Crafting and Last Minute Baby Plans (Oct.24, 2023)

Another chilly day here but I didn't let that stop me from getting out for a walk this morning.

As long as you dress for it properly - the weather isn't that bad!
The fresh air is totally worth it.

All I had on the schedule for my run today was 5 min Easy, 20 min Tempo then another 5 min Easy.

I ran the Easy portions at 4.1 and the Tempo one at 4.6.

A quicker workout but still a good one.
I was good and sweaty.
I got cleaned up then headed back to work for the afternoon.

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with Insception Life Cells.
We want to store the stem cells from the babies cord blood like we did with Freya's and the collection package didn't make it here yet so we were very concerned.
I could see by the tracking number that they were at the Fedex depot at the Edmonton airport but we just couldn't get in touch with anybody.

We'll have to try calling again first thing in the morning - there's still a chance we'll get it here so I'm not losing hope yet.

I got a bunch more snowmen and gingerbread men glued together then I aslo stuffed them and gave them faces.
I'm so pleased with how they look.

I made a couple more flowers too.
I need to get some starch to stiffen the petals but I like how they look, I think I may make some more.

Might have to check this place out.

I used to make Dr. Oz green smoothies and I liked them - so I may give this recipe a try.

Baby arrives tomorrow - we are super excited.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Weigh In Day - Uber Successful (Oct.23, 2023)

 Weigh in day!!!

I was 204 lbs.

That's an amazing 9.8 lbs since last week so of course I was super stoked about that.
If I could have a week like that every week it would be awesome but of course I know that is very unreasonable.

Yesterday was Bonnie's birthday so we took her out for lunch today.
One of the Secure guys ended up being there with Blair and John so he bought us lunch so we said we'd take Bonnie out again another day.

Today was a rest day but I still needed steps so I headed out this afternoon for a walk to the road.
I was bundled up pretty good and I was still a bit cold - the wind was the chill you to the bone kind.

Unfortunately the cold is here and the snow appears to be staying.
I hope Winter isn't here quite yet but I'm afraid that it is.

After work, I hopped on the treadmill and just walked to get the rest of my steps in.

Feeling good - da na na na na na.

I got some snowmen and reindeer glued together and then I also cut out a couple of flowers.
I gave them all a coat of my coffee/cinnamon grunge then washed it back off a bit off of everything but the gingerbread men.
I'll let them dry then tomorrow I can stuff them and decorate them.

I saw this really cool way of displaying collections so now I'm going to be on the look out for some old boxes.

Or suitcases I guess.

I have a Santa collection similar to this that I normally set on my windowsill but maybe I'll change it up this year.

Long Run on the Treadmill - What a Struggle (Oct.22, 2023)

I was able to have a coffee and do some blogging this morning before Freya got up.

When she did get up, she called me to come in the room like she always does and I laid back down with her for a bit.

I'll always take an opportunity to snuggle with her.

She wanted to call Papa so we facetimed with him for a bit.
We got snow today and I had to do an 8 mile run.

It was icy and blustery out there so I didn't want to go outside to do it - I knew it would take me at least 2 hours to do it on the treadmill and I also knew that there wasn't anyway for me to entertain Freya while I was on there so I asked Crystal if I could take her over there for a bit to play with Zepplyn while I did my run - Kody and Haylee had to run to the city so they weren't home.

Crystal of course said no problem so I dropped Freya off then went home and got on the treadmill.
I watched a few episodes of When Calls the Heart while I was on there.

I made it just shy of 5 miles without stopping then I had to stop for a bathroom break and just a break in general.
I was really struggling.
I hadn't really eaten much before I started which was a mistake so I ran up and got a few macaroon bites and some water and then got back at it.

It was really tough to do the 8 miles and there was even a few points where I had to put the speed right down to 3.0 in order to keep going but eventually I did it.

It took me over two hours and it was tough but it's done.

I'm smiling because I'm so happy that I finished.

I had company the whole time.

I went over to pick up Freya but she had fallen asleep so I went back to the house and had a bath.
I must have had the bath water too hot because when I got out I felt terribly faint.
I could barely stand and had to actually lay on my bed and the couch for a bit.
I thought maybe I needed to get some food into me but the thought of it just made me more nauseous.

I ended up having a few crackers and felt a bit better, well enough to go back for Freya.
Both she and Zepplyn came back to the house with me which was great - they kept each other entertained and I just sat and worked on my blog some more because I didn't feel like I had a whole lot of energy to do anything else.

I did make myself a tuna sandwich for supper and then I made Zepp and pickle/cheese and cracker platter.

Freya hopped on the computer while I was making our food - I made her some tuna too, she loves it on crackers.
She loved having the computer and watched YouTube videos on it and Zepp and I just watched them on tv.
She wanted to watch 'finish the tik tok lyrics' and she knew just about all of them - very impressive.

Kody and Haylee came and picked the girls up around 7:15, just before Jason got home so he didn't get to see her which he was kind of bummed about but they were already having a hard time getting her to go and if she'd seen Jason it would have been even tougher so it worked out for the best.

