Mom's New Chair is Finally Here (Mar.30, 2021)

It was a quiet but busy morning for me.

It flew right by and before I knew it, it was lunch time.

I opted to go on the treadmill at lunch to do my 1 and 1 workout.

Again, I just kept the runs at a 4.0.

Hopefully my tail bone heals up soon so I can get back to harder workouts again.

I did get a sweat on though - felt good.

Adrien and Mel dropped Hunter off while they went to WCT.
Mom's new recliner is in and they are going to pick it up for her.
Hunter found a bag of lollipops so he was pretty stoked.

Pretty hopped up on sugar too - he just had to try one of each color.
Of course I let him because that's what Aunties do!

Poor guy was waiting for Jason to get home to play video games with him but his Mom and Dad ended getting back to town first.

They brought mom's new chair in and helped set it up.

Jason arrived home while they were doing that so Hunter did get to see him briefly before they went home.

Everyone is coming over for supper tomorrow night for Morgan's birthday dinner so he'll get to hang out with Jason then.

Kody called around 8:30 and said that Freya wanted to come over and since Jason starts days off tomorrow, I told him to bring her on over and she could spend the night.

She was just raring to go when she arrived - she had Jason chasing her around the basement for a bit.
She was just getting into everything.

Then all of a sudden, she wanted a bubba and me to sit on the couch with her.

She was asleep within minutes.

I kept her with me like that for a bit while we watched tv.
I love cuddle time with her even if she is sleeping.

She didn't even wake up when we put her in bed.

I saw these on Instagram today @thecountgrydoor
They are so darn cute!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Another Weigh In Milestone (Mar.29, 2021)

I really wasn't sure what to expect from my weigh in this morning.

I knew I'd been following plan all week and tracking like I should but after weighing yesterday and being up, I was kind of nervous.

Needless to say, I was pretty happy when I stepped on the scale.
189.2 lbs.
I don't remember the last time that I've been in the 180's- it's been years.
Now I am not going to weigh myself in again until next Monday - if I'm up I know it will deflate me so it isn't worth it.
The number on the scale isn't everything.

So that's a 3 lb loss this week for an overall total of 83.8 lbs lost.
Things have slowed down but they are still moving and I'm happy with that.

I think hitting the 180's is a pretty good milestone so I wanted to make a point of getting my selfies in.
Front view.

Side view.

Back view.

I made myself a yummy breakfast platter.

Then I hopped on the treadmill at lunchtime.

I did the 1 minute walk 1 minute jog workout but I kept the jog at a 4.0.
It's a pretty good workout - I get a sweat on but it's not so intense that it causes my tail bone injury to get flared up.

A friend on Facebook posted that they were having lunch at this restaurant in Edmonton that has East Coast grub so I'm definitely going to make a point of checking it out.

I took mom up to the hospital this afternoon so she could get some bloodwork done then I headed to the office for the rest of the day so as I had a bunch of stuff I needed to print off.

Bonnie was there so we got to catch up a bit which was nice.
I sure miss seeing everyone and hanging out with my friends.

Jason ended up getting home really late tonight so we had a late supper then watched the first episode of Behind Her Eyes.

I want to see if he can figure out the twist on his own - he's usually pretty good with that kind of stuff.
It's fun to watch now that I know the twist and I can pay attention to everything that is happening with a new perspective.

This beautiful girl had a birthday today.
(I took this picture of her back in 2010, her and this project she did for school).

She and Tanner went to the city for the night to celebrate so I didn't get to see her but I'm having everyone over for supper on Wednesday night and we'll all celebrate with her then.
I'm so proud of the young lady she has become and I love her just like she was my own daughter.

My sentiments exactly!

Ha ha ha.
Coming from a large family, we've all gotten together and discussed just this very thing before and I still am not sure that I understand.
Does anyone really know?

A Great Thriller (Mar.28, 2021)

I got up when Jason was getting ready for work this morning and it felt good to be up nice and early.

I haven't seemed to be able to do that lately.

I made myself a coffee then looked for something to watch.

I remembered about Behind Her Eyes so checked it out.
I don't normally choose Thrillers as they scare me a bit but this was so good.
I watched four episodes before I was finally able to tear myself away.

Jason sent me pictures of the lunch he was working on for the crew today.
Pizza!
Ready to go in the oven.

