The Hunt for Curtains Continues (Mar.28, 2018)

Still tracking my points and staying on plan.
Feeling good.

My mid morning snack at my desk.
Veggies and a sweet, delicious mango.

Lunch was leftovers.
Hardly any points, only the mashed potatoes and the bbq sauce.
Not bad for all that food.

I arrived back to work to find one of the best things ever.
A parcel on my desk!!!
It's always exciting, even when I have a pretty good idea what it is.

It ended up being both of my orders shipped together.
I got some Kodiak pancake mix in a couple different flavors just to try it out.
You can't get it here anywhere that I know of.
If I like it, I am going to have to do some research though and see if I can find a place.

I put up the new curtains as soon as I got home from work.

The description when I ordered them said they were Star White which I was hoping was a nice bright white but turns out it is more of a grey color.
I realize grey is in right now but I am personally tired of it so I don't think I am going to keep them.
That is set number two failed.
The hunt for new curtains continues on.

For supper I made a tomato, cucumber salad.
I added onions, feta, olives and a piece of chicken.
I also baked a weight watcher wrap in the oven on high until it got crispy and added it on top like a crouton.
My Honey whipped up some of his fabulous dressing and it was delicious.

I painted all the doorway trim for all the doors in the hallway tonight and gave the walls another coat of paint.
I think that should be good now!
On to the living room I go.

We took the door off of our hallway closet and it is one of those folding doors that I don't like.
So we decided we are going to go with a sliding door and I thought this one looked awesome.
My Honey can likely build one (he can do anything) but I will have to look for the hardware and rollers so it can slide.

Saw this and thought it was a great idea!

More Maui memories popped up on Facebook

Enjoying some shaved ice with My Honey.

We took a drive up past Lahaina to see where the road would take us.

They views were just breathtaking.

Everything is so green and lush - gorgeous.

One particular part of the road was super scary to drive on.
It was wide enough for about one and a half vehicles.
It was on the edge of a cliff and it made a 180 degree turn.
I was so terrified that when we made it to the top on the other side of the super skinny part of the road, we had to stop so I could have a breather.
And this was in summer weather.
We made it though and the views were worth it.

We went to a luau.

The flower leis were so pretty.

Loved watching the performers.

It was right on the water too so the view was beautiful.

There was tons of dancing.

Probably hard to balance that thing on her head.

Out for a snack.

Looking pretty tanned up there isn't he?

At the airport - time to go home.

My sad face because I don't want to go home.

He doesn't either.

That is all for today.
Until next time, be happy.

Enough with the Snow Already! (Mar.27, 2018)

Woke up this morning to another dump of snow.
OMG Mother Nature - it is spring, get with the program.
There must have been about a foot of snow on the truck that I had to clear off.
And the snow was still coming.

These come in so handy for snacks.
I had a package for breakfast today - 0 smart points!!

By lunch time, it had snowed so much that I had almost another foot of snow to clear off the truck.
The snow was higher than the tops of my boots so my poor little feet got soaked just walking to the truck.

My Honey made some lovely tomato and pinto bean soup for lunch.
I made a grilled cheese sandwich with weight watchers bread and a jalapeno laughing cow cheese wedge for dipping in the soup.
It was delicious.

We wet the mantle board up to get a feel for how it looked.

We are going to cut it down so it isn't as long and My Honey is going to do some more planing on it but I think it is going to look great.

My Honey did a bit of painting in the afternoon and when I got home I did some work on the door frames in the hall but just wasn't into doing any painting.
We decided to just take the evening off.

My Honey made pizza for supper.
It was too yucky outdoors for him to light up his pizza oven and make thin crust pizza's so he just made a couple big ones with thicker crust in the regular oven.

It tasted just as good.

I was in control and only had 2 pieces even though I would have loved to have more.

We watched a couple episodes of Game of Thrones.
The last episode of Season 6 and the first episode of Season 7 which means we are almost caught up.
Only 6 more episodes to go, then we'll have to wait for Season 8 just like everyone else.

I will miss it!

But then we can get to This is Us so there's that to look forward to.
My Honey is back to work tomorrow so my goal is to get all the painting done before his next days off so we can get right to installing the floor.
I have 7 days and a 3 day weekend so if I give 'er, I know I can get it done.

Miss A had a dance competition in the city,  SV's grand-daughter was her dance partner and they won silver medals.
Way to go girls!

Hit 5000 lifetime miles today!

What a great idea.

Ha ha - ok, maybe I have a strange sense of humor.
Ba ha ha ha ha!
(Really I would choose the bacon but still funny)

Ok this time some memories popped up from a trip to my inlaws.
Since My Honey built his clay oven there, we always have a pizza day when we visit.

He is a professional dough maker.
He has perfected it so I just leave him to it.

He made me a Cavoletti, my favorite.
Brussel sprouts, dates, blue cheese and walnuts.

Into the oven it goes.

Perfection!

Lily is on self imposed guard duty.

Pizza number ??? in the oven.

Tried the egg on a pizza.
It was good.

These are the leftovers after we all ate!
He was a busy boy today.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

The Brick is Up! (Mar.26, 2018)

I was looking forward to weighing in because I felt like I would be down.

I was!
253.6lbs.
That is just about 3 lbs.

I was super pleased!

Hard to see in this picture but the walls are going to need another coat for sure

The edges in the closet are going to need another coat too.

When I got home at lunch time, My Honey was very perplexed about how he was going to put the brick up.
It was a spacing thing.
The brick and the space just didn't match up linearly and he very much wanted it to look good so he spend A LOT of time trying to figure it out.

When I got home after work he was well on his way.

He ended up cutting about half an inch off of the bricks so that the pattern would work better.
I think it looks great.

He is going to leave the spacers in for a couple days to give the bricks lots of time to set then we will go back and put in the grout.

I have decided that I am going to whitewash the bricks.
I am also thinking that we need to add some trim work to the wood.
We were afraid that it would get too busy but looking at it now, I think it needs a little something, something.

While he finished up, I made supper.
I roasted up asparagus, brussel sprouts, green beans, garlic and onions.
I also whipped up a batch of these super easy and delicious instant mashed potatoes.

I warmed up a couple pieces of chicken and voila, a delicious supper!

I got another coat of paint onto the walls in the hallway and I also did another coat on the edges in the closet.
I am hoping that will do it and I can move on.
There are 4 doorways in the hallway and I need to paint the trim on them.
It is more detailed and time consuming work.
I've been doing a little of it here and there but I need to really get after it.

This reno sure is taking longer than I expected but we are seeing progress.
It will all be worth it in the end.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
