No More Daily Weigh Ins (Aug.27, 2019)

I didn't get up early this morning to work out but I did make the effort to get in 1000 steps each hour.
It means a lot of laps around the office and a few extra to the road but I think it worth it.

I decided that I'm not going to weigh myself every day anymore.
I'm going to cut back to once a week.
Really if I'm losing, I shouldn't have to weigh in at all, I should be able to feel it.
I do want to keep track though.
Who knows, maybe I'll cut back to every second week or once a month down the road.

My Honey made us a delicious omelet for lunch.
I love it when he is on days off.

I racked up 40 minutes on the treadmill today with my ons and offs.

My Honey went out berry picking again and I watched the Little Couple.

Miss M, her mom & I decided to go to a paint night tomorrow night so I signed us up for that before hitting the hay.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy.

Stepping Up My Game (Aug.26, 2019)

Even though we'd gone to bed fairly early, I didn't sleep well and so was super tired still in the morning.
I skipped working out in order to catch a few more zzzz's.

When I weighed in I completely regretted it.
Going the wrong way and I know I keep saying it but I just have to do something about it.

My Honey sent me this picture.
Said he and the kitties were having a meeting and Professor Snuggles was staging a peaceful protest.

He's going to make a shelf for the tv and found a few boards to use.
He ultimately chose the smaller board for the color and put two of them together to make a wider board.

He made us a fresh salad for supper with some of his sausage that he made cut up into it.
It was perfect.

I had checked the mail today and there was a birthday card for Miss A from her Pepe (my dad) so we walked over there to drop it off to her.

Mr H was so excited to see My Honey as always.

Miss A was more excited about getting the birthday card.

Then we walked down to my son's for a visit.

Miss H was playing ball so it was just Baby F and her daddy at home.

As soon as she saw me get my phone out to take some pictures, she was right over there checking it out.

I put it in selfie mode and let her have it.

She was snapping all kinds of pictures of herself.
She knew just where to touch the screen to do it.

It kept her entertained for quite some time.

I kind of love these pictures that she took of herself.

Those lips though!!!

She came over to sit with me and took a selfie of us together.

Ha ha - the looks she gives, so funny.

Eventually she did lose interest in the phone and played with her new kitty.

The kitty has a name!
Talula, Lula for short.

I think they are going to be great friends.

Then a show came on and the theme song captured her attention.

It's called Ranger Rob and I think she watched the whole opening without blinking.

She is just the cutest and I'm so thankful to have her in my life!

After our visit, we walked back home.

I was hopping on the treadmill every chance I could today to make sure I reached my step goal and by the end of the day I had racked up 36 minutes.
Every little bit counts!

I worked really hard to reach my hourly goals and my total step goal for the day.
In fact, I gave myself the mini challenge of walking at least 1000 steps every hour.

I had to make a conscious effort to do it but I did and I'm proud.
I love seeing all that green, BOOM!

That it all for today, until next time, be happy!

Work Out Room 'Make Over' (Aug.25, 2019)

After seeing the picture of myself sitting on the chair on the deck at my son's yesterday, it gave me a renewed sense of urgency to get something done about my weight.
So My Honey & I worked out first thing this morning.
I'm still not jogging but I'm walking on a 5.0 incline and I got 50 minutes in.

I got my sweat on and I felt great.

My Honey made us an omelet for breakfast and we had some left over spinach dip bread and pineapple from yesterday.

Then I got working on my blog and My Honey left to go berry picking.

He sent me this picture when he got there.
Seems he picked up a berry picking partner along the way.

He ran into my brother and Mr H out for a walk.
He asked if Mr H wanted to go with him and of course he jumped at the chance.

Meanwhile, I changed the basement work out room around to accommodate the new tv we picked up Friday.
It's a smart tv with a wifi connection so we'll be able to watch Netflix and YouTube on it.
There is no cable connection here so before when we had a tv in the workout room all we could watch was dvd's.
This will be much nicer.

My Honey brought Mr H back to the house after berry picking.
He 'helped' me in the basement while My Honey cooked supper.

He bbq'd a piece of trout.
OMG - it was sooooo good.

He also made potatoes and veggies to go along with it.
I had a few mini biscuits from yesterday too.
I was eating those things all day long, they are dangerous.
He mixed together cream cheese and fresh raspberries to go on them and it's a combination I just can't resist.

After supper, Mr H just zonked right out.

My heart just overflows with love for them when I see them sleeping like this.
If I've been harsh or cross with them, I regret it terribly at moments like this.
I know it's necessary sometimes but when I see him like this, it reminds me that really, he's just a baby and these times are precious because it won't take long before he's all grown up.

We were going to walk him home again but it started raining so my brother came and picked him up.

My Honey and I headed to bed not much longer after that, it's been a busy weekend and we were tired.

Someone back home in PEI posted this lovely picture of my two great aunts on my dad's side.
I remember visiting them as a child and they were always so happy to see us and so loving.
They just doted on us.
Sweet ladies.
Sadly, they are no longer with us and haven't been for a very long time.
I do wish that all the people we love could stay here on this earth with us forever.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Baby F's First Birthday Party! (Aug.24, 2019)

Woke up to this little snoozing away beside me.

They just look so sweet and innocent when they are sleeping.
Makes me feel like I just want to protect him from any harm or sadness that might ever come his way.

My Honey was still sleeping to - Mr H stayed vertical last night instead of turning and taking up the whole bed so I think we all slept rather well.

