On Our Way to New York City

Finally woke up to some sunshine, it sure has a way of lifting the spirit.
Plus it melts the snow.  The parking lot was starting to look like a lake with all the meltage happening!  The dripping sound of melting snow makes my heart sing.
My Honey was doing some experimentation so I had some treats waiting for me at lunch.  Doughnuts!  Some filled with lemon and some with jam & cream cheese.

He also made chicken wings.
I packed up for our trip at lunch also, it was a busy hour.

The professor escaped this afternoon for a while, so My Honey ended up having an impromptu photo session with him while trying to entice him back into the house.
My Honey was having a hard time saying good bye to Professor Snuggles lol!
Pretty good actor huh?

Heading to the airport, hope this snow is all gone when we get home on Monday.
We used the Jetset parking lot for the first time and had them park for us.
The cost was reasonable and it was very convenient.

We got to the airport nice and early as usual so went in to Chilli's for a snack.
I was starting to feel tired so we found some cozy chairs and I had a bit of a nap before we even got on the plane.

My honey surprised me with awesome seats, right at the very front so lots of leg room plus only the two of us in the row, they turned the middle seat into a table.

I didn't nap much, we hit some turbulence and it was kind of unnerving.  I know flying is quite safe  but it still scares me sometimes.  Plus I was sitting by the window and it was freezing.  I finally got My Honey to switch seats with me because I was just so cold.  Should have done that far sooner, it made such a difference.

We had to make a connection in Toronto and that flight was just under an hour.  Of course I was starting to fall asleep just as we were arriving to New York.

We landed in LaGuardia around 8:30.  It was nice to be back in the city.  I just love it here.
We caught a cab over to our hotel in Queens to drop off our luggage.  I was so hoping we might get our room early but no such luck.

We had some of the free breakfast in the hotel then headed out to start our first day in New York City.

Adventures in New York City to follow.

Until next time, be happy.

Still Snowing, What the Heck?

Not much of a surprise this morning, still snowing.

My Honey cleared off the truck before he left for work but by the time I was ready to go, I had to clean it again.

Even though I haven't been following any plan or working out at all, I wanted to weigh in just to see where I am.

CHEESE!!!!
The girls at the office took me out for a birthday lunch.
We waited until this week because one of the girls was away last week in Dominican Republic for a vacation.
I don't think it's very difficult to figure out who just spent a week in the sun!

I always make a big deal out of birthdays, I think it's important to make a person feel special on their birthday, so this made me laugh.
The joke around the office is that my birthday is celebrated for the whole month, not just the one day.
I don't mind one bit either!

They gave me a gift card to get my nails done.  That always comes in handy, I love getting pedicures.

After lunch we had some visitors at the office.

My co-worker and her daughter each got a new puppy (brother & sister) on Saturday.
They are Morkies (cross between a Maltese and a Yorkie) and they are ADORABLE.

This one is the little girl, she is the bigger of the two, but still itty bitty.  She's about 2 lbs now and will be 5-6 when she is fully grown.
Her name is Cami, which is short for Camouflage.

This is Bentley, he is will only be about 3-4 lbs when he is fully grown.

They kept losing their footing on the floor, it was too slippery for them.  I could have watched them all afternoon but I did have to get some work done.

The icicles are starting to look dangerous!

My masseuse called me earlier today to see if I wanted to come in because she had a cancellation.
Of course I jumped at the opportunity.
She worked on my foot a bit so it would be in good shape for New York.

Spent the rest of the evening trying to get some work finished up.  I love that we have virtual PC's at work so I can log on from home anytime and do some work if I want.

Now I just need to go pack because we will be heading to the city right after work tomorrow.

It's just about New York time.  My Honey sent me a link about the Cherry Blossom Festival in Newark.
Apparently the cherry blossoms are blooming at this very moment and I am so excited.
I have always wanted to go to Japan to see them but haven't made it yet.
I didn't realize there were tons right in New Jersey too.
I really hope we can get the subway over there to see them.

Well that's all for now.  Until next time, be happy!

Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Back to Work I Go!

Well what do you know, it's snowing again.  Enough already!

Other than the continuation of that horrible white precipitation, today was quite uneventful.
I think this happened last year about the same time.  My walkway and doorstep were all cleared off last night and now they are covered again.

It was back to work for this gal, but only for a couple days.
Picked up some goodies on the weekend to refill my candy dish in my office.

It was getting a bit low and I just can't allow that.  I have to keep my reputation in good standing "Best Candy Dish in the Office".

Anytime any kiddos come to the office to visit, they are always brought to my office for a treat.
I inherited the candy dish from My Honey, he held the best candy dish title while he worked here but when he left he passed the baton on to me.

My dad called this evening to wish me a Happy Birthday.
I was surprised that I didn't hear from him on the actual day because he is very good at remembering birthday's and ALWAYS calls.
He said he did call but it kept saying my phone was unreachable and now I recall that my phone died that day and I had to recharge it when I got home from work.

So he didn't forget me!
It's always nice to hear from him.  I wish he lived closer so I could see him more often.

I have this little issue that is driving me kind of crazy.
I can't seem to find a mat for the front door that doesn't buckle up and need constant readjustment.
I picked up another new mat yesterday and it is much bigger than I assumed it would be but so far so good.
I told My Honey that if it starts buckling again I am just going to nail it right to the floor, ha ha.
I wouldn't actually do that but it really does get on my nerves.
First world problems I guess.
If this is my biggest thing to worry about then all is right in my world.

This was my supper, mint chocolate chip ice cream with extra chocolate chips added on top.
I know, not very healthy.

