Las Vegas - Chip Cookie, Peg's, Thai Street Eats, Fantastic Four & Green Valley Ranch (Aug.30, 2025)

We were up and out early again this morning to get some steps in.

Jason did a run, I did a walk.

I enjoy going out for the fresh air and it's a chance to listen to my latest book as well.

I have been doing a loop every morning where I walk down Las Vegas blvd up to Fremont then back to the Strat via Main St in the arts district so I pass by this every morning.

It's about 6k overall and Jason's been running 10k which takes him about the same time.

We often meet up near the end then we do his cool down walk together.

We have run up the strip towards MGM but can get really crowded that way so over here is much nicer.

Guess Elvis is still a draw for people.

Jason passed the Neon museum on his run this morning.

Giant high heel shoe just up on a post.
Where else but Vegas?

Sidewalk art.

He passed the Natural History Museum as well - we've never actually checked this out.

I used to think I liked White Castle but then we had it and I realized that it is not for me.

I like the artwork on The English which is a boutique hotel in the Arts District.

We went back to the hotel after our run/walk, changed then headed out to do some shopping.

First stop was this cookie place with really great reviews that Jason found online, Chip Cookies.

Everything happens in Vegas apparently.

It was really nice inside. Bright and clean are airy.

They had lots of delicious looking options.

Vegas Chip

Tres Leches

I think this was a graham one.

You could add your own toppings too if you wanted to.

These were the four we went with.

They were good - warm and chewy.
I think I would say that Crumbl is better though.

We went to a place called Peg's for breakfast.

I had a specialty coffee.

I had the strawberries and whipped cream french toast.

Jason had an omelet.

It came with a side of pinto beans which is his favorite.

We were in this area that had a bunch of stores.
This one in particular had a bunch of cool stuff outside.

Like this transformer.

And this one.
They were for sale.
Who would even buy this stuff? Where would you put it?

There was a Spirit Halloween so we took a walk through there to see what animatronics they had this year.

I really liked this one - Jason thought it was just meh.

This one was GIANT - it would be pretty awesome to have that on display in the yard.

We went into Marshall's and Jason found this little jean dress he thought Freya might like.
He texted Haylee to ask Freya and she said she did so we bought it.
I got the girls a few other things - we love shopping for them when we are away from them.

I was going to get this one for Eden but then after I ended up finding something else I liked better.

We also hit up a Hobby Lobby - I picked up a bunch of stuff to make Freya a keepsake book with her letters from Ivy.

We shopped and window shopped all afternoon.

Then when it was time for supper, we went to this Thai place near by.

There was some really great artwork inside of the restaurant.

It was hard to get a good picture of it because it was so large.

So it took a few tries.

This little character is super cute.

Jason ended up getting the Thai Beef Salad.

It sounds interesting - except for the cilantro of course.

I opted for the Pad Thai.

I got it with the shrimp and it was good.

Then we found a movie theatre nearby and went to see Fantastic Four.

It had the really nice recliner seats and each seat had it's own little table with a cup holder which was awesome.
Jason didn't have high hopes for the movie but we both ended up liking it.

There was a casino next door to the theatre and it had all these trees lit up in front of it.

Then in the parking lot area there was this whole section of trees lit up with all different colors.

I don't know what it is about lights like these - they are just so magical.

There were yellow lights.

And pink and blue.
Very pretty.

Sinc
Since we were nearby, we decided to stop in at the Green Valley Ranch Casino.

It had some neat artwork on the walls.

The pin up girls with transportation.

They were neat.

It's a pretty casino.

I love the ceilings.

Grand chandelier.

I couldn't get over how many corbels there were on the ceiling.

There was a Baskin Robbins so of course we had ice cream.

I love hard ice cream in the summer time and summer is almost over so need to pack in as much as I can.

I had two flavors - Baseball Nut

And Tropical Ticket.

The had a pizza place that sold slices and the pepperoni looked pretty darn good so we shared a slice of that too.

We did a bit of gambling before we left.
Jason broke even but I was down about 40 bucks.
I'm glad I didn't have any more cash on me because I think I would have put more in the machine if I had it.

It was a game just like the piggy game but it was a sheep and it was so huge I was convinced it was going to pop soon.
It might have but I also could have thrown 100 bucks more in and still walked away with nothing so it was just as well that I left it when I did.

My step count dropped a bit today due to having the car I think but still not a bad total for a day.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
