We headed out for a run first thing this morning when we got up.
I did 5k - It was super hot out so I didn't run the whole time but I did do a lot of running.
We cleaned up back at the room then headed out for something to eat to a place Jason found on Google.
We had to walk past the Haunted Mansion to get to our destination.
We did go to the mansion on one of recent trips - it was fun but once was enough.
Made it to Huntridge and the place we were eating was Yukon Pizza.
It was a cool area with a bunch of different restaurants - it was our first time being here.
I love murals.
Yukon Pizza - this place had good reviews and we love trying out pizza places.
It wasn't huge inside but it was nice and it was busy which is a good sign.
They sold both slices and whole pizzas.
So we each got a slice.
We tried the You Had Me at Garlic
It had a garlic parmesan base with garlic oil, sliced garlic, roasted garlic, parmesan, mozzarella and spicy chili crisp and chili oil.
Then of course a pepperoni slice as well.
We also ordered a full pizza.
There were a couple tables outside so of course that's where we sat.
Need to soak up as much of this gorgeous weather as we can.
The slices were great so I couldn't wait to try the whole fresh pizza.
We got The Stewart.
It had zesty New York Sauce, a dusting of parmesan cheese and chili flakes and topped with spicy sausage, pepperoni and dollops of ricotta.
The dollops of ricotta were so good.
It was great pizza and I'm sure we will be back.
They had a few other pizzas that I would like to try next time.
You see so many neat things when you walk.
This rose on this building was so realistic looking.
There's the Strat off in the distance.
I love murals - they just make buildings so much more interesting - I think they add so much character.
Some of these are pictures that Jason took - things that spark interest for him.
I've seen this mural before I just think it's so fun.
Wonder what they sell at the Gamblers General Store?
We decided to walk over to the outlet mall.
Jason found a great deal on some Nike Vapourflys.
I found some Nike Flex which I've been looking for since I shrunk the ones I bought last year.
I wanted white but could only find them in black but they will do.
More murals we saw on the walk back to the Strat.
This was on the sidewalk.
Wonder how many people follow the instructions?
Each of these squares is a different painting.
I love it when they turn stuff like this from eyesores into pieces of artwork.
It's just so much nice to have a piece of artwork instead of this big old blank box sticking out in the middle of the sidewalk.
Cute.
Making our way back slowly.
Finding all the murals in the Arts district is so much fun.
It seems like we see something new every time we come.
It's pretty quiet in this part of town compared to mid strip and we like that.
I like this old building.
We stopped in to Cream Me for some ice cream.
We each tried two flavors.
Oatmeal Cream Pie
Kauai Pie
Strawberry Basil
And Caramel Coconut Macadamia because I'm a big fan of nuts in my ice cream.
The oatmeal one was the best but really none of them were that great - we didn't even finish which is unusual for us when it comes to ice cream.
More things Jason noticed that I did not.
He always notices the most interesting things.
Another brightly painted utility box.
This place always smells so amazing when we walk by but we've never actually stopped in and eaten here.
One of these days.....
Just randomly on the side of a building.
Lots of breweries down here with outdoor seating.
We made our way back to the room, had a little rest.
Then I put on some new shoes and we headed out again.
We decided to just walk up the strip.
We stopped at a ticket booth and bought some tickets to go see the Wizard of Oz at the Sphere.
They were so expensive - I hope it's worth it.
We walked through the Wynn - it's so pretty in here - reminds me of the Conservatory at Bellagio.
Except I don't think they change this one out.
I think it looked really similar to this every time we've ever come here.
This walkway through the giant flowers and the lights is lovely.
We were starting to get hungry so we stopped in at Gordan Ramsey's Burger place by Harrah's and the Linq.
We ordered the corn dip with blue tortilla chips and it was scrumptious.
Jason ordered the Cobb Salad because it had blue cheese.
Any chance he gets to order something with blue cheese he takes it.
I just had a burger with fries.
The bun was dry, the fries were not good, they were soft and not crispy the way I like them.
That might just be a personal preference but overall we felt like the food was way overpriced.
It wasn't very good and not at all worth what it cost.
Our meal was about $100 US which is ridiculous for a dip, a burger with fries and a salad.
Neither of us drink alcohol and in fact, I only had water and Jason had a pop.
I think partially you are paying for the location because it is mid strip and people watching from the outdoor seating area is fun but it isn't worth the price.
We don't mind having a pricey meal every now and then if it is actually good, this was not.
We will never eat here again.
We kept walking all the way down to the MGM.
We stopped to watch the Sphere.
I love seeing all the different things displayed on it.
The emoji guy is still my favorite.
It did rain, just a light sprinkle, but it felt really good.
We considered gambling a bit there at the MGM but to take money out of the bank machine, there was a $27 US fee.
So outrageous.
There was no way we were going to pay that.
We will go to a bank off strip tomorrow to get some cash.
We booked a car rental for a few days that we will pick up in the morning so we can go off strip and do a few things.
We took the monorail back to the Sahara then walked back to our room, got there around 9 pm.
We didn't do any gambling again.
Jason went to the gym to lift a few weights and I had a shower then we just chilled in the room for the rest of the evening.
Maybe lame for Vegas but it suits us just fine.
My feet were sore from all the walking we did today anyway.
I put on over 38,000 steps today.
That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
