Workout Buddy

It was really tough to get up this morning.
I was expecting it as we had stayed up quite late watching Got.
Also, it is kind of dark in the mornings now which doesn't help.

I took this on my first walk of the morning.
It looks much darker in this picture than it actually was.

This is the second walk of the day.
It it somewhat lighter out.
It was much warmer out than it looked.

For lunch I had left overs.
I really like left overs.
It makes it so much easier when everything is ready to go and all I have to do is put it on a plate, warm it up and eat!

I was procrastinating a little after work but I finally did get down to get a work out in.
My little work out buddy always comes down and sits and watches me.
Sometimes he even gets right on the treadmill with (not on the belt, on the display part).

See, there he is in the back ground just hanging out.

The work out was extra hard today for some reason.
I was super hot & uncomfortable and I really wanted to stop.
My socks felt too thick and so did my pants.
I wore some fleece joggers instead of work out pants and I won't do that again.
I randomly walked and jogged, got up to 3.5 for the speed a few times, even did a minute at 4.0.
I know that is slow for seasoned runners but I am ok with starting out slow and working my way up.
I need to get my endurance back and then I will work on the speed.

I pushed through the discomfort and got in a decent work out in the end.
It is always a good feeling when a work out is completed - especially the times that I didn't really want to do one.

My Honey was home for work when I got back upstairs.
We watched another episode of Game of Thrones (I know, we are hooked) and then we headed to bed.
If I stay up late too many nights it catches up with me and I want to enjoy my last long weekend of the summer.
I got my 12 hours of 250+ steps in today and I did over 10,000 steps total for the day - yay me!
Looks like I need to start working on getting those stairs in now as it is the only goal I am not reaching daily.

I don't want to put too much on my plate yet though and get discouraged so I will keep it in mind but if I don't achieve it every day I am not going to be upset about it.

That's a wrap for today.
Until next time, be happy!

Typical Tuesday

I wanted to get up early and go for a walk this morning because I knew I wouldn't have time for it later but that didn't happen.

I did make sure to get on the ball with my hourly walks though - here I am on walk number one.

I went out to the golf course at lunch again and My Honey made me a ham & turkey wrap again for lunch.
He added some siracha mayo and it was delicious.

It was huge too but don't worry, we shared.

He sent me this picture this afternoon when I got back to work.
He made biscuits to go with the men's night special.
I can't wait to get out there and have one.

I opted to have a dessert before I had some supper.
It was so good.
My Honey & I did share it.

It was a busy day, I went straight from work to the golf course and then we didn't get home until almost 10 pm.
We should have been off to bed but Game of Thrones was calling our names.
No denying that we are hooked.
We watched an episode and then headed off to bed.

I didn't get a workout in today but I did get in at least 250 steps for all of the 12 tracked hours and I did get in over 10,000 steps for today so I am happy with that.

I am moving in the right direction again and it feels good.

Until next time, be happy!

Weigh In Day.

262.2 Lbs
I knew it wasn't going to be good again but I am committing to getting back to doing something about it.

I am going to try for my 250+ steps for 12 hours today.
My first walk to the end of the road was a nice ont.
I thought it would be a little chilly but that sun actually felt quite nice.

Walk number two.
I ended up doing about 5 walks in all today which is pretty good.

Red leaves are uncommon in these parts, we mostly get shades of greens and yellows.
The reds and the oranges are my favorites.

Breakfast was an orange yogurt drink.
I picked them up for little Mr H but he doesn't seem to like them so I will have to drink them up.

Had some carrots fresh out of the garden to munch on today too.

I had to go out to the golf course at lunch to take some ground beef to My Honey so I had some ham and turkey left over from a tournament out there this weekend for my lunch.

I wanted to take some before shots and this was the best I could do for now.
I don't have a full length mirror that is large enough.

These are at an unflattering angle but at least it's something.
This is one of the tops I picked up over the weekend and I love it.

I took a few more "start" photos in our downstairs washroom.
They aren't full length but they get the point across too.

This is the side view.
I want to have something to be able to compare to down the road.

I got a work out in - Yay me!
I didn't jog the whole time but I did jog some.
When I first hopped on the treadmill it wouldn't start and I had to fiddle with it for a bit.
I was almost on the verge of getting very upset but I kept trying and I got it working.
Not sure what happened but I am thankful that it is working.
My goal was to get over 30 minutes in and I did that so I am proud.

Thumbs up to me (and my fogged up glasses)!

We had left over veggies for supper and I made a strange concoction that actually tasted pretty good.
I cooked up some ground turkey, added cauliflower crumbles and a can of cream of chicken soup.
It tasted better than I was imagining.

We had raspberries and blackberries.

I had some over a biscuit (but only a half of a biscuit) with some cool whip topping - yum yum.

When My Honey got home from the golf course, we watched another episode of Game of Thrones.
It really pulls you in - I wanted to watch another but I knew I would regret it in the morning so I refrained.

My Honey whipped up these little orange tarts for men's night and he brought one home for me to taste.
We added some fresh berries and it was fabulous!

I ended up missing one hour of 250+ steps but aside from that, I am happy with my totals for today.
It's been a long time since I was anywhere near 10,000 steps in a day so this is a good start.

That's it for today!
Until next time, be happy!

Finally Started GoT Over Here!

