Freya was up bright and early this morning so that meant so were Jason and I.
It was good though because he was able to get out for his run before I had to start work.
Around 9 am, Mel dropped off Hunter and Leland too - she's been getting called out to work at the golf course which is good.
Jason had picked up cupcakes for Freya yesterday and the kids got into them this morning.
Nothing wrong with having a nice sugary cupcake for breakfast right?
The kids were all playing together having a grand old time and it was another gorgeous day out there so Jason took them all down to the park.
He had his appointment today for his second vaccine shot at 12:30 so on my lunch hour, I walked down and met him at the park.
I was going to watch the kids while he went and got that done but Adrien happened to get there right around noon so he took the boys.
And Freya and I went to the pharmacy with Jason so I could capture the moment.
Also I thought it would be a good learning opportunity for Freya to see that needles are nothing to be afraid of.
She was talking to Dean the pharmacist and it was so cute.
She said 'what you doin doctor?"
Ha ha
He gave her a sucker before we left.
Haylee was taking Freya over to a friends place to play in their pool for the afternoon so after the pharmacy, we walked her home.
Jason was trying to take a picture of us together and she was just being silly.
We had decided to head to Jason's parents for a visit for a few days so I was trying to get in as many kisses as I could since I knew I wouldn't be seeing her for a few days.
She got her new bathing suit on that I got her.
It's already a bit on the small side.
Good thing I got one a size larger as well.
It does look cute on her - she loves all things rainbow, that's why I got it for her.
We visited for a little bit - I think neither one of us was looking forward to being away from Freya for so long but they are going camping for the weekend anyway with Haylee's family so we wouldn't be seeing her anyway so it was a perfect weekend to go.
Family photo!
We finally left and walked back up to the house so I could get back to work.
Sharon dropped by this morning and brought me some lilacs from her place which was so kind and thoughtful of her.
I just love lilacs so much.
Then after I finished work, Jason and I hit the road.
It's about a 4 hour drive to his parents and it was a lovely day for it.
It's been almost 2 years since I've seen them so it will be nice.
We stopped in High Prairie to get a few groceries and snacks and it was around 9:30 when we got to his parents place.
We hauled all our groceries in then Bertha joined Jason and I for a walk to the road just so I could get the rest of my steps in for the day.
It had been a scorcher of a day but had cooled down to just the perfect temperature for a walk.
I decided to head out for my run a bit earlier today.
I'll work through lunch instead.
I just wanted to see if going before I ate made any difference to how the run went or felt.
I did the 8 k route that I normally do - I actually added a bit on to the end to bump it up to 8.5k.
I didn't really feel any better or worse for not having eaten first so I'll just continue to do it on my lunch hour after this.
My splits and average pace were pretty much on par with what they have been.
I ate lunch when I got back and just worked through my lunch hour.
The kitties cuddled together on the bed like this all afternoon.
Jason was off today and he went for a long run then he walked down and picked up Freya.
They played at the park for a while then in the backyard until I got off work.
She loves climbing all over Jason's car that's parked out there.
There are a bunch of dead bugs on the dash inside the windshield and she was fascinated by them.
When I did get off work, we all went for a walk.
She likes to run up and down all the paths she sees along the way.
We stopped for ice cream and they had a little itty bitty baby cone.
Being silly.
We sat out on their picnic tables to eat the ice cream.
I didn't get one - I'm trying to stay on track this week.
Jason got one, just a little one and he did just run 22k this morning so I think he deserved it.
Someone taught her how to 'cheers' so she wanted to do that with the ice cream.
Why do kids bite the bottom of the cone first thing?
The cone was just the perfect size for her, she almost ate all of it.
It was a gorgeous evening out there tonight.
Freya is going to have a sleep over with us tonight because we are thinking of heading to Jason's parents for the weekend and Kody, Haylee and Freya are going camping with her mom and grandparents.
It was shaping up to be a beautiful day out there - just the way I like it!
My breakfast/lunch for today.
Since I just ran yesterday, today was my rest day of sorts.
I still headed out at lunch time for a walk.
I walk right by a big hedge of lilac bushes and they smell so wonderful.
I had to get up really close so I could just stand there and inhale the perfume from them.
I love lilacs so much, they remind me of PEI.
It was pretty windy out there - I tried to get a picture of the wind blowing the dust around - this didn't capture it very well.
I walked for an hour then worked for another hour then it was time to head down to the pharmacy for my 2nd Covid vaccination.
The pharmacist (Dean) posed so nicely for a picture with me.
That needle is full of the Moderna vaccine dose just for me.
He wanted me to be nice and relaxed while I was getting the shot so I took the picture right before.
So exciting to feel like life is going to start getting back to some semblance of normal.
I had to hang around the pharmacy for 15 minutes after the shot so I walked around a bit then decided to check out my blood pressure.
It was kind of high which surprised me, it was the last time I did it too.
I'll have to keep an eye on it I guess.
Haylee texted to see if I could watch Freya for a bit and I was just finishing up work so I told her to drop her off.
I just love spending as much time with her as I can.
We took selfies.
She wanted me to take a picture of her belly?
She sat on the couch to play with her tablet for a bit and I tried to get a nice picture of her.
First she gave me the look.
Then she made a crazy face.
I tried to get her to go for a walk down to the park or to the store because I needed more steps but she just wasn't interested.
I did manage to get her outside though and we sat on the swing together for a bit.
When Jason got home, she wanted a dance party.
Oh the life eh?
She'd have him carry her around all day if she could.
He'd probably do it too but she's getting bigger and carrying her around for that long gets hard after a while.
He introduced her to a new song and she just loved it.
Robot Pancake.
I think we listened to it about 5 times in a row.
Kody came to pick her up and she was excited for him to hear the new song and she just danced up a storm.
I cooked up veggies, potatoes and veggie sausages with onions and peppers for supper.
I didn't care for the veggie sausages but Jason thought they were ok.
We went for a quick walk after supper so I could get the rest of the steps in that I needed. It had cooled off significantly so we just went for a quick one.
Selfie time - front view.
Side view.
Back view.
Today was my sister's birthday so I chatted with her for a bit.
She and the boys were having ice cream cake to celebrate.
I didn't send her a gift yet but she still wants a number for her house so I'm going to make her one.