I was really tuckered after the run - it really did me in for some reason.
I ran 12.13 last week so this wasn't even a whole km more but it just did me in so I headed to bed fairly early.

Day with my Girlie and Crafting (Oct.21, 2023)

I had about an hour to myself this morning to just sit and drink my coffee and watch some craft blogs before Freya woke up.

When she did get up, we spent a lot of the morning snuggling which is a wonderful way to spend a morning.

Nadine dropped by for a visit and while she was there, Freya did my make up.

She took a picture when she was done and it wasn't as terrible as I thought, in fact, I thought it looked pretty cool.

It was sticky lip gloss so it was tough to get off.

I worked on putting this arrangement together tonight.

I added lights.

I also added this scrappy bow but I can't decide if I like it or not.
I glued it on so I guess it's staying.

Today was a rest day but I still wanted to get my steps in.
I tried to convince Freya to go for a walk all day but she just wasn't interested at all.
I did manage to get most of my steps in anyway - when Jason got home I still needed 3000 so I just went down and walked on the treadmill until I got them all done and he entertained Freya.
As soon as he gets home it's all about him anyway.

She kept checking to see when I'd be done though so we could all play together.
I was happy to have my steps out of the way.

Kody and Haylee are both sick so we just kept Freya again for another night so hopefully she won't catch it too.

We had a chill evening and went to bed fairly early.
I had to read her a LOT of books when we got in bed which is fine with me.
I love that.

Snowmen and Gingerbread Man Success! (Oct.20, 2023)

It's Friday!!!

Woot woot!

When I rinsed the dye out of my hair last night I was worried because it seemed really dark.

I was thinking I might have to get Jason to go in and dye the rest of my hair but I wanted to do it first to see how it looked.

You can tell from this view that it looks dark at the roots.

But overall I think it blends well so I'll just go with it.

I had to run 3.5 miles today - I had planned on doing my run outside on my lunch hour but I had this feeling that I might need to go to the washroom so I decided to be safe and just do the run on the treadmill.
I'm glad I did because just as I suspected, right around the 1.5 mile mark, I had to stop for a bathroom break.

I finished up the workout and I was a sweaty mess but that's the sign of a good workout.

I stopped at the hardware after work to take a picture of the new little sign I put down there.
I made this with a scrap frame, a piece of drop cloth and this cute bird IOD rub on transfer.

Jason ordered a new Halloween costume for Freya and it arrived today.
She and Hunter were both coming to spend the night and she was so excited when she got there and saw it.

She had to try it on right away.

It does look like it's holding her.

It looked really funny when she was running around.

Hunter wanted to put his on too to show to Jason so I took him home so that he could get it.

Freya and Hunter in their Halloween costumes for this year.

The creepy zombie is going to get me.

When Jason got home from work, he played with the kids and that gave me a chance to work on my little snowmen which were now dry.

I gave them faces, little stick arms, scarves and embellishments.

I ordered a pack of these rusty metal stars and they look awesome.

I couldn't find my buttons but I had these little paper fasteners that I cut the backs off of and used for buttons.

I am so please with how they turned out - now I need to make some more.

Hunter ended up deciding that he wanted to go home - I think he's starting to get sick so it was probably best anyway.

Got My Hair Did (Oct.19, 2023)

It was cold out today but the sun was shining so I made sure to get out for a walk this morning.

It's always nice getting some fresh air and I've been so busy trying to catch up on emails since I've gotten back that this was my first chance to do so this week.

Nadine found these cute snowmen made out of the pumpkin wreath forms - too bad I don't have any left!

Today is a rest day but I still hopped on the treadmill after work anyway to get the rest of the steps in that I needed for the day.
I just walked.

Step goal achieved for the day!

Nadine offered to come over and dye my roots for me tonight.
They aren't that bad yet but I figured I'd take her up on it anyway.

I had more candy canes on the go.
She helped me with some of them - putting on the gauze layer.
She quite enjoyed it - found it therapeutic.

I put a grunge stain on some of them - just a mixture of coffee, cinnamon and vanilla.
I'm not sure if I prefer them this way or clean but I'll wait until they dry until I decide.

I tried making a couple of snowmen and a gingerbread man too.
I found patterns online, cut a pattern out on my cricut then cut these out of some scrap fabric that I had hanging around.
It was actually one of those triangle bandages from a first aid kit - we had to replace everything in our first aid kit at work because it was out of date.
I have no idea what makes a triangle bandage out of date but I hated to see it go in the garbage, so I took it home figuring I could use it for crafting and lo and behold, I did.
I used the gauze too for the candy canes so it was a good call.

I tried just glueing these together with the glue gun - not sure if I like how the snowmen turned out so far but I'm digging the gingerbread man.
I put the grunge mix on these too - it was a little too dark for the snowmen so I rinsed some of it back off so now I have to let them dry.

Hopefully once I decorate them up they will look better

I saw this ghost art on and Instagram page I follow, Karin Art Space.
I just thought they were super cute.

Love the glasses on this one.

A little ghostie enjoying a cup of tea.

That's all for today, until next time,
