I Ran 15k Today! (July 4, 2021)

My plan today was to go for a long run, I wanted to get in 13k which would be my longest run to date.

Took a couple of quick selfies before heading out.

That rest day yesterday was healing.
I was feeling really good and ended up doing 15 k.

The first gps shot is from the fitbit app on my phone and this one is from the fitbit dashboard on the computer.
I'm not sure why the second one doesn't show each km along the route - I wish it did, I kind of like that.

The Exercise details.
It took me almost 2 hours to finish but I was so proud when I did.

My average pace and my splits were even not to shabby.
I was tired when I finished but proud of myself for doing it.

I started watching this first thing this morning but it wasn't keeping my attention.
I kept stopping and doing other things.
Like looking at Facebook, going for a run then having a bath.
I did finally sit down after my bath and watch the rest of it.
I have to admit that it wasn't really  the best movie which was kind of disappointing.

I guess my body wanted to rest because I didn't really feel like doing anything else so I watched another movie.
Barb & Star go to Vista Del Mar.
It was a cute, cheesy movie.
No Oscar winner but entertaining anyway.

I had my sub from yesterday for lunch then I was really craving some ice cream so I went to the store and got a small container of sugar free ice cream for a treat.
It was just about 10 bucks but I figured if it satisfied my craving it would be worth it.
It wasn't the best but it was ok.

Haylee posted a bunch of pictures from their trip to Drumheller so I thought I would share.
Looks like they had a good time - wish I could have gone with them.

Haylee and Kody.

Being 'bad' in the badlands.

Trying out preaching.

Zepplyn looks like a natural.

The Hoo Doos.

It's dinosaur country out there and they really play that up.

Making silly faces.

Cooling down.

The water looks so nice.

Comparing their heights to dinosaur bones.

More dinosaurs out and about.

Pretty girl by some pretty flowers.
I just love petunias - they are so pretty and they bloom forever.

Freya and Haylee with the dinosaur.
It reminds me of one of the characters that used to be on Barney, Baby Bop I think her name was.

Haylee, Randy and Freya.
Today was Randy's birthday and that was the whole reason they went on the trip.

The girls with yet another dinosaur.

And another.

What a cool dudette!

In the mouth of the giant dinosaur in Drumheller.
I have this same exact picture but with Kody and Morgan.

This is the girls at his feet which gives you an idea of how tall that thing is.

Another of Haylee at the Hoo Doos.
There are some really neat things to see and do here in Alberta.

The birthday boy himself and Freya looking off into the distance.
It makes me so happy to see her experiencing things like this even if I can't always be there when she does.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

A Day at the "Lake" (July 3, 2021)

I had plans today to go to the lake and go out for a boat ride with Sharon and her son but she texted early to say that it was too cold and windy to go out.
So that left me with no plans for the day.

Sometimes that's a good thing then other times, it makes me feel restless.

I made a coffee and watched this movie I've been wanting to watch for a bit.
It was ok.

Watched a video on how to make these dolls on Facebook - they are so darn stinking cute.

I wanted to have a rest day today, from running at least, but I did go out this morning and get a nice long walk in.

When I got back to the house, I decided to head up to the lake anyway for a visit.
Even if we couldn't go for a boat ride, it would still be nice to see everyone.

I stopped at Sharon's lot first - they were working on building steps to her trailer and she had to go to High Prairie to pick up lumber so while she did that, I walked over to visit Bonnie at her lot.

She has a really nice place here (both her and Sharon do)

It was a bit on the chilly side today so everyone was wearing hoodies/coats/pants.
We just hung out in their kitchen area all day and visited.

It was very relaxing.
Even Cami was enjoying herself.

Charlotte and Jordy were there with their kids so I got to visit with them too.

When Sharon got back from High Prairie, she cam over to Bonnie's to visit.
I tried to take a picture of us but she didn't want any part of it, at first.

I convinced her otherwise though and we got a good picture.
We were enjoying a good laugh over it.

It got a bit nicer and at one point, I was actually able to take off my hoodie for a bit and enjoy the warmth of the sun.

Bonnie and June made supper for me.

Baked potato, macaroni salad and steak.
It has been a long time since I had a baked potato and it was so delicious.
The steak and salad were delicious too.

I had picked up a sub this morning before heading out here so nobody would have to feed me but since I didn't eat it, I'll just have it for lunch tomorrow.

I stayed out there visiting until 9:30pm then I headed home.

When I got home, I watered my plants then went for a bit of a walk.
I still had 2000 more steps to go before I hit the 12,000 mark and wanted to make sure I made it.
I did!

Saw these 'biker chicks' on Facebook today - what a cool idea.

More affirmations.
I am a magnet for money. Prosperity of every kind is drawn to me.

Affirmations (July 2, 2021)

I was supposed to be taking the day off today since I'd worked yesterday.

Mom and I were going to head to the city but I took her with me to Slave Lake last night and she got everything she needed so I decided I didn't really feel like driving into the city.

Since I didn't really have any other plans, I ended up working all day instead.
I had a few things that I've been procrastinating on and I decided to just get them done and out of the way.

It was a gorgeous day out there and I did decide to head out for a run just after lunch.

I did my regular route since it's been awhile.
I really wanted to get at least 8k in and I did.

It was hot out there so it was tough and my splits weren't the greatest but still felt good to get it done.
I remembered to do some stretches when I got home.

I also took a few sweatie selfies.

Back view.

One of the only things I hate about summer - bug bites.
This one was an itchy bugger.

I cooked up chicken in the slow cooker today then made green & yellow string beans and a salad to go along with it.
It was yummy!

I used to be really into affirmations and a few popped up on my Facebook feed that resonated with me.
Like this one.

And this one.
I'm a big believer in affirmations and I kind of stopped using them but I am going to start again.

This meme made me laugh because it's so true.
I've driven across Canada a few times now and it takes two and a half days of straight driving (60 hours) to get from here (Alberta) to PEI - most of that feels like its in Ontario.
It honestly feels like Ontario is never going to end.

I saw this on Facebook too - book benches.
Aren't they neat?

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
