Hard Run Done (Sep.27, 2023)

I had a bit of a headache last night and I woke up this morning again with a headache.

I don't know why - I think I might need to get my eyes checked to see if my prescription has changed or something.

Jason dropped Freya off at school, headed out for his run then met me down and the office and we went for a walk.

 It was lovely out there.

He went and ran another 10k then he picked Freya up from school.

They went to the store and he got her a few treats, one she picked out was canned whipped cream which she proceeded to eat right out of the can.

I had a 3 mile or 5k run on the schedule today.

I headed out on my lunch hour to get it done.
I had to go to the washroom around midway and I tried to stop in to Subway but there was a water line break so they were closed.
So I sucked it up and kept going to get my 5k done but it wasnt't very enjoyable.

The exercise details.

My average pace and splits.
I swear the bathroom thing is my biggest issue - I ended up having to call Jason to come get me because I finished up pretty far away from the house and I REALLY had to go.

Got home and felt so much better.
Even with the bathroom issue my pace was one of the best I've had in a bit.

The rest of the afternoon was good.
After work I went out and cut up some pieces of wood to fix Morgan's sign for her, got a stain put on them and tomorrow once they dry, I'll get the sign fixed.
That's one project I've been wanting to get done and now I'm part way there.
Crossing things off my to do list feels fantastic.

Freya went home not long after I got home from work - they were going over to Crystal's for a visit.
So Jason and I just had a nice evening together.
He'll be heading to his folks tomorrow then I have to head to the city next week for work possibly before he gets back so we'll be apart for a whole week.
I'm going to miss him.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

These are the Days! (Sep.26, 2023)

Yup, Fall is here, at least that means I can pull out my hats.

I went for a walk this morning to the road and back and it was really nice.

On my training schedule today I had a speed workout so I knocked that out on my lunch hour.

It was:
10 min Easy
6x (1 min hard and 2 min walk)
5 min Easy
For the 6 x 1 min hard I did the following speeds:  5, 5.5, 6, 6, 6.1, 6.2

Really I only ran hard for 6 minutes but I was soaked when I was done and it felt so great.
I know these workouts help to make me faster too so I really like them.

I think after I finish this half marathon training plan, I'm going to continue to do these speed workouts at least once a week.

I'm still following WW and tracking everything and trying to get engaged in the social part of the app a bit more.
I saw this recipe on there for overnight oats - I always see recipes and think I should try them but still have not.
Maybe I finally will now.

Jason starts days off tomorrow and he is heading to his parents likely Thursday so he wanted to spend some time with Freya before he left.
She wanted to come for a sleep over so we let her and Jason will take her to school in the morning.

She was on fire - just so excited to be here and hanging out with Papa.

She just had to add that in at the end!

Little bugger!

Jason was making pizza dough to take to his parents and ice cream for a nightly treat and Freya wanted to cook too so she made me a platter of food.
What a little sweetheart - so good to her Grandma.

She had fruit that she cut up herself, some of the ice cream that Jason made and a bowl of milk.

She sat with me and we ate all of it together.

Life is good.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Super Successful Weigh In (Sep.25, 2023)

Today was weigh in day and for once I was actually excited about it.

I was 208.8 lbs which I was so proud of.

That's down 8 lbs since last week.
Staying on plan and tracking all week really paid off and it feels so great I just can't wait to continue on with it.

I took my pumpkin to the office and put it up on my door and I love it.

I made sure I got out for a walk this morning to get some steps in.
It was nice but I did need to wear a hat to keep my ears warm.

When I got home, I hopped on the treadmill and just walked until I got the rest of my steps in.

It took me an hour but I did it!

Not long now before Grandbaby #2 makes her debut - Haylee's baby bump is getting so big.
We are all looking forward to meeting her.

Looks like there is a new park in Edmonton for us to check out.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

8k Run and Lots of Ghosties (Sep.24, 2023)

I woke up at 5 am this morning and could not go back to sleep so at 6 I decided to just get up.

I made a coffee then found a movie to watch.

I picked Love Sarah - it was ok.

As soon as it was done I lace up my shoes and headed out for my run.

I had 5 miles (8k) on the schedule for today.

I loved being out so early, the weather was perfect, it was quiet and peaceful - one of those really enjoyable runs.

