Nova Scotia - Easy Street Diner, St. Margaret's Bay Rd, Trampoline Park and Blue Tuna Restaurant (Oct.9, 2025)

I woke up early and was just looking at my phone while  Freya slept and Jason went out for his run.

Mel shared a picture of Hunter all decked out and ready to go to Tae Kwon Do

He is liking it so far.

The first item on the agenda after we checked out was to find a spot for breakfast.

Jason found Easy Street Diner.

There was a bunch of construction going on around it and it wasn't the easiest to find a parking spot but we did it.

I like the color scheme and the mural they had on the wall at the entrance.

It was clean and bright and airy and roomy inside.

Jason.

Freya and I.

I love it when she lets me put these little buns in her hair.
I think they look so cute on her.

I had the chicken sandwich with a salad.
The chicken was moist and delicious.

Jason had the Reuben sandwich also with a salad.

Freya had bacon and eggs.

Watching videos while we ate.

Heading back to the car through the construction.

We headed back over to Dartmouth - we were going to take Freya to a trampoline park we saw next to the car rental place and I tried to take a picture of every pretty tree that I saw.

The orange and red trees are my favorites.

So pretty.

The weather was so lovely - sunshine and blues skies.
The colorful trees just look that much more beautiful against it.

Freya's Grandfather (Kody's dad) works in Burnside which is where the trampoline park is so we stopped by his work so he could see Freya.
He took her in and showed her around, introduced her to his co-workers and gave her a little stuffie.
He and Tori (which is Kody's half sister) are planning on spending more time with her tomorrow.

It's nice that she got to see him though - It's good for her to know that she is loved and the more people that love her and care about her the better.
She is super excited about spending some time with her Aunt Tori.

Then we headed over to the trampoline park.

Her gangster stance.

She was running around having a great time.

Burning off a ton of energy.

It was a huge place with lots to do.

Jason played with her the whole entire time.

Making her way across this balance bar.
First on her bum.

Then she was brave enough to walk across.

It was all padded mats underneath.

So even if she fell it would have been fine, but she didn't.

They had a whole row of these massage chairs which is what I did while I was there.
I sat in it, turned it on for the longest time I could pick and then played a game on my phone.
Color Block which is a game my sister introduced me to and I'm totally addicted.

When Jason and Freya finished up playing, they came over and had a turn too.

We had an airbnb booked for the next two nights but it was a ways out from Dartmouth, about an hours drive away down St Margaret's Bay Rd in Queensland.
It was a scenic drive - I've always loved it out here.

This is the place, our room was on the bottom right.
It had a view of the ocean right out of our window.

We unpacked our luggage then went looking for a spot to get some supper.

We found Tuna Blue restaurant in Hubbards which was just a few minutes up the road.

It was on the top of a hill looking down over the bay.

So gorgeous.

Walking down to the entrance.

Just check out this deck.

They seated us on the deck.
It was kind of like a sunroom with a fabulous view of the bay and it had heaters inside and blankets available to use (which I did).

They had these cute baskets with crayons and coloring sheets for the kiddos.

The sun was setting and it looked so pretty.

So I had to go out on the deck to get some better pictures of it.

Wouldn't this be a nice view to sit and have a coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening?
Fabulous.

I had the chowder, it practically had a whole lobster in it.
A whole full claw and the tail meat.

Then we ordered this dip and chips dish for an appetizer.
I didn't like it that much.

Jason had a lobster roll.
Freya insisted on taking the pictures of the food for us.

They had sticky toffee pudding so you know we had to order that.
The way they decorated the plate was interesting.

It was kind of dry, not that good.
Could have used more sauce for sure.

Walking back up to the car.

We found a grocery store nearby that was still open and stopped to get a few snacky things.

Then back to the room.
This is the entrance, it didn't have a real kitchen, just a little station with a coffee maker and a microwave and a small table with a couple chairs.
It did have a giant two person tub right there in the 'kitchen' - Freya had a bath both nights.

This is the bed.

Then this was a second room just off the main room.
It had a sofa bed which Jason ended up sleeping on as the other bed was just a double which isn't that comfortable for 3 people.

It also had a bathroom that I didn't take a picture of.
It was nice.

We put a movie on and all laid in the bed and watched it and ate snacks.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!

Made it to Nova Scotia - Pur & Simple, Fall Colors and Lakeside Grill (Oct.8, 2025)

We landed at 6 am which was too early to pick up our car rental (we had a truck booked actually).
So we hung out at the airport for a couple hours until the rental place opened then we took an uber over to pick up our vehicle.

From there we decided to go get something to eat for breakfast - we were hungry.

We were driving over in Halifax and happened to notice a Pur & Simple so that's where we decided to go.

Freya taking selfies while we were waiting for our food.

Papa, Freya and Grandma.

I had one of their specialty coffees - yum.

Freya had the crepe - it's just about as big as she is.

I had the Riri's French toast which I've had before - it is so delicious, I love it.

Jason was being so good, he had an egg white omelet.

It looks good too.
We have eaten at Pur & Simple a few times now and we've not ever been disappointed so we would highly recommend it.

We did a little shopping after we ate at some stores just across the street from where we ate.

Then we headed over to Bayer's Lake which is where our hotel is and I was just oohing and aahing over all of the trees in their Fall colors.

The pictures don't seem to capture the beauty as well as real life but it gives a taste of the beauty anyway.

We did a bunch of shopping over there too - kind of just killing time until we were able to check into our room.
I got a few tops at Winners/Marshalls.
We walked through the Spirit Halloween.

We checked in once we were able then we looked up a place to go and get some supper.

We found Lakeside Grill which was in a hotel (not the one we were staying at) just up the road on Chocolate Lake.

It was really nice inside (and pretty much empty).

Looks like almost a fancy place.

They sat us in a booth by the windows.
We knew there was a lake just out there (Chocolate Lake) and I bet the view would have been beautiful in the daylight but it was dark out now and we couldn't see a thing.

Jason.

We shared some calamari.

Then I had the fish - it was AMAZING.

Jason had a chicken curry dish.
He liked it.

Then we got Freya a slice of cheesecake.

Jason and I shared a slice of carrot cake.

We are loving having the opportunity to bring Freya along on this trip with us and to have her experience some new things with us.
Plus we just love hanging out with her

We are so blessed.

We went for a swim when we got back to our hotel.
We had the whole pool to ourselves.

We got her a squishy lizard at Spirit of Halloween today and she brought it to the pool with her.

There he is.
She's got him all bundled up in case he was cold, 😆

Then that was the end of our first day here.
We hit the hay and we all crashed pretty quickly.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