When they did get up, it was immediately time to play.

Mr H thought that was just great.
Nice to see such big smiles first thing in the morning.

He found a bath bomb so of course he wanted to have a bath and try it out.

After that, we spent the morning getting ready for Baby F's birthday party.
I offered to make a meat & cheese tray, a fruit tray and My Honey was making biscuits.
I ran out of time so didn't quite get the growth chart finished but I'll get it done in the next few week or so.

Then we headed over to the birthday party.

The birthday girl was all decked out in the cutest pink frilly dress.

I just love her hair when it's up in pony tails or pig tails.
Looks so cute.

She was greeting her guests as they arrived.

These little girls are all right around the same age and their moms are all friend so it's good that they'll have each other for playmates.

They were all kind of interested in doing their own things.

This car seems to be a hit with all the babies.

Now another one is having a turn in it.

The Frozen car was popular too - Baby F seemed to stick more to that one today.

Miss H had a ball pit set up in the living room for them.
She also had it decorated very nicely.

This scary pirate showed up at the party.

The sun decided to come out so the party moved outside.

Baby F just loves playing in the water so this water table gets lots of use.

She did leave the water table long enough to go play on the slide with Daddy.

She was just loving it.

Her daddy was having just as much fun as her!

Some were even brave enough to try out the slip & slide.

My Honey got these great action shots of the kiddos on the slip and slide.

Miss A gave it a go.

She went down on her knees.

At first Miss Z just ran down the slide, she wasn't ready for the full meal deal.

Mr H was though, he got right in there.

So then Miss Z figured she'd go full in.

When the clouds covered the sun, it was pretty chilly.

Had to sit by his big sis to warm up.

Baby F went over to check out the sprinkler part of the slip & slide - that was enough for her.

Her little friend got right in there though, clothes and all, and it didn't bother her one little bit.

I think he might be a tad big for this slide.

This little one just stuck to the water table the whole time.

Baby F actually came over and sat with me for a bit.

My Honey is so good with the kiddos, they just naturally seem to flock to him.

Another chilly kiddo snuggling up to Miss M to warm up.

She wants to share her toy with My Honey.

I think Baby F has her old grandpa wrapped around her little finger.
It's sweet to see.

Not sure if she'd interested in the flower or the elephant planter itself.

Still playing away with that water table.
It's nice to finally have some weather where they can do that.
It's been a horrible summer weather wise - rain pretty much every day.

I love Miss A's bathing suit - it's so cute.

My Honey bought a giant beach ball sprinkler for the kids to play with, they quite enjoyed it.

One of the mom's.

My Honey.

The gorgeous Miss M.

The grandparents.

My SIL.

Baby F's great grandma.

Another Baby F checking out the Little Tykes car.

It's so sweet how Mr H is always so tender and gentle with Baby F, he really loves her.

Then my son got out the bubbles which kiddos always love.
I love them myself.

My Honey captured this awesome moment in time when Miss Z was just about to pop a bubble.

I think the other babies were having fun.

She wanted to share her strawberry with My Honey.

It started to chill off so we went inside and got out the pinata.
Since she was the birthday girl, Baby F got the first turn.

We had brought a rolling pin over to do the whacking with but it was a bit much for the littles to handle.

So we got them a wooden spoon instead.

This Baby F seemed to enjoy it.

This little wanted a try with the big old rolling pin (It was as big as her).

She gave it a good try though.

Mr H meant business - he was determined he was going to smash that thing.
We told each kid they could have two whacks the first go round but he managed to squeak in a few extra.

Then it was Miss Z's turn - the whacking stick was a bit much for her to handle to but she managed.

Miss A's BFF took shot (incidentally, she is a Miss A as well).

Miss A gave it a good old whack and we thought that would do the trick but surprisingly, it did not.
After a few rounds, we could see that whacking it wasn't going to do the trick.
So the kids all held on to some of the streamers at the bottom and pulled together - we thought that would pull it apart.
It didn't.

In the end, My Honey just broke it apart.
The kids didn't mind, they were more interested in the candy all over the floor.

Then it was time for cake.

We sang Happy Birthday to her and she snuck in a taste of the cake.

It might have been more than a little taste, her hand was covered in icing.

Hey, where did that cake go? Bring it back!

She got the first piece and she got right down to business.

Yum Yum.

I love the bib she was wearing.
Her great grandma got it for her.

The older kids got quite the haul but they were careful to make sure they left some for the little kids too.

Then it was present time.

Miss H read out the cards while Baby F opened her gifts.

She did have some help.

After presents, she retired to the ball pit.

And I really do mean retired.
Being the belle of the ball is exhausting work.

I think she could have had a nap right there.

But she had some new toys that she wanted to check out first.

Just chilling with mom in the ball pit.

That ball pit was a big hit.

Miss A preferred the mini sofa.

We stayed to help clean up after everyone else left.

Mr H wanted to stay and play with Miss Z so we told my brother we'd bring him home after.

They are the same age and they play so well together.
It was so cute to watch her pushing him on the swing.

After we got to our place, we realized that he didn't have a shirt so I had to give him one of mine.

My Honey gave him a hat too as a joke but he put it right on and wore it.

Didn't phase him one bit.

The shirt was a bit big but he wasn't concerned about that at all.

After we dropped him off, we headed home and I had quite a mess to clean up there as well.
Once we cleaned up, I was just exhausted so we pretty much chilled on the couch for the rest of the evening.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