All cooked.
I'm glad he made it there as opposed to home because I wouldn't be able to resist and I really want to have a good weigh in tomorrow.

Speaking of that, I've weighed myself every single day this week.
I try not to do that but after the gain on Monday, I just couldn't help myself.
I've been anywhere from  191.0 to 191.6 then suddenly this morning I was 193.2 so I really have no idea how tomorrow's weigh in is going to go.

I've been tracking all week, I barely used any of my weeklies so that part is good.
I didn't do any really hard workouts this week though as it seems to flare up my tailbone issue.
I think it's on the mend but it does still hurt and I just want it to heal so I've been being careful.

It was nice out there all morning so when I finally tore myself away from Behind Her Eyes, I got ready to go out for a walk.

I didn't get very far when a snow storm came up out of nowhere.

I thought I could soldier on but the snow was coming down fast and furious, I had to take my glasses off and I couldn't see a thing and it was so windy that the snow was actually hurting my face as it hit me so I had to cut my walk short and head home.

I was only out there in it for about 10 minutes and I came home looking like a snowman.
A little snowball even built up on my hoodie tie.

The sun was shining and it was so nice out just 20 minutes ago.

Now you can barely see down the street.

Looks like I'm probably going to have to shovel again.

Where oh where art though spring?
I long for you.

Since my walk outside was a failure, I went down and hopped on the treadmill.
I was happy about that because it meant I could watch another episode of Behind Her Eyes.
I alternated between 1 minute of walking and 1 minute of jogging but only at a 4.0 so as not to flare up my tailbone pain.

It was a pretty good workout actually - I worked up a good sweat and I got another episode watched and another started.
I realized that it was actually the last episode (there are only 6) so I went upstairs and finished watching the last episode.

I knew from the interview I'd listened to that there was a twist so I was trying to figure it out.
There was a twist and I didn't figure it out on my own but it was good.
I would highly recommend this show and oh, by the way, the actress was great.

I told Jason about it when he got home from work and I think he might watch it.
I'd like to watch it again myself now that I know the twist so we will watch it together.

I made myself a Freshii bowl for supper.

Kody brought Freya over for a visit when Jason got home from work.

They colored.

And played with stickers.

She really wanted to spend the night but Jason and I both have to work in the morning so she couldn't.
Safe to say when he goes on days off that she'll be staying though.

After they left, we got caught up on One Bite pizza reviews, watched a few YouTube clips of Broadway songs we liked including 'Hard To Be The Bard' from Something Rotten (I loved that show) before calling it a night.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy.

Kids Say The Funniest Things (Mar.27, 2021)

After our late night, we had a bit of a sleep in this morning which was nice.

When we did get up, Hunter wanted a drink of orange juice and we didn't have any so I convinced the kids it would be a good idea to go for a walk to the store to get some.

I took the stroller with me but ended up pushing it all the way down there empty.

Actually, Alivia pushed it for me and I carried Freya about half of the way and she walked the other half.

After the store though, I was able to convince them to get in the stroller for the walk home.
It was heavier and a bit harder to push but a good workout.

Watermelon for breakfast.

Alivia is getting so grown up.

Hunter still doesn't love posing for pictures.

The kids played all morning and around 2, Hunter started asking to go home.
So I called Adrien to come and get them.

Hunter told me that he was ready to go home now because he didn't like it at my house anymore.
When I asked him why, he told me that I keep it too hot at my house and they don't turn the temperature up that high at his house.
BA HA HA.

I thought he was going to tell me that he was bored but when he told me it was too hot, it kind of cracked me up.
Kids are funny.

Kody was there to pick up Freya but she wasn't quite ready to go.
So I told him to leave her and I'd take her home after.

A little later, she told me that she was ready to walk home but she wanted to walk there in my car.
Ha ha.
Luckily I had the car seat in my vehicle still so I was able to 'walk her home in the car'.

Jason was busy at work - he made this smore's pie for their bbq tomorrow.

After the kids all left - I headed out for a walk to get the rest of my steps in.
It had been snowing out earlier but it stopped and while everything is snow covered, it was still a nice walk.

I got the laundry all done - running up and down the stairs is good for my step count too.
I also did some cleaning which I've been needing to do for a while.

This made me giggle.

