Freya's First Time Seeing the Northern Lights (Oct.1, 2025)

I got up super early this morning and had a nice hot bath.

What a way to start a day! (It's a great way to end a day too though truth be told.)

I was listening to this Kristin Hannah book, Magic Hour, on my Spotify account and I ran out of listening time for the month with only 11 minutes to go in the book - can you believe that?
I hate that about Spotify and they charge more for top up hours than they do for my monthly fee.
So I borrowed Jason's phone this morning and listened to the rest of it on his Spotify account.

It wasn't my favorite Kristin Hannah book ever but it was ok.

I dropped Freya off at school this morning.
I wasn't allowed to stay and wait with her - guess that means that she is growing up.

I had my mammogram today.
It's a slightly uncomfortable experience but worth it to stay on top of my health!
Afterwards, I picked Freya up from school and dropped her off at dance class.

Then I picked Eden and Haylee - dropped Haylee off at work and Eden came to hang out with me.
She just loved her little Halloween skirt she had on.
When she says 'Halloween' it sounds so cute.
I'll have to try to capture it on video.

She loves her little crocs too - I got her and Freya matching ones at Winners on the weekend.

Kody met me at Freya's dance when I went to pick her up.
He took Eden and Freya came with me - she wanted to visit for a bit.

I had to catch up on some Treasurer paperwork for my Mission Possible meeting tonight.
Jason got home just in time to let me walk over there then when I left, he and Freya just happened to be outside heading over to Swan Palace for something to eat.
Freya was hungry she said.

She's been very into Chow Mein recently.

She would not pose for a picture for me, little bugger.
I had a bowl of creamy chicken noodle soup and it hit the spot.

Then on the way home we were treated to some Northern Lights.

Freya was impressed - it was her first time ever seeing them.

I was trying out different settings on my phone camera to see if I could get some better pictures.

It's times like these that I wish I had a fancy camera but the pictures still turned out pretty good for a phone camera.

This is over our house.

They really are so beautiful.

We were going to drive to somewhere darker to see if we could see them better so we went inside and grabbed the keys but when we came back out they had kind of faded so we thought we'd missed our opportunity.

So Freya and I went inside then a few minutes later, Jason called us to come out back and have a look.

They were back and this time not just green but pinks and purples too.

Wow.

The pinks and purples were near the bottom and the houses and trees were kind of blocking them a bit so hard to get a picture of them.

I know there are some people who never get to experience the Aurora Borealis in real life so I feel fortunate that I've gotten to see them many times right where I live.

Freya really wanted to spend the night so we let her - I will take her to school in the morning.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
