Work Christmas Party! (Nov.24, 2017)

My workout this morning felt very difficult for some reason.
I felt like I could only jog for a minute then I would have to walk again to rest.
My lower back was bothering me through out as well.
I told myself just to get to 35 min then I would call it good.
I got there and kept pushing myself and made it to 50 min before cooling down.
Yay me.
It's these workouts that I struggle through that I am most proud of once I am done.

Ended up with a total time of 53 minutes which isn't too shabby.

Big smiles because the work out is completed AND it's our work Christmas party tonight in the city so I decided tomorrow is going to be my Rest Day for this week.
I like working out but I like Rest Day too.

My weigh in for the weight loss competition.
256.4 lbs
That's a gain so I'm bummed but I am doing what I can and I just have to stick to it.

Grabbed a bacon and egger at the store for breakfast.
I worked until noon then went home and packed and headed to the city.
My Honey has to work tonight so he won't be coming with me which is disappointing but he doesn't like those kinds of functions anyway so it's a good thing for him.

Got to enjoy one of my favorite stations on the ride though which was one pro to driving alone.

Lots of old jams that I loved were playing - brought memories flooding back and made for a very enjoyable drive.

I didn't even have anything to wear to the party tonight so I stopped in a few stores to do some shopping.
Found pants, a tank top and two bras at Addition Elle.
Today is Black Friday so everything was 40% off which is great because even at that, it was still a pricey purchase.
I was in a hurry though so didn't have a lot of time to be price comparing.
I needed the pants and bras anyway so the only indulgence was the blingy tank top.

I also stopped to check out Ricki's and they also had a store wide sale of 40% off.
I got a black cardigan sweater there - it was a great deal and I wear sweaters ALL of the time (I'm always cold) so it was a justified purchase in my eyes.

Our work party is held at the River Cree Casino each year.
We have dinner and a dance and then those of us that don't live in the city are put up in the hotel for the night.
Last year I didn't enjoy myself so this year my plan was to attend the supper and see how things felt.
If I wasn't having fun or feeling a good vibe, I would just head to my room and get up early to hit the stores.

The tables were nicely set when we arrived.

Supper was FANTASTIC.  They best we have had there yet.
There were tons of options.

I tried to get a little bit of everything but my plate filled up very quickly.
I would have went back for more but my belly was too full.

This mushroom soup was so good.

They had some great deserts too - the best was a pumpkin spice cheesecake and the bread pudding with sauce that they have every year.
That stuff is dangerous.

The girls from the office and I.
We are missing one, Ms SV, she couldn't make it as she has a catering job booked for the morning.

Even though Ms BK has transferred from our office, she was still invited for this year as she worked with us most of the year.
It was nice to see her and her hubby.

It ended up being a great night

I danced the night away.

I don't think I sat down at all once I started - unless it was a slow song.

The DJ was really great.
He was just a young guy and he was dancing and singing along to the music.
He knew all the words to all the songs - it didn't matter what genre either.
He played a really good variety and not in chunks either, he mixed it up.

I requested Sexy and I Know It and he played it as the last song of the night.
Lots of folks got up and danced too.

When the song was over and we got back to the table, we were joking with our boss, Mr BL as to why he hadn't danced with us at all.
(he is really fun when he is having a couple, just a really great sport).
Anyway, he said he would have if they'd played AC/DC or Metallica.
We were lamenting that it wouldn't happen now, it was all over when suddenly AC/DC started blaring over the speakers.

We all started laughing and telling him you have to dance now, he couldn't hear it at first and didn't know what all the commotion was but when he realized, he got up and headed to the dance floor.

Man on a mission.

He was rocking it out and loving every minute.

So were all the rest of us.

There wasn't a person left sitting at our table.

The girls - still going strong.

My former boss and her daughter were there as well which was nice.
Her new district and our district have always combined parties which worked out great.

They danced with me all night long.
This is the very end of the night, we closed the place down.

We went out into the casino to do shots (I wasn't drinking but still didn't want to miss out on any of the fun), but the bar was closed out there too so I guess that meant the night was over.

I tried my luck at a slot machine and turned my $20 into $50 before calling it a night and heading to bed.
It was around 3am and I already had 7000 steps showing on my fitbit since the new day started at midnight.

It was an awesome night and I am so glad I went as I briefly considered cancelling.

So finished off the day with lots of steps and a good start on tomorrows totals too.

I think I fell asleep immediately when my head hit the pillow.
That doesn't often happen so it was nice.

Until next time, be happy!