I just can't seem to get myself into the "zone" and I have been eating anything & everything.
I a feeling a little out of control honestly.
This seems to happen often leading up to a vacation.
I know on vacation that I will be trying lots of food and not restricting myself and because we are so close to leaving I figure what's the point of starting now?

Thing is, I keep doing it over and over.  Sometimes I wonder if I will ever get this figured out and reach a healthy weight.  When I am into it, I am so into it, but when I am not into it, look out, it's all out eating & basically a disaster.

So - here's the thing.
I do in my heart believe that I am going to succeed.
And I am looking at the same way I did when I was trying to quit smoking.
I figure if I keep at it, keep trying, no matter how many times it takes, I will eventually be successful.

"She believed she could so she did"

I BELIEVE I WILL!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy.

Easter 2017

It finally stopped snowing, yay!

I wasn't sure what the roads were going to be like but after being cooped up all weekend so far, I decided to go for a drive and make a Walmart run.

I invited mom to join me and she was up for an outing too.

We were on the road early and picked up the necessities at Walmart plus a few extras.  We made a stop at A&W for lunch then were on our way back home again.

I stopped at the office to let the Easter Bunny in.
The Easter Bunny visits the office every year and leaves some eggs on everyone's desk.
Adults deserve treats too after all.
When we got home, I got some bags ready...

and mom filled them with Easter goodies for everyone.

Everything is ready for company to arrive now.

My Honey put a ham in the oven before he left for work this morning so the house was starting to smell delicious.
I also got a roaster full of scalloped potatoes into the oven.  I added cream of chicken & cream of potato soup to it.  I am hoping it adds a nice flavor.
Then I cut up some raspberries, strawberries and blackberries for dessert.

Then I escaped to my retreat and did a little reading for a half hour.
Company arrived early so I had to cut it short.
The potatoes turned out to be very creamy and tasty.  Everyone liked them so the addition of the cream soup will happen again in the future.

Miss A is rocking those bunny ears.

I cooked up some biscuits (from a mix) and here they are fresh out of the oven.

Perfect for my favorite dessert, strawberry shortcake (with raspberries & blackberries).  It tasted like summer.

Mr. H wasn't really very interested in eating, he preferred to hang out with Professor Snuggles.

Miss A modelling her new Easter dress.  She said she is going to wear it everyday.

No way could I get him to look at me for a picture, he was just too busy.

Then it was time for everyone to have a turn with the bunny ears starting with my brother A.

Then my brother R had his turn.  It's playoff season and he is a huge Montreal Canadians fan.  Couldn't get the game on any of my channels so I am surprised that he came at all but just proves family is more important than hockey.  He was itching to get home and watch the end of the game though I am sure.

Nanny had a turn too.  Mr. H didn't like the bunny ears that much.  He is climbing on Nanny here so he can take them off of her.

When I said everyone had a turn with the bunny ears I did mean EVERYONE!

Still too busy for a picture.

Miss M & her guy showed up late for supper but they sure were happy to see the bunny had dropped by to visit and left them some treats.

My son spent the day with his honey's family so I didn't get to see him.  That's what happens when they grow up & get into relationships but that's ok.  I am grateful that he has someone & that her family wants him to spend time with them.

When My Honey got home from work he was also happy to see that he had treats from the bunny and happier still to have a nice meal.

He & I watched a few trailers, the new Thor movie looks like it is going to be good.  Watched a trailer for a movie called Little Boxes that also looked entertaining.  It's too late to watch a movie now but I am adding that one to my favorites list so I don't forget about it.

I think I got most of my weekend to do list completed.  Back to work tomorrow but it will be a short work week as we are off to NYC on Wednesday evening.  Hard to believe that is only 3 days away.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Snow, Snow and More Snow

Well guess what...............IT IS STILL SNOWING!!!
It has been three days straight now, when will it ever end?

My Honey texted me from work and told me to go out and take a picture of the front of the house.  I think this is the most snow I've ever seen on the house since we have lived here.

It does look very pretty but enough already.  It's the really heavy, good for snowmen making kind of snow so it's very hard to shovel.  Can't believe I had to shovel the doorstep and walkway again today.

I wanted to take one more picture before I started knocking some of that snow down.

My car is pretty much buried now.
My Honey got creative at work and built a snow chair for his relief guy.   He did a fine job if you ask me.
You would literally freeze your a** off though if you sat in it for too long.

We had some company drop by this afternoon.  I wish the lighting had been a bit better because Mr. H was posing so nicely.
He was very into the spirit of things and kept saying "Cheese" in his cute little way.
I applied a filter to this one to make it lighter and I think it looks much better.

Tried a different filter on this one and I must say, this is my favorite.  It's a great shot of them both.

He had skinny jeans on and they were so adorable.

Better light now but of course I can't get them to look my way.  To engrossed in the movie.

Did get a nice one of Miss A, she sure is a beauty, she looks just like her mom.

Time to go home!  Love it when they come to visit, they are busy and they tear the place up but I don't mind at all.  I am just glad I get to spend lots of time with them.

When My Honey got home this evening he had our friend and his golf course kitchen partner over to taste test some possible menu items.  He made rattlesnake bites, hamburgers, homemade polis sausage, avocado rolls and chicken strips.

I didn't sample much as my belly was feeling kind of yucky and I forgot to take pictures too, bummer.
I think they are both getting excited for this venture, it will be busy but I think it may turn out to be fun.  They are both really into cooking so it is right up their alley for sure.

Watched some Heartland today.  I am almost caught up.  I am halfway through season 9 and I kind of don't know what I am going to do when I am finished.  I have a few other series on my favorites list but guess I will have to wait and see what I am in the mood for when the time comes.

Here's hoping to a sunny day tomorrow to start melting some of that snow.

Until next time, be happy!