When Jason got home, we watched the latest episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier before calling it a night.

All Ready For Some Biking Road Trips This Summer (Mar.26, 2021)

I was up early, showered and on the road by 7 am.

I had an appointment in the city to get a hitch installed on the car so we can get a bike rack and take our bikes with us on trips.

I listened to the Broadway station the whole trip - I heard lots of goodies, like this one from The Producers.
Nathan Lane starred in the very first show I ever saw on Broadway, The Addams Family.
He is so good.

I thought this sounded like Jason Alexander (George from Seinfeld) and I wanted to remember to check that out when I got home.

It was him - I didn't know that he used to do lots of Broadway.

I dropped the car off at Hitch Works in Leduc and they told me it would be about an hour so I just walked across the street to do some shopping (and get some steps in).
They actually finished within 45 minutes - pretty good.
It was $400.00 for the hitch and installation so not too bad.

Jason had found a bike rack at Canadian Tire for $250.00 but I thought I'd check out Costco first and they ended up having the same bike rack but for $159.99.

So I picked it up and now we are all set - we are heading to Jasper next weekend and weather permitting, we will be able to take our bikes with us.
In the very least, I foresee lots of bike trips this summer.

I promised Freya when she was going home last night that I would get her a treat today.
She said she wanted a blue dolly so I think this will fit the bill.
Plus, it was only $20.00.

Jason sent me this, ha ha.
Poor Kermie!
Luckily for Jason and I, the reverse is true.
This past year we've both gotten much healthier so the pandemic has had it's good points too, at least for us.

I picked up a few groceries while I was in the city and got a few new clothing items too.

I'm being a lot more picky about what I've been buying lately - I want to make sure it's something that I'm really going to wear and enjoy.

Since I've been purging things - I've noticed how much stuff I have and I barely wear any of it.
I'm also cheap too and very seldom pay full price for clothes unless it's something that I absolutely love but that is a rare happening.

I did end up getting a pair of jeans for $12.00 (size 14) and a couple of tops off the clearance racks at Old Navy and Winners.

I found a nice top that I thought Mom would like so I picked that up for her too.

I stopped at Superstore to get myself some chocolate tahini but I couldn't find it.
I wonder if I'll ever find it again?
Maybe it's a blessing that I can't  - it was so delicious - I could just take a spoon and eat the whole thing in one sitting.

There is pretty much no snow left at all in the city.
(Those lucky buggers).

This is before Barrhead, starting to see a bit of snow but still not much.

The roads were entirely clear, and just spots of snow here and there on the fields.

Then the closer I got to home, the more snow I started to see.

The sun was shining and it was really a lovely day for a drive.

This is just as I arrived back at town - as you can see - it is still winter around here.

Like really winter.

Everything is still covered in snow.

Can't even see pavement on the road.

I listened to the Broadway station the whole way home too.
I really like this song from Hamilton.

I was listening to Seth Talks and he did a couple of interviews.
One happened to be with an actress who happens to be Bono's daughter.
She is in a new show on Netflix, a thriller and that's what they were discussing.
It sounded kind of interesting and I'm curious to see if she is actually a good actress or not seeing that she is a celebrity's daughter.
The show is called 'Behind Her Eyes' so I'm going to try to remember to check it out.

I quite enjoy Seth Speaks.

I had picked up some dye for Haylee so I stopped there first thing when I got to town to drop it off.
Of course, Freya wanted to come home with me so I brought her.

She helped me put the groceries away and saw the watermelon I picked up and wanted some.

I didn't even know she liked watermelon.

I picked up a Greek salad and a couple of whole roasted chickens and that is what we had for supper.

Mom was over at Adrien's watching the kiddos and she called and asked me to bring Hunter's Ipad over (he had forgotten it at our place earlier).
When I got up there with it, the kids wanted to come back to our place for a sleep over so I told them to come on over.

Freya was pretty excited to see Hunter when he got there.

The kids played for a couple hours then I tucked Alivia and Hunter in.
They slept in our spare room.

Jason had to work in the morning and Freya wasn't as excited to go to bed so he went to bed and she and I stayed up a bit later.

I don't know if it was the excitement of seeing the kids or if she had a late nap but I had a hard time getting her to go to sleep.
I think it was around 1 am when she finally dozed off.
Little night owl!
