth at the same time at one point.

Making faces at Papa.

Ha ha - she makes the best faces with her eyes!

When they left town today, they stopped and picked up this Easter gift they'd ordered for Freya and just gave it to her right away.
They made it at the coffee shop here in town - my niece Morgan actually made it.
There were a couple of options to choose from, Haylee chose the bunny butt.

It's made out of chocolate and filled with goodies and it comes with a little hammer so the kids can break it open.
What a great idea!

Freya didn't take long breaking into it and she really liked it.

All kinds of goodies in there!

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
