Second Hand Shopping (Sept.20, 2025)

I had a really hard time falling asleep last night so I ended up getting back up and I sat and did a 500 piece puzzle that I had just picked up at the second hand store.

It took me a couple hours to do - it was a fun puzzle, I liked all the color blocks.

When I finished, I still didn't feel tired but I went to bed anyway and I did end up falling asleep eventually.

After my coffee, I decided to take a drive to Whitecourt to go to the second hand store and go for a run.

Jason wanted a long dress with long sleeves for a Halloween character he's going to make this year.
I found a few options.

This was the one I was thinking of going with.

He did say he wanted kind of a 70's vibe so I thought he might like this one.
So I sent him the options and none of them really jumped out at him so he told me to just get the longest one.

I found a bunch of puzzles and some clothes for the girls.

I found this little jacked that I thought Morgan might like for Whitney so I checked with her.
She said she loved it and if I could find a pair of size 5 boots that would be great too.

Then when I was standing in line to pay, I saw this wedding dress in the Halloween costume section.
It had a long train and long sleeves and I thought it might be perfect for what Jason was looking for.
I sent him the picture and he loved it.

I got a lot of things while I was there, spent a hundred bucks - sure goes further at the second hand store than anywhere else.

I hadn't eaten yet so I got myself an iced chai with pumpkin foam and an egg white wrap at Starbucks.
Then I went and parked at the park to eat it before my walk.

I started down by the river/golf course today and it was nice to just go a different way.

The trees are in all their Fall glory and they look just gorgeous.

There are a lot of dead trees on the bank of the river but it still looks very pretty.

It's hard to tell but the water is like an ice blue color, it's almost white.

I wanted to run the whole way but I couldn't - so I did a combo walk/run with mostly walking.
It was a lovely day.

I prefer the leaves on the trees of  course but the leaves collecting on the ground remind of what a nice Fall day should be like.

I made it back to the car and it was such a nice day that I was kind of sad that my walk was done.
Winter is just around the corner so there aren't too many more days like this left this year.

I ended up doing 6k

Here are the stats.

I went to the other second hand store and ended up finding some boots for Morgan then decided to stop and get myself some lunch before I headed home.

I sent Jason a text to see if he could guess where I was going for lunch.
He guessed it right away.

I got dumplings at this little bubble tea spot in Whitecourt - they are so good.

When I got home, I should have got to work right away on the blog which I am still way behind on but instead I decided to do one of the puzzles I picked up this morning, just a 300 piece.

It had nice thick pieces and there wasn't a whole lot of color but it was still fun.

It took me about an hour to get it finished.

Kody called to see if the girls could come over for the night.
They'd been asking too.
So Haylee dropped Eden off first but kept Freya - they were going to visit friends.
Then later in the evening, Kody came back and dropped off Freya.

She really wasn't feeling the best and spent most of the evening curled up on the couch watching YouTube videos.
Eden loved all the new toys I'd picked up for her today and played with those.

When Jason got home, he made pizza for supper
One pepperoni.

And one with olives.
Very thin crust just the way I like it.
It was so good.

We ended up going to be fairly early for a weekend.
I was tired from getting very little sleep last night and Freya wasn't feeling well.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
