No More Snow Please (Feb.25, 2021)

It was another lonely morning here in my home office but I managed to make it through 😉

It has snowed some so at lunch I went out and shoveled then I decided to head to my actual office to work for the afternoon.

I hadn't been down there for over a week and I had things I needed to print off and I had to check to see if there was any new work for me on my desk (there was lots!).

A few folks were there that normally aren't in the office as they are preparing for a turn around so it was nice to see them and chat to real live people again (who aren't related to me).

I also had a few parcels arrive there today including the sewing machine that I ordered.

I can't wait to give it try this weekend.

I considered heading to Barrhead to pick up my new glasses that are in but the weather kind of took a turn for the worse so I decided not to chance it.

Instead I headed to the store and picked up ingredients for supper then I headed home to a fully snowed in driveway.

It took me about an hour to shovel everything again but I got all my steps in so that was good.

No official workout today - all my steps came from shoveling.

I don't mind shoveling at all and it's nice that it helps me to get steps in but to be completely honest, I'm so done with snow and ready for spring to arrive already!

Come on Mother Nature - give us a break.

I made a shrimp stir fry for supper, even cooked up basmati rice from scratch.
It was pretty good.

I decided on what to do with the top of the table.
I taped off three borders and did one in pink, one in yellow and one in purple.
All girlie colors that I love.

I think it turned out pretty good.
A small bit of the purple ripped off when I pulled the tape off but aside from that (which I easily painted back in), I think it looks pretty good.
I'm going to let it dry overnight then tomorrow I will varnish it.
It should be all ready to go for when she sleeps over on the weekend.

I caught up on a couple episodes of This is Us before Jason got home from work then we watched some One Bite Pizza reviews before heading to bed.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

The Lady with the Creepy Dolls - That's Me! (Feb.24, 2021)

Jason was back to work today so I had a lonely morning at the office.

There are things I love about working from home but I do miss seeing all my co-workers and am looking forward to the day we can go back and see each other again.

I made myself another healthy breakfast plate - so good.

I got a second coat put on the legs of the table.
Now I just have the top left to do then a varnish on top and it will be good to go.

My brother asked if I could pick Hunter and his buddy that Mel babysits, Leeland, up from school at lunch.
His job went a little longer than he expected.
Leeland is so funny, he's met me several times before but when I picked him up, he came with me to my car no problem but then he said "I don't know you".
I reminded him that he'd been to my house before and he didn't like my dolls.
He remembered that "Oh yes, you have the dolls that creep me out".
Ha ha

I just got them set up to play the playstation and Adrien arrived to pick them up.

So I was able to hop on the treadmill at lunch time.
I did the 1 and 1 workout today.
I was determined to run for 1 minute at 6.8 today and I did it!

Sweaty and proud!

My brother ended up getting called to another job so he brought the boys back but they just played video games while I worked.

Mel came to pick them up before I was done work so I didn't really get to hang out with them.

After work, I went to the store and mom offered to buy Jason and I supper.
She wanted chicken fingers and a salad from the restaurant and I just ordered a Greek salad for Jason and I to share.
I picked up some stewing beef to cook up to go with it.

Jason and I had planned on going for a walk when he got home from work but I decided to go for my little 2000 loop just so I wouldn't need as many steps later on.

That kind of snowballed because it was nice out and I pretty much did my whole normal route and I'm glad I did because Jason ended up working really late so we wouldn't have been able to go.

We pretty much just ate supper then it was off to bed.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Tutti Frutti Pink! (Feb.23, 2021)

Breakfast of Champions!

Apple, orange, cucumber, eggs, blackberries and sliced deli turkey.
That should keep me full for a bit.

We got our bonuses last week from work and I also cashed out a bit of my share savings so I was able to pay off a big chunk of my credit card debt.

It finally updated today so I was officially able to lower my credit limit today and it felt AWESOME!

One of my 50x50 goals is to pay off debt and I'm hoping I can be debt free by my 50th birthday which will be April 2022.
I believe I can do it!

Kody got called in to work and Haylee was out so he brought Freya over.
He got there right at lunch and I had been planning on hopping on the treadmill but Jason had gone to the store so instead, Freya and I did some Leslie Sansone walking together.

I still had a half hour of my lunch break left when Jason got home so I did hop on the treadmill for a bit.

I did the 1 minute walk, 1 minute jog workout again so I got a pretty good sweat on even in that short amount of time.

Meanwhile, Jason and Freya painted some Easter Eggs.
They were from a kit that I picked up for her at the dollar store.

It quickly escalated to Freya painting on herself.

Ha ha - what a goofy girl.
When they finished painting, Jason had to give her a bath and Haylee dropped over to pick her up just as they were finishing.

I still needed some steps so when I finished work for the day, Jason and I went out for a walk.
I hit 12,000 just as we were arriving back to our driveway.

I had put a coat of white on the legs of the table Jason made for Freya last night and they were dry so I flipped it over to do the top.

I want to make it very girlie for her so I painted the legs pink, a bright bubble gum pink called Tutti Frutti.
I was excited to get it on there to see how it would look.
It's going to need another coat but I think she's really going to like it.
I'm going to do some kind of pattern on the top with pink too - I haven't quite decided what yet though.

Jason is back to work tomorrow so we had an early night.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!

