Off to Portland, Oregon! (May 16, 2018)

I got up super duper early this morning.
I wanted to start work early so that I could leave early and I was in there by 5:30 am.

The sun was setting and it looked beautiful!

Almost looks like a fire off in the distance.

Seems you can never catch all the beauty in a photo.

I had peanut butter toast again and it was so good.
I sometimes forget how much I love peanut butter.
I worked until 11 am then I headed home.

We realized half way into the city that we forgot our Garmin so when we got into St Albert we stopped at Canadian Tire to get one.
I also stopped into Bootlegger so I could pick up the top that I had ordered.

There was a Timmie's in the mall so I couldn't resist and got myself a chocolate chip iced cappucino.

There was also a spot that sold pizza cones so we had to get one to try.
It tasted pretty good actually.

We left there and headed over to the airport.
It didn't take as long to get over there as we expected it would.

We parked at the JetSet parking again.
We got through security really quickly so had lots of time to spare.

We went to Chilli's so I could have a Caesar.

Love this guy!

We got chips and guacamole too.

My Honey also got a bowl and it was really tasty but it was too spicy for me.

Our gate was the very last gate.

We flew with Air Canada this time which was a switch.
Guess I didn't have to be concerned about a pilot strike after all.

Before long we were up and away.

I picked these up at the airport and we enjoyed them on our flight.

The first leg of the trip took us to Vancouver.
They've done lots of renovations in the airport there I think, it looks great.

Getting through security and customs went smoothly again so again we had a bit of time.

We found a place that sold Tom Kha Gah so we got a bowl and shared it.

It was just about as hot as the surface as the sun and I majorly burnt my tongue with the very first bite.

We had to let it cool off a bit but it was delicious.

Then we found our gate and waited to board.

I was browsing the internet and came across this.

Well who knew?
Guess I was today years old too when I found this out.

Ha ha!
I don't really believe this though - I think getting old is a privilege denied to many and I am thankful for every day that I have.

Facebook Memory
My grade 9 prom back in 1987!
I wasn't much of a fashionista back then either!

It was looking like a lovely sunny day here in Vancouver.

Heading out from Vancouver.

It was a much smaller plane over to Portland and only a quick 45 minute flight.

There were only 2 seats on either side of the aisle so we had our row to ourselves.

Flying over the mountains was beautiful.

I sat by the window and we picked the right side of the plane because we were treated to an awesome view of Mount St Helen.

We  arrived in Portland right on schedule and the weather was just beautiful.

We had a rental car reserved with Dollar Rental.
They talked us into an upgrade, a Subaru Outback.
My Honey was interested in maybe getting one so it will be a good test drive.

We had some trouble getting the Garmin going but we did manage to find the hotel.
It is a little further out from the downtown core but appears to be a nice area.
I just love this city, it is so beautiful.

The hotel clerk was very friendly - he gave us some pointers on things to do in Portland.

I thought it was a great room.
Big and spacious.

It had a little living room area as well.

As soon as we were in the hotel I checked to see if Roloff Farms had emailed me back and they had.
Appointment is still on for tomorrow even though they haven't gotten my cheque yet.
I am so excited.

I grabbed some snacks when we checked in and I am going to have some now then head to bed.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Sunshine Makes the World a Brighter Place, Literally! (May 15, 2018)

I was on plan all week on weight watchers so I figured it would show up on the scale this morning and it did.

I was in the mood for peanut butter toast this morning so I made some when I got to work and it totally hit the spot.

It was a gorgeous day out today so I managed to get out for a walk to the end of our lane.

It was nice to get some fresh air.

Sunshine on my shoulder makes me happy!

Even though there is still lots of brown, it won't be long until it all turns green and I am excited for that.

Lunch was a chicken breast and left over salads from yesterday.
I have been uploading pictures non stop on the blog and trying to get caught up before we head out tomorrow so I spent my whole lunch hour on the computer.