Some of the trees in town.

I love that the colored leaves are sticking around!

I didn't go out on the highway today, just kept to in town.
Got my 8k done.

The exercise details.

My average pace and details.

It felt so good to be done and so early in the day.

Jason was cooking up chicken for the guys at work today - it looks so yummy.
He brought me home some for supper and it was delicious.

I got this spider at a yard sale in town yesterday morning - I just set him on the lamp and I think he looks pretty cool.

I wanted to make a pumpkin for my office door so I was able to get that knocked out.

Nadine came over for a visit and right at the same time, Haylee texted to say that Freya wanted to come over so we went and picked her up.

She put her Megan outfit on to show Nadine.

She loves the hair.

Nadine visited for a while then after she left, Freya wanted to go for a walk with her costume on so we did.
She really wanted Hunter to come over but he was playing with a friend.
She's getting to the age where hanging out with Grandma isn't entertaining enough anymore I think.

We did some crafts together though - I had a bunch of ghosties on the go so I let her draw faces on a couple, one for mom and one for dad, and I let her cut the strips on them too then I glued them on the stands for her.
I even let her help me drill the holes in the stands and she really liked that.

I got a whole bunch more ready to go but I need to get stands made for them.
I have a few more spindles, I'll just need to get Jason to cut them down for me.

Kody dropped by when he got off work to pick Freya up - Zepplyn was going over to her place so she was excited to go and play with her.

Nadine dropped by again to have some zucchini loaf, she's trying to talk me into putting a table in for the Christmas craft sale in November but I'm not sure if I'm going to have enough time to get enough ready to fill a whole table.
I would like to do one sometime though - maybe next year.

I've been following WW and sticking to plan all week so I'm looking forward to weigh in tomorrow.
I feel like I'm finally back on track.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Second Hand Store and Giant Bouncy Pillow (Sep.23, 2023)

I got up a bit earlier than Freya and was able to get a coffee in and a few of my YouTube vlogs that I like before she came out and joined me.

We had a relaxing morning - didn't do much and I wasn't able to convince her to eat much.

Just chocolate pudding and a yogurt tube.

I kind of wanted to go to Whitecourt to check out the second hand store so I texted Haylee and Morgan to see if they wanted to come along.

Morgan did so Freya and I picked her up and off we went.

First stop we made was at Edo for some lunch.

None of us had really eaten yet today and we were hun-ger-ee!

Freya said she wanted some california rolls so I was happy about that.

I ordered her ramen too since she loves noodles so much.

She took one bite of the california roll then spit it out (onto the other 3 on her plate so nobody else could even eat them).

She refused to even try the ramen.

So I did stop and get her a Funky Monkey shake at Booster Juice and got a protein booster added to it.

She did sip on that for the afternoon so she got some nutrients into her anyway.

We went to both second hand stores - Freya and I picked out some sleepers and bibs for the baby and I got a few craft things. I also got some clothes for Freya and a coat for Jason's Halloween character he was making so it was a successful trip.

I promised Freya that we could go to the big trampoline in the park after all the shopping.

It's more like a giant bouncy pillow but like a trampoline.

There were a few other kids there but it wasn't too crowded.

It's huge!

Freya had a lot of fun running and bouncing.

She actually got a little bit in the air here.
I love the trees in all their Autumn splendor in behind her.

After bouncing for a bit, she wanted to go play in the park so we did that.
She went on the swing and we played a few games.
I convinced her to try an ice cream - again I only got her to have a few bites then she was done.
I'm wasting a lot of money on food today it seems.

She wanted to go back on the trampoline one more time before we left and she wanted me to go on with her so I did.

It was a lot of fun - you can bounce pretty high.

Freya loves doing make up so I picked her up some Halloween make up today at the Dollar Store.
As soon as we got home she wanted to do my make up.
Aren't I beautiful.
It was so greasy and hard to get off but she had fun.

I had no luck getting her to eat much so when Kody took her home later in the evening, I let him know so he could try to get her to eat something.

Morgan shared some pictures of her and her new guy, Calum, so I thought I would share here.
Silly selfies.

This was in Sylvan Lake.

Playing with the kiddos that Morgan babysits.

With Frank.