Got My Hair Did! (Feb.22, 2021)

Monday = Weigh In Day

I was 194.2 lbs today.

That's down .6 since last week which in light of the treats we had over the weekend I am ok with.
I'm still headed in the right direction albeit slowly but I'm going to get there!

Breakfast at my desk this morning.
Eggs, apple, orange and cucumber - healthy and delicious.

I also had some blackberries with vanilla coffee cream.
The morning flew right by - I'm always busy when I miss a day catching up on emails but that's good.
I like being busy.

I hopped on the treadmill at lunch, did the 1 minute jog, 1 minute walk then repeat workout.
I did a minute each at 4.0, 4.2, 4.4, 4.6, 4.8, 5.0, 5.2, 5.4, 5.6, 5.8, 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 6.3, 6.4, 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7.
I tried to do a minute at 6.8 but could only do 40 seconds - something to try for next time.
I'll get there.

It was a great workout and I was good and sweaty when I finished.

Got my selfies in after my workout.
Front view.

Side view.

Back view.

I have an appointment after work today to get my hair done.

As you can see, the grey is taking over.
I was excited because I haven't been to a hair dresser in over a year.
I've just been doing box dyes since Covid hit.

I had to wear my mask that whole time but that was no biggie.

Jason sent me this picture while I was at the hairdresser.
He made another little table for Freya.

I got some blond highlights and some lighter brown ones.
It took a while to get them all in but we had a nice chat and catch up so that was good.
My hairdresser, Kim, is also one of my curling team mates so I normally see her every week in the winter months but since curling was cancelled this year, I haven't seen her much at all.

She dried it for me a little before I left the shop so you can kind of see the highlights.
When my hair is dryer, they'll show up better.

Jason had invited Kody and family over for supper as he made a big pot of soup and they just got to the house so Kody came down and picked me up from my appointment.
I had planned on walking home but changed my mind since the kids were over there.

She loves getting up on the table.

She played with her soup instead of eating it.
She loves pouring it back and forth from one container to another.

It was nice to have them all over for supper, it's been a while.

She was so proud of herself for buttering a slice of bread all by herself.

She loaded it up with a good amount of butter - not a bad job really.

The kids stayed and visited for a while.
Freya one minute was wanting to sleep over, adamant that she didn't want to leave her Papa then she flipped in an instant and wanted to go home with Mom and Dad.

After they left, I did the dishes and we watched some One Bite Pizza Reviews.
I realized at 9:30 that I still needed about 1500 steps so decided to go out and walk my 2000 loop which is basically up to the end of my street then straight across to Centenial which loops around and meets up with the street behind mine which loops back to mine.
It's about 2000 steps and takes about 15 minutes so it's perfect to get some extra steps.

Jason came with me even though he was already somewhere in the 24000 range for steps.
Said he'd love to accompany his lady on her walk 😃😄
I sure do love that guy!

I like the streaks, I think they look good.

There - a bit better lighting so you can see them.

My Aunt M gave this movie rave reviews - it looks like my kind of movie so going to check it out.

This also popped up on my phone - a new show coming to Netflix that also looks to be right up my alley!

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

A Day with Our Girl (Feb.21, 2021)

We all had a bit of a sleep in this morning which was nice.

When we did get up, first thing Freya wanted was a hot bubba and a cuddle with Papa.

They have such a sweet relationship.
He just dotes on her and she adores him (the feeling is mutual).

They hung out like this for quite some time this morning.

I posted the picture of my new bike on Facebook and I got a lot of comments.
I think it's really the first time I posted a picture of myself since I lost weight so I got a lot of nice comments.
It got me think about this picture I took probably last May or June when we first started WW and I decided to do a comparison picture to post on WW.
(I don't feel comfortable posting pics like this on Facebook, at least not yet, maybe that will change down the road).
I am amazed by the difference - I look and feel so much better.
I am so grateful that I started WW again and that I'm here at this point in my journey.
There has been some sacrifice and hard work but it is so worth it.

Little Miss got tuckered out and fell asleep around 2 on my lap.
I just love having the chance to cuddle with her so I just sat there with her and found a movie to watch.

Stepmom just became available on Netflix so I picked that.
I saw it when it first came out at the theatre with my sister.
I remember I was just crying a river and this man behind me in the theater was letting out these big sobs too and my sister just looked at me and said "are you crying?" like she couldn't believe it.
I remember responding "you aren't" like I couldn't believe that she wasn't.
She didn't have children at the time, I think if she watched it again it would be a whole different story.

It was just as much of a tear jerker as I remembered it to be and I cried my little eyes out.

Jason had been trying to go out for a run all morning but Freya just didn't want him to leave so he took advantage of her napping to get out and go for his jog.
When he got back, I got ready and went out to do some shoveling.
It had snowed a bit over night and it's a good way for me to get steps in.

I got the whole front and driveway done then I headed to the backyard.
It was actually kind of nice out so Freya and Jason got ready and came out to help me.

We put her right to work!
Ha ha.

She thought she was doing a great job.
Isn't she the cutest little shoveler in the world?

When we finished up, we decided to go for a walk but the wind picked up while we were walking and it got really cold.

When we got back to the house, Kody was there waiting to pick Freya up.
She was so happy to see him.

That is all for today, until next time, be happy!
