First City Trip with Both Girls (June 20, 2025)

Kody had a little visitor this morning after his run.

He took her out for a walk in the bike trailer.

She didn't want to sit in it though, she wanted to push it.

There is a little dog that is often outside by an apartment building downtown when we walk by and Eden remembers it and looks for him.

He happened to be out there today when they went by.

She was happy and sat and visited with him for awhile.

I think the puppy was happy for her company.

On my lunch hour, I hopped on the treadmill.
I didn't feel up to running straight through so I did a run 1 minute, walk 1 minute then repeat workout today.

It was still a great workout and I felt good afterwards.
I was hot and sweaty and my glasses were fogging up like crazy.

Having lunch with Papa.

When Freya finished school and I finished work, we got packed up and headed into the city for night.
We decided to test a night out with both girls, it is our first time taking Eden on a trip to the city.

The way she was sitting in her car seat cracked me up.

I brought Freya's sleep mask with us and she saw it and figured she'd have a nap on the drive in.

We headed straight to the West Edmonton Mall and got a cart for the girls.

One in the front, one in the back.
Perfect.

Jason promised Freya he would buy her something - the first store she wanted to check out was Claire's.

Jason gave her his phone so she was snapping pictures of everything that she wanted the idea being that at the end of the shopping trip, she could go back and pick out the one thing she really wanted.

There were a lot of things that she liked.

Capybara stuffie.

Necklace.

Backpack

Stitch water bottle

Stitch stickers.

Another stuffie.

Unicorn water bottle.

I'm not even quite sure what this is.

Stitch backpack.

The girls watching the figure skaters.

Hiding.

Moving this around kept her entertained for a bit.

There were some bleachers set up by the rink that she climbed up on and played on.

We walked down to the food court and got chicken and fries for the girls.

Eden just kept dipping the same piece of chicken in the gravy and licking it off over and over.

I think she likes it.

My girl.

There was a high counter in the food court and she fit underneath it perfectly.

Just after this, she had a giant blowout and we were not prepared.

Luckily I had a diaper but that was it, no wipes, no change of clothes.
Jason and Freya headed to find some wipes and I headed to the bathroom.

I made a pit stop at Winners to grab her an outfit - they didn't have much so I ended up getting her pj's.
It felt like they were so slow at the line up and I was kind of stressed but we made it through, met Jason to get the wipes then got her cleaned up in the bathroom and it was a gigantic mess!

By this time the mall was closing so we headed over to our hotel which was in St Albert.
We got there quite late so unfortunately could not take the girls to the pool.
Freya was very disappointed but we promised we'd take her first thing in the morning.

The tub was really short so Eden could get in it by herself and she loved that.

Climbing in and out of it kept her busy.

So much fun.

Then she got comfy in the bed.

So did I - Freya did the bed assignments.
Eden was sleeping with Jason and I was sleeping with her.

When we turned out the lights, they both fell asleep very quickly.

That's all for today, until next time, be happy!
