Las Vegas 2017 Trip #2 Day #5

No workout again for me this morning.
Instead I got up and had this for breakfast.
I have one every trip to the US and I enjoy them every time.

We were having kind of a sleep in morning - no set time to meet up with BN & JM so My Honey and I got dressed and went for a walk.

I wanted to get myself a purse so we walked to the casino shops between The Luxor and The Excalibur.
This one store had lots of cool purses.

I loved these roller skate purses.

These phone purses had a real phone receiver for the handle and it had a phone cord too - pretty neat.

The lip purse was cool but it was the one in behind with the bespectacled girl that I liked.

Another cute bespectacled girl.

I kind of liked these ones too.

This is the designer - I've seen her stuff before and liked it but nothing was really jumping out at me as the one so I left empty handed.

BN mentioned his daughter liked sparkly things so I thought she might like these shoes and they were on sale for $15 bucks.

All of these shoes were - WOW!
I am amazed I did not buy myself any actually.

We did eventually meet up with BN & JM and headed over to Red Rock casino for their buffet.
It is a really nice casino - I would consider staying there sometime in the future.

Waiting in line for the buffet.
It was only 10.00 for the lunch buffet with a member card which a fellow came right up in line and signed us up for.

Just about there - we are next in line and can see all the goodies.
It is quite the buffet spread.

Plate number one for me.

The even had my coconut soup - Tom Ka Gai.

We sat in there for about an hour eating and chatting.
Our waitress was this tiny elderly lady and she was super nice and friendly.

Afterwards I convinced everyone to play the slots again as I spotted a game that I liked.
I ended up losing my $20.00 but JM did well and won a bit of a bonus.
She was quite excited as she is not a gambler.

She took her winnings as soon as the bonus was done.
My Honey had strayed away from us and so I went looking for him....

I saw him off in the distance sitting at a machine with a big grin on his face and no wonder.

WINNER!!!!

He won the jackpot, $2524.17.
Woo hoo!!!
It took a bit of time for them to fill all the paperwork out and they take 30% of the winnings off the top for taxes but he was still pretty stoked about his win.
I sure am good at picking casinos to gamble in - just for others!

As soon as he got his dough, we left and went to the most obvious place you should after a big win like that - shopping!!!!
Ha ha - not really.
We had planned on going shopping all along as there were some shops near the casino and BN was on the hunt for some new Sketchers.

He did get a pair and I got myself a couple of new sweaters at Old Navy.
They were $11.00 each so I think I did pretty good.

Tried it on as soon as I got back to the hotel.

I really like the stars on it.

We only had enough time to go to the room and change before we headed back out to Caesars Palace, we had tickets to see this Canadian super star tonight.
She was the whole reason we came on the trip this time.

Celine Dion.

We went to the box office to pick up the tickets early so we had a little time to kill before the show.

We went out into the shopping area of the casino.
My Honey is the best - he even carries my purse for me - it seems to get heavier as the day goes by.

I love the blue sky ceilings they have here that make you feel like you are outdoors even though you are indoors.

This ceiling was fabulous as well.

I had never seen these giant head statues before.

They turned out to be cool chairs.

My Honey took this cool shot of Pegasus.

I loved this shop window display.

Time for the show.
We have been here before to see Elton John and Shania Twain.
I think the views are good kind of wherever you sit.

Needed a selfie of us at the show for Facebook.

Also - if you sent your pictures in to this instagram account, they would put it up on the big screen so I was furiously trying to do that.
I wanted our picture to pop up on the big screen so I could take a picture (weird, I know).
I never did figure out if I sent it to the right place or not - it did not show up on the big screen in any case.

The curtain is lifting and the show is about to start.

She sure has a great set of pipes - she can belt out songs like nobodies business.

They had quite the lights show.

The Miss Universe Pageant just happens to be going on in Vegas this weekend and the contestants all came out to see Celine's show.

She gave them a little bit of a shout out which was nice.

I liked this when all these screens dropped down and showed footage of her singing this song all through out her career.
It was really cool - she sure has had some differant looks and hair styles.

She had a ton of musicians up there on the stage with her - she called them her family and no doubt she treats them accordingly.

She did this little jazzy, bluezy number that I really enjoyed.

Isnt't that chandelier fabulous?

Here she jsut had a few of the band and her back up singers on stage for a sing along.

She chatted and told some stories too - she makes lots of funny faces and her english still isn't that great so sometimes when she says things they come out kind of funny.
I love her accent.

Back to doing what she does best - belting out those tunes.

Loved the light display to this song.

She did a couple of costume changes throughout the evening, they were all nice & sparkly.
These shoe/boots were kind of fun with all the tassles hanging off them.

Remember at a concert when everyone would get out their lighters and sway them  to a slow song - now they get out their lights on their phones but I still think it looks just as good.
Plus you don't end up burning your fingers.

This was the final number, she said good bye and left the stage and she hadn't even sang "My Heart Will Go On" from the Titanic.
I thought maybe she was over it but luckily I was wrong.

After a few minutes she came back out, she had made a wardrobe change again and she was singing "My Heart Will Go On"

She stepped on this pedastal thing that lifted into the air.
This water came pouring down all around it and it was swirling and it looked really awesome.

A wider view - pretty neat.

Another sparkly dress.

Taking her final bow.

The show is really over this time.

Until we meet again!

It was a great show - I am glad we went.
I love that she has been successful yet she still seems to be so down to earth.
Proud also that she is a fellow Canadian.

Rumors have been swirling that she is dating a fellow much younger than her but I am not sure if I believe that (not that there would be anything wrong with it if she were).
She talked about Rene and our loved ones that are no longer with us a few times during the show and you could tell that she loved him very much and still does.

Either way, I wish her happiness.

We were hungry after the show but had a hard time finding a place to eat that was open.
We ended up walking over to Mandalay Bay and found a place in there.
I had a burger and it was actually pretty good although super expensive.

When we got back to the room I had a look at Facebook and this memory popped up.
I posted this and tagged my brothers and sister a few years back, it still makes me giggle!

Another good activity day despite the lack of an "official" work out.

Until next time, be happy!