Then it was back to the office for more time on the computer only this time doing work stuff.

I rocked out to some great tunes this afternoon at my desk.

I guess one of the admins in GP put in her notice so I had to make arrangements to go up there and do some training.
I will do that when I get back.
It is nice that I get to do a bit of travelling around Alberta for my job.
It is a beautiful province.

The dresser that I ordered from Amazon still has not arrived.
I called UPS because the tracking number shows that it has been sitting in Edmonton since May 1.
We are only about two hours away from Edmonton so there is no way it should be taking this long to get here.
They assured me it would arrive this afternoon but when the UPS guys showed up, still no dresser.
I went out and spoke to them, (they aren't actually UPS, they are just a sub contractor) and I gave them my tracking number so they are going to check at the warehouse for my dresser and hopefully it will be here tomorrow).

After work I got straight back at it with the blogging - which truth be told, it's turned into more of a journal than a blog but I am ok with that.
Even if My Honey & I are the only one that reads this, it will be great when we are old and grey to sit back and read this and be reminded of all the little things that made up our days.

Our house is becoming a bit of the neighbourhood hang out for cats.
My Honey says we'll have to stop feeding them even though he is the only one that does any feeding.
He won't stop either, he is too soft hearted and he loves those kitties.
I think our kitties enjoy having the friends anyway.

When he got home from work we went out for supper, but first we checked in for our flight tomorrow.
We don't usually do that in town here but neither of us felt like cooking and nothing at the store really appealed to us.

He had the special hot pot that he always gets.

It's one of his favorite dishes and he is so excited to be having it again!

I had chicken fingers and fries.

My SIL was working so we chatted with her for a bit.

Ipad brought a friend over with him when he came to visit.

She was interested in what was going on in our place.
Surprisingly, Paddington didn't seem to be that interested in her.

It was late when we got home and I had plans on going in to work early tomorrow so I could leave early so I wanted to get to bed at a decent hour.

I did a bit more blogging though and packed so tomorrow when I get off we can head straight out.

I am so excited!!!

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Pedi Day (May 14, 2018)

Back to the grind today.
Same old, same old at work today.
I weighed in first thing this morning.

254.85 lbs
I have one week of following WW to plan under my belt.
It works when I follow it and it isn't that hard, just need to keep plugging away at it.

For lunch I made myself a sandwich and had some leftover salads.
I worked on my blog - I've let myself get way behind again which always happens after a vacation.
We are going away again here right away and I want to be as caught up as possible before we go.

After work, I picked up mom and we headed to WCT for our pedicure appointments.
We got there a little early so I went to Timmies for a treat.
I got myself a chocolate chip iced cappuccino and mom opted for a orange/pineapple/guava smoothie.

Time for a spruce up.

We got there right before 6 pm which was our appointment time and they took mom fairly quickly but I sat there until almost 7 pm before they got started on me.
I was kind of annoyed but not at the girl that did mine, I know it isn't her fault that they booked the appointments so close together.
Before.

After!

I love the color that I choose this time.
Anyway, I finally got done and we headed over to Walmart so mom could pick up a present for Mr H.
His birthday is on May 23 but they are having his party this week because his grandpa is going to be in town.
That means My Honey and I will miss it but we'll have a little get together when we get back.
My Honey's birthday is coming up too so we will combine them.

I called my SIL to see what we could get and she suggested a Paw Patrol scooter she'd been looking at.
We didn't fiddle around at all, we just went straight down to the toy department, found the scooter and bought it.

We stopped at McDonalds for some supper - I wanted something quick because I wanted to get back on the road and head home.
I got two hamburgers with ketchup and onions which is my favorite thing there and a small fries with hot mustard sauce to dip them in.
Mom had a couple wraps.
We just went through the drive-thru and I ate on the road.

It was 9:30 when we got home which was later than expected but still not too bad.

My hand is raised so high right now!!!

Once home, I pretty much headed straight to bed.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
