Las Vegas - Capriotti's, Pasabocas, Summerlin, Our Lady Peace & Pinkbox (Aug.31, 2025)

We were up and out for a run/walk again this morning.

Jason was doing a longer one today, I just did my usual 6k loop down to Fremont and back.

Jason was sending me pictures along the way, an earring he found.

 A mural on a building.

An advertisement for a landscaper stuck in a fence.

Another mural that he saw.

He ran to North Las Vegas.

I noticed when I walked through Fremont St. that there is a free concert there tonight.

After my walk, Jason texted to see if I wanted to walk over and meet him at Capriotti's - a sandwich shop we saw the other day across from Yukon Pizza so I did.

It was the funky looking building I took a picture of - it's all windows so it's nice and bright in there.

I ordered the turkey sandwich.

Jason got one with assorted meats and they were so good.
The bread was fantastic and fresh and we loved it.

Always love it when we try a new place and it's good.

I love all the palm trees along this road.

We went to the pool at the hotel for a while this afternoon.

It was a pretty great way to spend an afternoon.

There are some shaded areas but I wanted to be in the sun.

I like this pool - It's not crazy busy and it's not party central either.

My handsome hunk.

Jason wanted to go to a Mexican place that he found but it was closed today.

There was this bakery nearby though so we stopped in there to check it out.
Pasabocas.

I like their little mascot guy.

The decor inside was bright and fun.

I love the colorful flags.

I like the lighted letters.

This little house on the wall was cute.

They had their own neon sign.

There was a nice mural on the wall too.

I got myself an iced coffee.

We bought a couple desserts.

Including a tres leches - it was really good.

It wasn't really a meal but it tided us over for a bit while we did some shopping at a nearby Target.

We noticed a ramen spot right by the Target.
Jason looked it up and the ratings were good so we decided to try it out.

The door greeter.

They had deep fried, battered green beans that I totally wanted to try and I'm glad I did.
They were yummy.

We both got the tonkotsu.

I got corn and fried garlic added to mine.
I also opted to have the chicken instead of the pork belly (I don't really care for pork belly).

Enjoying our ramen.
It was good, I'd eat there again.

After that, we drove over to Summerlin.
I've seen this downtown area on Travel Ruby's channel that I wanted to find and check out.

We found it.
There was this colorful ball sculpture thing - it was really hard to get a good picture of it because of how the sun was shining in behind it.

This was in the shopping area as well - It looks like a sculpture but I think it's also some kind of jungle gym for kiddos.

The sign for a restaurant.
Pretty fancy.

Cool water feature.

We passed Shake Shack and I noticed that they had a Dubai Chocolate Pistachio Shake.

You know I had to try it.

It was topped with pistachios and coconut.
It was good - very rich - not something I could have a lot of but a nice treat.

We sat at some tables there and just enjoyed the shake and the weather.

The Jing restaurant.
Be this place is really nice at night with all the lights.

This whole area was really nice.

We came across a K-Pop store with some La Bu Bu dolls.

Freya likes them but honestly, I ordered her one before and she was excited to open it but never touched it since.

They did have all these collectible figurine sets though that Jason and I both thought were adorable.

We ended up buying three different ones from three different collections.
It's a surprise as to which one you get.
These could be dangerous to me - I'm one of those people that if I like something that is a collectible, I want to get all of them, I want to have the whole collection.

I was glad we finally got to see Summerlin and we probably would have found a spot to have some supper there but we wanted to get back to the strip so we could go to the free concert on Fremont.

The sky was looking beautiful.

We took these from the parking garage at the Strat.
We parked then walked down to Fremont for the show.

There's Good Pie again.
We didn't even end up eating here this trip.

More murals along the way.

Yoda and Baby Yoda.

There were several bands playing.
This was a cover band that did 80's and 90's rock - they were really good.

The big event though was Our Lady Peace.

I knew a few of their songs - it was cool to see them in person.

They are a Canadian group.

There were quite a few people there.

Kind of a cool place to have a concert.

My Honey and I.

This was the band playing down at the end where the Plaza is.

They were singing in Spanish and the crowd there watching them was into it.
They were singing and dancing and just having a great time.

We walked over to The Plaza after the concert.

The new chandelier at the outdoor round bar is AMAZING!

Pinkbox was still open so we stopped in to grab a donut.

I love the door.

We got two - I can't remember which flavors we picked but I do remember that they were good.

I just love all the lights.

Saw this car while heading back to the Strat.
Look how low it is to the ground.

Racked up a pretty good amount of steps again.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