My Honey arrived home sometime during the night so I was happy to see him this morning.
I missed him.
A lot of this went on in the house today.
My Honey dropped out to the golf course briefly and when he got back, we decided to start watching a new show together.

We are only about 6 years late hopping on the band wagon but better late than never as they say.
My brothers and my friend Ms PP in PEI have been raving about this show for years but I was never sure if it would be up my alley.
I am not really into violence, I can't even watch boxing or UFC fighting, and I knew it had some gory stuff in it so I just had no interest.

I knew My Honey would like it though and so I decided to give it a try.
I loved it.
Throughout the day, we watched 5 episodes of it.
I would have watched more if it wasn't so late.
The gore doesn't bother me that much, not sure if it's because I know it's fake or what but surprisingly, I really enjoy the show.

I picked up a trout at Costco on Friday so My Honey cooked it up for us for supper.

I finally got around to cleaning all the garden bounty mom's friend had dropped off last week so we had some beets and new potatoes roasted.

Then we also had green & yellow beans and fresh shucked peas.

It was a delicious supper.
Boy do I wish I had a garden of my own.

I had also picked up some strawberries so I cleaned them all up and made a suggestion to My Honey that some biscuits would be really good to go with them.
Being the wonderful fellow that he is, he cooked up a batch for us.
He makes THE MOST DELICIOUS BISCUITS IN THE WHOLE WORLD!
That is not an exageration.

We had some cool whip in the fridge so strawberry shortcakes for dessert it was!
And they were delightful!

Some memories popped up on Facebook from our trip to NS/PEI in 2014.

This is my boy and I, my dear dear old friend and her son.
We lived on either side of a duplex for years and our boys were great friends growing up.

It was also the first time I took My Honey back there to show him all my old haunts.
I can't wait until I can take him back again.

I do love it here where I live but I love it back in the maritimes as well and always enjoy my visits back there.
Getting to share those visits with My Honey make them even better.

So all in all, it was a pretty quiet day around here but a very nice one.
I am feeling ready to get back on track as far as health & fitness go.
I know my weigh in tomorrow is not going to be pretty but I am doing it anyway.
It will be back on the wagon after that.

Until next time, be happy!

NC & KT Get Hitched.

I was up and at em early this morning to get ready to go to the wedding.
It is about an hours drive away and I wanted to get there a little early in case they needed any last minute help with anything.
I had a turkey croissant for breakfast and it was yummy.

It's been a long time since I was up at the lake and my memory was foggy so I had to drive around for a bit until I found the right place.
As I was driving I passed this whole wall of white curtains so I figured I had found the right spot.

I took a peek inside and they had it set up really nicely.

They built this wall and fire place and I think it turned out really well.

They didn't need any help with anything ( I got there a little later than expected) so I went over to Ms BH's lake lot to hang out a little before the nuptials.
She made these little owls and they turned out so cute.

Her grand-dog.
He is teeny tiny and so cute.

These two are brother and sister and they are probably just about fully grown now.
I can't get over how little they are.

Her little grand daughter was busy collection all kinds of creep crawlies and she was quite proud of her collection.

The guest have all arrived, now just waiting for things to get started.

Waiting for the bride to make her appearance.

The Matron of Honor.

The flower girl (the brides grand daughter).

There she is, the beautiful bride, being walked down the aisle by her son.

It was a lovely ceremony.

The groom was a little choked up which was really sweet.

The exchange of the rings.

You may kiss the bride!

What the heck, kiss her again!

Ms BH, her hubby and daughter.

A few tears were shed.

It's official!
Mr and Mrs KT!

I had this idea to make a "joke" wedding memory book with all kinds of silly pictures, like folks heads half cut off, really blurry pics, awkward faces and accident shots like the ground or the sky so I was trying to remember to take a few like that.
I thought I could make up a really nice book filled with them.
I would make a real memory book as well with good pictures in it.
I think it would be fun.

Having a little sit down.
Those chairs used to be pink believe it or not and the bride painted them.
They turned out really well and you would never know unless you got up close.

I wanted to take pictures of all the little areas she had set up, it looked so nice.

I think mom enjoyed herself.

So did this young little guest.

Supper was delicious.

What a beaming bride, so nice to see!
I am so happy for them both.

Dessert was chocolate or white cake with strawberries and whipped topping.

Cutting the cake.

Of course I picked the white cake because it is my absolute favorite of the two.

The crew all dressed up and looking darned good!

We always do this pose at our Christmas parties so thought it would be fun to recreate it today.

More pictures of the groupings.

I love the window frame.

I like the colors too, that soft blue with the yellow and cream, it went together so well.

I love the little bird and these lanterns.
Ms LD said she had all kinds of them and I could buy a few from her if I wanted.
I think I will.

Probably would have been a nicer shot if I'd taken the beer can off the table but I didn't notice it at the time.

The butterfly bench is pretty cool too.

She made all these paper flowers to decorate the shed.

She planted all these white flowers as well in anticipation of today.
I think they looked great with this fountain in the center of it all.

There were even a few four legged guests.
One of them was even wearing a tie but I didn't get a picture of him.

The groom gave his best man this gorgeous watch.

Mom was starting to get tired so we left around 9:30 pm.

We stopped at Ms BH's so I could show mom her lake lot and so I got to see her little grand doggy again.

We got home around 10:30pm finally.
My Honey hadn't made it back from the city yet so I just called it a night and hit the hay.

Until next time, be happy.
