Weird Al Concert (June 2, 2018)

We slept in this morning which was nice.
We were staying at Staybridge Inn & Suites West Edmonton and they have wonderful pillows.
They do not have much for television stations though, mostly sports channels, which I am totally not into.

When My Honey got up, he went to work out in for a bit.
I hadn't brought any work out shoes with me plus I was tired so I hung out in the room and got ready to go.

It was close to noon when we left the room and I was hungry, I was feeling like I was in a fog or a cloud.

We went to Timmie's and had bagel belts

and oatmeal.

I couldn't resist, in fact I didn't even try, and I had a chocolate chip iced cappuccino.
It was delicious.

We had nothing really planned for today.
We went to Old Navy - I found a few things and tried them on but didn't really like any of them.
We stopped at the Lucky 97 market and walked around there for a bit.
We got some mangoes, lemon grass and coconut milk.
I see coconut soup in my future - yee haw!

We also went to Homesense.
I picked up a candle and a pot with flowers to hang on my window pane when I finally get it up onto the wall.

They have a contest going on where you submit a picture of your pet with something you purchased at Homesense and I have the perfect picture of Paddington that I want to submit.

We went to Famosa for a late lunch.

They had a Seasonal Menu that I ended up ordering from.

I ordered the spring salad and

a mini version of their special pizza.
It was good.
I couldn't finish and I am not sure if it was due to the treatment yesterday or what.
I don't know if it is helping me, I do know that I am able to talk myself out of eating things that I don't really need very easily.
Fingers crossed that this treatment works for me.

My Honey got his usual.

A few good tunes popped on the radio in our travels.

I'd never heard this one before but I liked it.

We went to the Italian Market to pick up a few things.
I really wanted one of their poppy seed pinwheels but luckily they didn't have any.

My Honey did pick up a Tiramisu thought that we shared.

He got a few other goodies also and I had a bite of each.

By then it was getting close to 6 do we headed over to the River Cree.

I had gotten My Honey tickets to see Weird Al for Christmas and the show was tonight.
I thought it started at 7 pm so we figured we'd get over there and maybe grab a bite to eat before the show.

The restaurant in the casino was crazy busy so we didn't think we'd have time.
Then we discovered that the doors to the show opened at 7 but the show didn't actually start until 9 so turns out we had lots of time.
We put our names down for a table at the restaurant and they told us it would be about a half hour wait.
We walked away and within minutes our little tracker thing was buzzing and lighting up.
We thought maybe it was a mistake but it wasn't and we were seated right away.

I ordered a chicken Caesar salad and noticed that they had deep fried pickle chips which I love so I ordered some of those.

When they came they ended up being spears which I don't like as much but whatever, I ate them.

The salad was good and after we finished we had lots of time before the show so we gambled a bit more.

My Honey had the beef dip and he liked it ok.

Neither of us had any luck again and that got old fast so we went into the arena early and found our seats.
They weren't the most comfortable seats but we were right in the middle so our view seemed like it was going to be ok.

Emo Philips was the opening act.
He is a comedian and I didn't know who he was.
My Honey said I would recognize him and I did.
He was actually quite funny, I enjoyed him.

His act lasted about a half hour then they had a bit of an intermission before Weird Al got up there.
I enjoyed him too. He draws quite an interesting crowd.

The lyrics to his songs are funny - he seems to be very intelligent.
I enjoyed the show and loved how everyone went crazy at the end for the "Yoda" song and sang along - they knew all the lyrics.

He did a medley of all his hits too which I quite enjoyed.

We got out of there around 11:30 and stopped at MacDonald's for McFlurries.
I had the skor one and it totally hit the spot.
Then being the couple of wild party animals that we are, we headed straight back to the hotel and straight to bed.

👌👌👌
That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
